OMG LOVE THIS GAME
wow I can’t believe I put this game off for so long being stuck on Pokémon white for years. And my god this version is amazing on the 3DS the graphics are awesome the Pokémon looks adorable (Litten melted my heart with his cuteness O.O also a huge cat Pokémon fan) and the story and animations are amazing! I’m so glad I finally evolved as a Pokémon trainer and got this game. IT WAS SO WORTH IT! Don’t hesitate just buy it for your 3DS you won’t be disappointed!

Unique compared to previous generation Pokemon games!
Wonderful game, different story and play style than the previous generations. Instead of gyms, you have to do special challenges. HMs don't exist in the game, but are instead swapped out as a TM that are unlimited usage. I love the fact that the game fighting style has changed too much and that z moves were introduced which are Pokemon based oriented. Overall, I highly recommend this game and do not want to give away too many spoilers!

Delivered much more than expected
This game delivered so much more than I thought it would. It has been an absolute blast and the things they added to the story make the game very immersive and memorable. Highly recommended!

like the types of Pokemon you can encounter
I played through the game expecting only a few minor changes from the original Sun/Moon, like the types of Pokemon you can encounter. What I didn't expect was a bunch of changes to the story and post-game story, as well as new minigames. The characterization of your NPC friends is done much better in this game as well, which makes playing through the story more enjoyable than the first. It's definitely worth picking up if you enjoyed the original SuMo.

It's not like they advertised a brand new story like B/W 2
It's not like they advertised a brand new story like B/W 2. I'm satisfied with it since I love pokemon. New adventure, new starter, new party, and I'll get new stuff along the way.

It's not all new, but it's not "exactly the same" by any stretch of the definition either.
I am kind of perplexed by all the one star reviews complaining it's the same game. The Ultra Sun/Moon games are essentially remakes/remasters with all new content and drastic storyline changes to the originals, and have always been marketed as such. It's not intended to be a completely different game as, say, from Red/Blue to Gold/Silver. It's better to think of these as alternative versions to the original games because that's exactly what they are. Expectations should be adjusted accordingly. While many locations and a lot of key plot elements are unchanged early on, the experience is significantly different from the get-go in a variety of ways. A lot of scenes are executed much differently (such as the way in which you get your starter), you are chased by an entirely new villain organization with a brand new plot line attached throughout, virtually all characters from major NPCs to simple villagers have new dialogue and quests, there are new areas to find and explore, there are TONS of new secrets and quests ranging from simple and obvious to more obscure and rewarding, there are a LOT more classic Pokemon throughout the entire game to encounter and catch from every generation, not just the legendaries... the list goes on. The latter half of the game plays out VERY very differently with all new events and locations, and the post-game has a lot more meat to it. Even a lot of the soundtrack and the UI have been overhauled and changed. While I can understand not liking a game personally, calling this "exactly the same" and thus a rip-off feels like a knee-jerk reaction and frankly, not an entirely honest one that isn't offering any helpful information to someone looking to buy this. Be aware of what you're getting and adjust your expectations accordingly. Playing this in no way feels like a retread of the original games and I'm honestly surprised by how many changes there are, some big and some small. The story feels like it flows a lot better now; a lot of the cutscenes have been changes and rewritten in ways that make them feel stronger, while many major characters get a lot more characterisation so it feels more rewarding to people who have played the original and felt some of those beats fell a little flat. If you want a completely brand new game as you would going from one generation to the next, this isn't it. But as someone who has played the games on and off since their very first Red/Blue release but isn't a diehard, I am very happy with my purchase and what they chose to do with it.

pretty good
It was a good game. I played Moon when it first came out, I figured might as well get Ulta Moon too. I feel like this is everything Game Freak/Nintendo wanted to do with the original Sun and Moon games, but they just ran out of time. Overall the story is pretty similar to the original Moon with the exception of adding in the Ultra Recon Squad or whatever it was called. Anyways, they revamped some tracks and enhanced some graphics which made the game feel a lot more polished. Uh basically if you wanna buy this I'd recommend it. Its a pretty fun game. They've also upped some of the difficulty thankfully, so there's a lot more challenge compared to Moon (to me at least, but maybe not to everyone.) I've been playing Pokemon games for like 14 years and this one's in my top 5 for now.

What kind of Pokemon are you? How do you do the things you do? Share with me your secrets, deep inside!
It's Pokemon. Come on. Do you really need a review for this? It's been 20 years, if you don't know if you like Pokemon by now then my little words here aren't gonna help you. Ultra Moon is pretty much an expansion to the original Sun and Moon. There's some minor story changes here and there, but most of it's post game. By now - like me, you've seen the trailers, you know the bad guys are back! And that was reason enough for me to grab it.

great game, lots of additional content
great game, lots of additional content, but the story is almost exactly the same as sun and moon. It start changing near the end. But cant complain.

The last, but not the least
Great pokemon game, it may be the last but nintendo surely has gave it all in all by pumping as much as they could possibly get out of the 3ds! All the villians return for the grand finale. It's amazing. Love it.
