I have plantar faciitis on my left foot, which makes running and long-distance walking/hiking really difficult as I couldn't go longer than 15 minutes on my feet without triggering pain. I was struggling to find shoes that would help at a good price point, and then I found everyone raving over these bad boys! They don't really have a squishy, cushion feel like I was expecting from gel, but surprisingly these don't hurt at all and absorb impact really well, they're very comfortable and offer a lot of support. I also have wide feet and normally have trouble with toe boxes, but most of the reviews said that this shoe runs large- buying my actual size worked out well since they fit me just fine with no issues, blisters, or pain. Finally, I love that the colors on these aren't ridiculous- one thing I've always hated about most sneakers and running shoes is that they have obnoxiously loud colors and designs that clash with every outfit. These color options are more subdued and have a nice harmony to them. Mine are the castlerock/silver/honeydew and it matches well with all my other workout clothes. I haven't found a single thing not to love about these shoes! Highly recommend!!

My favorite sneaker. I have flat feet and suffer from plantar fasciitis. I bought my first gel venture 6 from DSW because I was in so .much pain and this sneaker is so amazing that I got another from Amazon. It is the only sneaker that gives my foot enough support that I don't feel pain. I have one for daily wear and one for the gym and I can be on my feet all day at work plus workout without feeling like I'm dying or my feet are going to fall off. I have recommended these to my family and bought the men's one for my fiancé and he loves it too. Bottom line: get it, your feet will thank you

So I usually buy Skechers and was looking for a good walking shoe that gives support. My thin Skechers dont have the heel support for my knees and lower back. I normally wear a 10 and have a wide foot, also painful bunion, foot swelling, back & knee pain. I thought I'd try Asics based off the reviews with the higher heel and good fit. I started with a 10D but a little short in my toe, so got the 10.5 regular. I have to say these were comfy right out of the box and by the end of the day, my heels, knees and back were fine. I was leary on the neon coral color but they're actually really nice and I just paired them with a coral top and some gray leggings, looks great! I also tried the Venture 5's as some said they are better but they felt harder and smaller out of the box and I had to return. These were it for me - I think Asics will be my go to sneaker from now on... :)

As a retired nurse with a history of plantar fasciitis, I've learned to look at trainers differently. Prevention is the best way to go and that means wearing a good shoe that compliments a size specific insole that is designed for your specific foot issue. I've worn Asics for years and have purchased 3 pairs in the Gel-Venture series. These shoes offer great stability, are super durable and house my favorite insole (Spenco Polysorb Cross Trainer) well. Practically speaking, a shoe is only as good as it's insole and most insoles are made for the average foot. As a person with abnormally high arches, I find that regardless of the price, no shoe is going to offer the arch support I need. I've tried expensive trainers (Brooks Reverie) but these are a far more comfortable and stable shoe for walking. I average somewhere between-15-20 miles per week on asphalt and my Gel-Venture 5s lasted 18 months. In comparing the Gel-Venture 5 to 6, the 6 has (1) a slightly more rounded toe which results in more toe room (2) less padding on the tongue (3) a deeper tread (4) feels a half size larger and (5) more padding on the heal. Personally, I prefer the Gel-Venture 6. In regards to sizing, I wear a 6.5 in shoes, 6.0 in sandals and found the 6.5 in this shoe accomodates thick socks comfortably. Wore them for the first time today and walked 6 miles in total comfort.

I was heading for a hiking trip out west and had seen a lot about trail runners for hiking. I've always had good luck with Asics and when I read that the toe box on the gel-Venture 6 was bigger then the 5, I decided on them. My feet swell when I hike and I've had trouble my hikers. I wear an 11 and have had to go to men's shoes when the manufacturer recommends sizing up. I used the the Gel-Venture 6 for hiking in the shallow creeks and rivers and scrambling through slot canyons, but found that I needed a firmer shoe for steep ascents or descents. They are nice looking and great for my daily walks as well. I'm thinking about getting another pair before they change them. I can wear out a pair of walking shoes every year.

The soles are not gel like I expected but I love the color. Very bright! And they fit well. The soles do come out so there is room for new soles if you prefer. I bought them mostly for the color and they are perfect!

Ordered these for a weeklong trip to Washington, DC and they were amazing! I always used to order a new pair of Skechers memory foam for trips to Disney but from now on I’ll be sticking with ASICS. Very nice quality and stylish looking. I love the colored bottom soles so they don’t look dirty so quickly. Not too heavy either, which I was concerned about. I have very flat feet, somewhat narrow, size 11-11.5 (ordered a 12 in case of swelling and they were great), I’m 280 lbs, and I’ve had a fractured cuboid bone within the past year. These shoes had all the support and cushion I could have wanted, my feet never got sore even after walking 35+ miles in 4 days. I would recommend those socks with the little extra fabric behind the heel that prevent the sock from slipping down into the shoe as I did notice my normal socks would slide down a bit and the shoe would rub the back of my ankles but not enough to bother me.

First off I love asics. I started a new job that I will be on my feet for 10 hours and most of that time will be spent walking. I wanted a good pair of shoes. These are awesome. Right out of the box they were comfortable. I wore them all day with no problems. I highly recommend getting a pair.

These are my new favorite running shoes (I switched over from Saucony ISO Triumph 2). Not only are they comfortable, but they are inexpensive. As a runner with high arches, and as one who rolls her ankles even on flat surfaces, these are fantastic. p.s. I usually wear a size 10 in regular, everyday shoes, and a 10.5 in running shoes. I got 10.5 in these and they fit great. Also, I usually have to wear orthotics due to my high arch sitch, and I have not used them yet in these shoes.

Update: I just ran 6 miles in these as my first run. Kind of far for a first time but they needed zero breaking in period and performed great. No blisters or discomfort. Breathability good for an Atlanta summer day. My only criticism is that anyone using these for trail running (a good percentage I'd hope) would naturally want a longer toe box. I wish I didn't have to go up half a size to get this because then it throws off the general fit of the rest of the shoe. But that's just me. In general these have a more generous toe box than most. Not as rigid a performance as the 5s. I would probably purchase the 5s again if I could however I definitely can recommend these 6s and I'll adapt more fluently within a couple more runs. Original review: I trail run 8-12 miles per week. I loved my Gel Venture 5s because they felt like they were custom made for my foot. When I first got into running I couldn't believe how well they fit. I need new shoes every 9 months or so and I always go back to the gel venture 5s so I was very sad when I found out they were discontinued. So cue the Gel Venture 6s! I'm pleased to report the gel venture 6s fit just as well as the 5s. The arch support is not as high as the 5s though (I also got half a size larger this time to prevent runners toe so this could be influencing it a bit). They're also not quite as boxy/sturdy as the 5s. One of the reasons I love Asics gel ventures is because they're a very strong shoe. A lot of the times with trail shoes they almost feel like slippers which some runners prefer but I don't. I like something with good feedback and bounce and protection. There have been times I've been seduced by the marketing of other brands, but I always end up returning them and going back to Asics. I plan on running with these tomorrow and will update but I was so excited to write my review I couldn't wait. The only difference I've noted is it had a different tread than the 5s. One huge plus of the gel ventures over other trail shoes is that you can use them as a road shoe, which is nice. You can also use them as a walking/every day shoe and walk on tile/hardwood. Most other trail shoes you might as well walk on wax paper if you're on tile.
