• 1080J rating protects your devices from electrical surge damage & is fireproof to keep your entire home safe. Remember to always use protection...for your electronics.
  • Triple your outlet capacity with 6 pivoting AC heads that can handle all your electronics. A study we just conducted says 6 outlets are better than 1. Take that for data.
  • Installs in seconds over existing outlets, with a low 1.50" profile to keep your cables out of the way. Includes a securement screw to support your heavy wall warts, we can't speak for your other warts. Go see a doctor.
  • Filters your electricity current to eliminate dirty power caused by signal interference. To simplify, clean power signal = longer device life.
  • UL safety certified with a 5 year, $25k connected equipment warranty. Your electronics won't be "hertz" with ECHOGEAR. That was a terrible electricity pun.

This device seems to work as described. I bought it mostly to expand the number of outlets, but I like that it is also a surge protector. I can’t judge the surge control yet as I just installed the device. The pivoting outlets is a clever idea and avoids issues of a large plug covering two outlets. Here, all six outlets are useable no matter the plug size. The device attaches via a three prong plug to the original outlet and a center screw. I had to remove the screw on the original two outlet cover in order to screw the device into the wall, but I left the outlet cover in place between the wall and the device as pictured because removing the cover exposed part of the wall guts. The device would have been more flush to the wall if I could have dispensed with the original outlet cover, but the device does not line up right to do that. The only other improvement I would suggest is that the device should have a set of dummy prongs that insert into the second outlet in a standard two outlet set up. That would secure the device to the wall even better (than one set of prongs and center screw).

I have been looking for a quality surge protector like this for a while, since I have a lot of tech that I don’t want to get destroyed, or my storage corrupted, or even worse my house burning down!:) I have been browsing on amazon for a little while, and stumbled upon this nifty thing. I scimmed through the verified reviews, and saw that it received very good reviews so I pulled the trigger. The first thing I noticed once I opened the box, was the packaging presentation. It was nice and subtle, and made the surge protector seem very “premium” After removing it from the packaging, I plugged it in, and made sure every outlet worked, and they did. I liked the fact that every outlet initially was a little difficult to plug in, and that means it should stand up to the test of time of unplugging and plugging in multiple items. Finally I just want to comment on the swiveling plugs, that’s an ingenious idea! Most flat surge protectors I have you need to figure out a way to try to get all your plugs to fit due to their size. Sometimes charging bricks are larger than others causing me to block an outlet due to the fact that’s its simply too large. Not anymore! You can swivel these so you can plug pretty much whatever you want, and it will not interfere with the plug next to it, or above and below it. I love this idea very much, and it should be implemented in pretty much every surge protector IMO. Long story short, this is a product I would while-heartedly reccommend to anymone in the market for a good quality innovative surge protector.

Got this for behind the sofa, so I could put the sofa closer to the wall. This works great b/c you can turn the outlet to the side. Wish I had found this years ago. Installing it is kinda tricky. Well for me it was. The instructions tell you what to do but for some reason the lightbulb didn't click for me right away. This is going to cover the entire outlet, on a standard dual vertical outlet. There's a piece that goes into the bottom part of the plug. For some reason I thought this was supposed to go where the screw goes to hold the standard outlet cover to the wall. That's not where it goes. Once I figured that out, it made a lot more sense. I highly recommend screwing it to the wall (this lines up to where your traditional outlet cover screw goes), but expect it to cover both the plugs.

I absolutely love this gadget. I got it in and immediately installed it in my kitchen. Extremely easy to install (you just need to unscrew the screw on your current cover plate, plug in the surge protector, then screw in the screw they provide. It's so much nicer having USBs and extra plugs; I didn't realize how much they'd make a difference, especially in the kitchen. Plus the surge protector aspect of it is a great selling point.

This Echogear Wall Surge Protector is a very useful adapter with a minimalist design. 🔸 The width is the same as the wall plate - about 3 inches wide. 🔸 The depth is 2 inches from the wall and with its pivoting plugs makes it so useful for any type of plug as well as when the outlet is in a tight space behind furniture. NOTE: although the outlets pivot, you can only plug in when the outlet is facing front or sideways. 🔸 Keep in mind that the outlet sits flush to the top of the wall plate (if mounted into the top outlet) YET hangs below the wall plate about 2 inches. This may be an issue when installing in a kitchen counter outlet where the countertop or backsplash may be in the way. (Wall plates are about 4 inches tall and this adapter is 6 inches). Obviously, it will hang lower if mounted to the bottom outlet but that will also give you access to the top outlet. 🔸 The top front of the adapter has a slight lip to hold something like a charging phone. 🔸 If mounted to the top outlet, the adapter screws into the wall plate and makes the adapter very secure. There is also a small plastic plug to cover up the screw hole and is a very nice touch. I originally used the Echogear in a different outlet and realized that the outlet was NOT grounded - even though it is a 3-prong receptacle. I moved the Echogear to another outlet which does show as grounded and am using an extension for the plugs until the outlet can be remedied. See pictures. So, thank you Echogear for that information, lol. I can't comment on it’s surge protection capabilities or its longevity since I’ve only had it for several weeks. But it is currently performing well and works perfectly for the tight space I needed it for. I will be buying a couple more of these Echogear’s adapters. Thus far, this was a good purchase.

This is just what I needed for behind my nightstand, to plug in a lamp as well as give surge protection to my portable home phone base/answering machine (old fashioned, I know, but that's me). As huge and bulky as my home phone's ac cord is, I still have plenty of room to plug in my cell phone's somewhat bulky charger, and everything looks neat and is out of the way. At first I plugged this device into the bottom outlet, and there was room in the top outlet for an old-fashioned two-pronged plug (like on my lamp), but not for a bigger two-pronged plug (like on my vacuum cleaner), and definitely not a three-pronged plug. However, I changed my mind and plugged it into the top outlet for more stability, thus rendering the bottom outlet useless - but I didn't need the outlet, since I got 6 outlets with this device. For those who don't know, to install this device so that it is more secure, there is a long screw included in the package. You simply remove the tiny screw from the middle of your outlet COVER, hold the cover in place with one hand while you plug this device in, and after plugging it in, you screw in the provided long screw into the hole in the device. The hole is just above the top two swiveling outlets, and just under the EchoGear logo/word. This long screw then replaces the tiny screw that was in your outlet cover. To be clear, you do not remove your outlet cover - just the tiny screw - that way the exposed part of your outlet cover still looks neat and tidy. The screw package also contains a little white "nub" to put into the hole of the device to cover the screw you just installed (if you choose to use it). As far as the "caution" slip of paper that's included in the package advising to turn off electric power before installing the device, someone, at some point, must have been shocked when trying to install or uninstall the device. I did not turn off the power, but I recommend you do whatever the manufacturer suggests. Anyhow, I liked it enough that I bought two more (direct from EchoGear - same price as Amazon). I have not had them for more than a few weeks, so I cannot speak to their longevity and/or performance (protection from a surge), but if they function as well as their looks and convenience, I'd say they are great products.

ECHOGEAR On-Wall Surge Protector With 4 Pivoting AC Outlets & 2 USB Ports - Packs 1080 Joules of Surge Protection & Installs On Existing Outlets To Protect Your Gear & Increase Outlet Capacity I ordered 5 of these and 1 6 pivoting AC Outlets. I love these for cord management and surge protection!!! The USB ports are great for charging cell phones, laptops, etc. NO MORE BULKY ugly traditional surge protectors laying on the floor. I was so impressed I ordered 2 more. The pivoting AC outlets are a life saver for hard to reach places. I have a outlet in the bathroom where I was constantly unplugging something so I could plug in something else. These outlets solved the problem, and eliminates the need for additional electrical outlets to be installed. I consider these to be a must have for any home or office. Work great using smart home plugs that usually take up 2 sockets, no more extensions cords or trying to figure out where to plug everything. I appreciate that these filter dirty power and the peace of mind I have for electronics and smart tvs.

Purchased this to install multiple devices behind my television set. I was limited with the two outlets and found this plug key. It is very streamlined and allows the ability to use various angles for plug placement. The only negative is if you have a more modern plug you can not secure it against the outlet. I wasn't too concerned as there wasn't going to be much play behind the unit to have the entire plug removed from the socket. In other words the plugs would not see any movement pull it away. Finally it shows whether you have a well grounded plug. Overall a great plug and value.

This appears to do everything it claims and it's great to have the pivoting outlets. These allow you to plug in all those small electronics with the AC Adapter wall worts. I have one caution to users. I'm not an expert, but the consensus after a Google search is that you should never plug one surge protector style extension bar into another surge protector (this unit). If you buy this to help with power cable management and you need additional outlets, then plug in a standard multi outlet extension bar; do not plug a surge protector style into this one. The surge protector on this provides that protection. Also, be sure that you don't exceed the amperage or wattage ratings when you plug in your electronics. That would be about 13A or 1500W. Check the specs of this unit plus all devices.

Update to my previous review: the company sent me a replacement surge protector that works great! No arcing when plugging devices in now! Kudos to them for taking care of the issue. Original review: One of the outlets sparks anytime something is plugged in. Unsafe.
