I'm restoring a 1968 El Camino SS and it has many fasteners that came from the factory with a black oxide finish that now need to be refinished. I am very pleased with the ease of use and final appearance of the bolts, etc. that I have processed with this kit. I media blast the parts, put them in a "sock" make out of plastic screen door mesh, rinse with tap water, then rinse in distilled water (use a large plastic paint mix pail), and then follow the instructions, again using distilled water (that may be overkill, but distilled water is not expensive). I took a large bolt out of my first batch and set it outside for ten days. It was even in snow. I was concerned about flash rust from not enough product on the bolt. Looked good after ten days. Note that while it isn't clear in the advertisement, the kit includes two large plastic buckets with lids.
