These shoes fit just as expected and kinda hug your foot gently. The toe box is roomy and gives great balance. I bought these for weight lifting because the minimal padding allows me to really feel the ground and balance correctly for all types of moves. I loved these so well that I ended up buying a second pair, and I'm wearing them every day. I have had these about a month and still love them as much as the day I bought them. I've walked in them, run in them, lifted weights, etc. They' re GREAT.

This is my second pair of these gems. I bought my first pair on a trip 4 years ago, and have been mourning that one shoe is misplaced. But honestly, those only go with certain outfits because they have hot pink on them (you still can’t have them, I will never give them up, not even though one is currently lost). I was grateful to see an all grey option available because I needed a true “barefoot shoe” that I can put on when my feet can’t tolerate the length of time in my other shoes, yet I still need to be outdoors or out and about at the time. These shoes feel so much like bare feet that I can sleep in them without being bugged by them. I love all things Merrill, and usually it’s very hard to talk me into devotion to a brand name. In fact, if people are buying a brand for snooty, uppity prideful reasons, I often avoid that brand. But once in awhile, a product will come along under those names where they’ve used a truly great fabric or material in their product, and then I end up getting it, but I must say, if it’s a company proliferrated by pride, I compliment them for a particular product feature, but I typically cover up the name brand on it. I have seamripped off N___, C_____ K____,...yes, I even took the arms off of P____ eyeglasses frames to get rid of the name. I would be the one, if I bought L_______n shoes, to take my dremel saw and chop those heels off. I completely seamripped a brand new C____ wallet apart to get every drop of that nasty cereal-box cardboard out (designers, cereal box lining does NOT go in a fine wallet. Stop. It.). Just sayin’, I mean business. My point is, I happlily wear the Merrill brand name, and I hope people buy because of it, because this company has a sincere purpose, and it’s based on genuine comfort, unlike those stilt-heel eye-batting kinds. I am an artist, and I love the artist eye of L_______n, but I have to say, that trips itself up, not everything is about strutting—some of us are actually walking and hiking places and arriving there without any pain or sprained ankles or shortened, physical therapy calf-tendons. Those stilt shoes are as much cartooning when they go on the design page as is Jessica, who can only aspire at most, to the limitation of being 99% unreal, 1% futile wish. With Merrill, you get 100% live living, and in comfort. Good job, Merrill.

I LOVE these shoes. One of my friends had a pair and I loved how they looked on her feet. I had been plagued with Planter Fasciitis in one of my feet. I was worried that these shoes (with no real arch support might make the condition worse. I was willing to try them for the sake of fashion. What a surprise, the planter fasciitis is gone! These shoes are not only comfortable, but they also made my foot problem go away. I am looking forward to buying another pair and am also considering changing my workout shoes and boots to the Merrell brand!

I bought my first pair of Merrells 9 years ago, after I broke my foot. They were the only shoes I could tolerate as my foot healed. I am still wearing those shoes, but they're getting threadbare. I bought these as a replacement. I tried them on, and they are unbelievably comfortable. My feet are very narrow, but I can tie the shoes snugly enough for a comfortable fit. They have a nice, wide toe box, which allows me to walk miles with no discomfort. I have arthritic feet; comfort is a must. I do not need extra support, so the barefoot feel is perfect for me. I'm going to order another pair in a different color.

I am a 56-year-old woman, I do not run competitively but I walk/run 3 to 4 days a week, around 4 miles per day, for exercise. My weekly routine is a combination of paved and unpaved (earth packed) surfaces. I generally wear a size 10 to 10.5 shoe, and ordered the 10.5, which fit just right. The name "glove" gives an indication that these shoes fit close to the foot without feeling cramped. I have a bunion on my left foot and had been running in a low-angle shoe by mizuno, which they don't sell anymore. After reading the reviews of this "barefoot" technology I thought I would give them a try. I cannot believe how comfortable they are! Plus, they allow me to be more aware of my body's contact with the ground beneath my feet and I feel as though I am running more naturally, in alignment with my unique structure.

Keep in mind that if you aren't already used to minimalist footwear, you must take a period of time to get used to them. It is recommended that you run 10% of each of your runs for the first week in these shoes, then, change your shoes back to the ones you are normally used to finish the run. You would increase a little more each week. Longer is better, shorter time is not. I am used to 0 drop shoes already (heel is the same height off the ground as the forefoot) as I train in the Vibram FiveFingers Spyridon for trail running and weight lifting. These are my new "go-to" for running and strength training but, be aware if you are used to the Vibram trail runners, the sole of these shoes are not as thick so, you WILL feel EVERYTHING. Less protection against rocks. I'm in love with these shoes!

I've been enjoying barefoot running on our inside track and wanted something for outdoors. These definitely keep that "barefoot" feeling for the most part. The only bad side of this is you can feel larger rocks ( we have a huge gravel driveway and you can't wear these on it-ouch!) and can't bike with them- the pedals hurt. EDIT* I've been wearing these for several months and want to add to my review. The shoes themselves are still very good, though the laces are fraying abit. My issue -if you'd call it that- is that I went to barefoot because I got sick of my high dollar running shoes that were very padded, causes knee pain for 7 years, toe pain as well. Switching to barefoot running did the trick I"m pain-free. I can't say the Merrill's compare to the effects of being fully barefoot, in fact I did get some nasty pain in one foot from them which has gone away and hasn't been back. I wear these when running outside on the cinder track (because I have no choice) but barefoot on the indoor track. Fully barefoot feels much better and if you truly want your running pains eliminated you'll probably need to go barefoot as often as possible. With that being said I love these shoes for weightlifting or wearing out and about, they are perfect for that. I just would rather not run in them if I don't have to.

I am loving this shoe. The fit is really spot on. I ordered a 1/2 size up as I normally would in running shoes but didn't like the fit, the extra room in toe that it gave. I think Barefoot shoes are meant to really fit glove like (kinda like the name) and so I returned for my normal shoe size and they fit perfectly. I feel I have plenty of room in the toe box. My toes are not smooshed together. The middle and back of my foot feel like the "glove" fit. I like the breathable mesh material and also the lime color. I have had them for a bit now and have ran quite a few trail miles in them and am very happy. I was having LOTS of issues from either running form or other shoes (feel it was more shoe issue than form as I haven't had an issue in many many years) and once I made the switch to this I haven't missed a running day. You do need to give it a break in period. I ran no more than two miles every other day for the first week - yes, after day one you will feel in in your calves. Completely normal. The next week I ran 3 miles each day then continued to bump up. Calf soreness went away after the second run and my previous foot/leg issues have completely disappeared. I like them so much and feel so much better in them that I bought a second pair to wear to work. Achilles pain completely disappeared within two days of making the switch from my Brooks walking around shoes to these. (Brooks were meant to be running shoes. Hated them so much they became work shoes. Caused me pain even then which is why they were replaced with these). I am super happy with my purchase and will probably grab a pair for the closet in the event I wear these babies out and can't find a replacement, as that is typically the way it goes for me.

So Lightweight! So Comfortable! Wide Toe Box for comfortable toes! Very minimal (almost barefoot) shoe that makes my feet happy! I wear them almost every day. Warning! They are very thin and the arch support is really barely there. These are only appropriate for people who love to go barefoot and hate wearing shoes. Your feet will stay clean and protected, but you won't get much support and in the winter your feet might get cold. These are about half the price of similar shoes, so it is a good bargain for people who want that minimal feel.

This is my second pair of these shoes. I had the one before this as well and really liked those. My only thing is I wish they lasted a little bit longer. It has to do with the mesh (the grey criss-cross part). It wears out quickly. Also the glue is starting to wear off of some parts (rubber meets mesh). I have had them about 1 year. I am a preschool teacher. I don't wear them everyday but close to it. They have a thin rubber sole that is great for people who want some protection from things you could step on. I was hoping they would come out with the next ones and those would last a little longer. But not yet.
