Excellent way for accurate, safe temperature readings
This is my "best friend" when making soaps! I love this easy and accurate way to check the temperature. Very light weight and has a lifetime warranty when you register it! Excellent price and I've already had a friend ask where I got it!

Great for making soap and...
I have one of these that I sue when I make soap. It is very accurate and easy to use. My grandson would not leave it alone when he visits. He visits often so I bought a second one for him to play with when he is here. It keeps him occupied for hours. He has to check the temperature of everything. Even though it is probably not recommended as a toy, it is a great learning tool for a young child and I don't lose my soap thermometer every time he drops in. Win Win

So easy to use
I use this for work a lot. Tempering chocolate and checking sugars on the stove. So much easier and cleaner than using a basic immersion candy thermometer. So easy to use.

Accurate and helpful
This is the best. I can’t stop testing things! I got this because I live in Phoenix and we have dogs. I wanted to understand how hot concrete, asphalt, grass etc really is so I would know when it’s safe to walk them. This works great.

It seems to work very well and easily and quickly. Great value for the money.
I bought the temp gun for my brother. He may not really need it much, except he earns a lot more than me, so what was I going to buy him? He sometimes grills stuff outdoors. I have another one that I bought for myself previously. I pointed it at some equipment I was trying to fix to see if part of it was overheating, and it seems like no part of it was overheating to a degree that would indicate damage. So it served its purpose just fine. It isn't complicated to use and it doesn't use up the battery unnecessarily. It can easily switch from Fahrenheit to Celsius and back. It has an LCD readout I believe, to show the temperature digitally. It takes a reading very quickly so I just have to turn it on and point it. I measured inside my freezer and it showed something like 20 degrees Fahrenheit just as I expect. I pointed it at a spot on the gas stovetop right over where the pilot light is burning and I think I recall it read something like 170 F or 200 F. I know that spot burns if I touch it so it made a lot of sense. I believe it's fairly accurate but stars are a stupid system for rating the accuracy of a temperature gun. Maybe it means you can point it at the night sky and it can count the number of stars you are pointing it at! LOL!

Unbeatable thermometer for the price
I bought this a couple months ago to check the temperatures on my A/C mini-split system, which consists of four different heads in my house and which lately did not seem to be cooling properly. The infrared thermometer was very inexpensive but seemed to be functioning very well, and the temperatures I was getting seemed reasonable. The only reason for my delay in posting this review is that I wanted to wait until I could compare the results I was getting with this thermometer against those the A/C tech would get from his probe thermometer. Once I was able to do that, it appears this device, which I was using at a stand-off distance from the units, was within a degree of the readings the A/C tech got from his inserted probe. For the very low price of this unit, I was extremely satisfied with the results.

Very Useful For My Purposes
I got this thermometer for my soap making hobby. It is awesome. I don't have to worry about cleaning off a thermometer anymore or dripping lye everywhere when I take it out or anything. And I only need one thermometer for the whole batch instead of having a separate one for the lye and the oils. I highly recommend it if you make soap. I imagine it would be good for applications like candy making as well (though I have not tried it for that.) Also, if you ever wonder if it really is hot enough to fry an egg on the sidewalk you will have a way to find out! It is very easy to use, I got the hang of it after only a few minutes. I don't know how it will hold up so I'm not going to comment on its durability just yet. Read the instructions first because this is not for taking the temperature of everything, and obviously you need to be careful with the laser.

Used for sugar work for cake but only owned 1 week
Worked great for my sugar melting for my cake decorating. I used it to reheat my pan to the temp I knew to be flexible without too melted after working with the sugar a while. I don’t know if the temperature was on point but it was consistent when I used it. We tested it around the house and it seemed to be around the average of what my thermostat was set at. It is lightweight so maybe if you’re rough or drop it hard enough it might crack but I dropped it when I stayed up doing the cake and it didn’t break. Maybe got lucky maybe it’s more resilient. I’m hoping for the latter with my household.

Good Product
I bought this to measure the water coming out of the tap for water changes in my fish tank, as I'm tired of holding thermometers under the running water and for it to slowly react. Temp has to be at least close to tank temp so it doesn't shock the inhabitants. This device came quickly, is very well put together, and works very well. I found I need to give it a little time to calibrate before releasing the trigger to get more accurate temps, but that's fine. Hopefully it'll last a while. It was cheap enough that if it last a few months then I'm satisfied. Only gripe is it came in a box being tossed around during shipping, as Amazon didn't put any packing material in the box with it.

Effective, accurate, attractive, affordable, fun to use, lifetime warranty- no brainer
I've never owned one of these but really glad I bought this one. I needed it for measuring heat on a soldering iron and film covering iron, for model building where temperature is important. But when it arrived I spent a few minutes measuring things: the snow outside (22°), the hood of the car (still warm at 53°), the wheels of the car (22°), my hand (71°), my face, (92°), inside the fridge (51°). Really fun! Nicely made, easy to use, works well so far, and a lifetime replacement warranty, good looking... What's not to like? Oh... Really inexpensive too. So glad i got this, my new, enhanced skills tool!
