Great product at a great price

I picked this unit up because my motherboard has no built in Bluetooth. I'm using it to utilize the motion controllers for the Lenovo Explorer VR headset. Simply put, it just worked. Straight out of the box, no software required, didn't even have to play with any settings, it just worked. I'm running Windows 10 Home Insider Preview build 18298.rs_prerelease (Insider required for many VR features).

To me. this is one of the best "little" item I Have ever purchased. Here is an example, and after I give it to you, you will want this as an essential computer accessory. I thought it was wonderful to have Bluetooth 4. Well, I purchase a Jawbone Era. It wasn't new but it has great sound etc. So I went to Pair it with my computer and-NOTHING. After some research, I found that this older Jawbone only paired to Blutooth2.. and I had Bluetooth 4, I had a $36 worth of plastic. Then just before I was going to throw it away, I stumbled on Amazon a Dongle that was DOWNward compatible. It was not expensive so I was suspect, but if it worked !! So I got it Plugged it in and it paired and connected immediately. And so did all my device that only worked on Bluetooth 4. Works in an old computer well

I had an old Bluetooth dongle. It wouldn't work with a newly purchase accessory. Took me a while to figure out that my problem was the outdated Bluetooth standard. This new one works like a charm. I use it to connect a Bluetooth foot pedal to turn music pages. The computer is a 8-year-old All-in-One HP. So, the bottom line is that it works in an old computer and communicates with a new device. Kinda covers all the bases. I'm pleased and didn't pay a lot of money to update Bluetooth to the current standard.

Solid product, very premium packaging for the price.

First off, the package was delivered a week before it was supposed to, which is fantastic to begin with! The product itself is exactly as you'd expect, looks similar to a wireless receiver for a mouse or keyboard. The packaging was easy to open, simply a friction-sealing plastic cover, which gives access to the product along with a 2 page pamphlet. Inside the pamphlet they even included a small driver disc for you Windows 7 users out there! Considering the shipping was free, I got it sooner than expected, there was a driver disk, and the packaging was more than high enough quality, I am very satisfied to give the product an all around 5 star. The bluetooth menu pops up in your toolbox immediately without any need for driver installation in Windows 10, and the advertised 33 foot range is accurate. To test this, I used my AirPods, which have a 35 foot range. I set my phone on my desk, and walked with the AirPods in roughly 40 feet across the house before it cut the signal. I then tried the same, but with a video playing from my computer, and the signal cut at the same spot for both of them. Very satisfied! Tl;dr - Great product, plug and play for Windows 10, the advertised 33ft range is accurate, even comes with a driver disk for those of us with older versions of Windows. Cannot recommend this more!

Wireless music for my desktop

I'm using this to connect my desktop to my old receiver which has a Esinkin bluetooth receiver on it. The product works just has described. It's great using my desktop instead of my cell phone for music at home. I listen to Spotify and Amazon music with no problems. You just go into your settings on the computer and it shows devices. The bluetooth setting is here and it recognizes all devices within the area. Great product.

Great Bluetooth Adapter! Great Price!!! Connects Easily!!!

This is a great Bluetooth Adapter for a great price!!! It connected easily and has a nice little blue light that blinks to show that it is connected. It does help to read the instructions!!! LOL Now, that it has connected with my laptop, it reconnects easily without issue! (I have to tell you that I know that because I have had USB hub issues.) That's how I know!!! And if you travel a lot as I do, you'll definitely be glad that it reconnects easily!!! Just plug it in and turn your laptop on! It reconnects automatically!!!

Best For The Money Out of 6 I've tried

This USB exceeded the 33 ft distance easily and I'm in a metal mobile home with metal studs in the interior walls. I've tried so far 6 different ones and only one worked better but cost double. I'm very happy with this in a Win7 machine. I noticed Win machines are picky about blue tooth, but in my Linux desktop any BT adapter works instantly.

Works!

Using on a Windows 10 desktop, to get music over to a bluetooth speaker across the room (because I didn't want to use my phone as the music source and run down the battery). Installation was ridiculously easy (insert mini-disc in computer, follow on screen install instructions then, once computer install is finished, plug dongle into USB port), and it had no problem finding and pairing with my bluetooth speaker. Connection seems to be steady... Haven't had it stutter or disconnect yet (in the two hours I've been using it so far); then again, I wouldn't expect it to, given that my CPU is only about ten feet from the bluetooth speaker.

plug and play, couldn't be easier

I bought two of these for my pc's at home and work. I go full wireless to avoid desktop clutter and tripping over wires, so bluetooth is essential to me. I just plugged in these USB adapters and Windows set them up in seconds. They easily recognized and paired to all of my bluetooth devices. The signal is strong and never drops within the room unless I move out of sight. I tried a cheaper brand and it couldn't connect to anything. Stick with Avantree.

It allows the computer to transmit bluetooth

This device came with software. Everything installed easily but the bluetooth signal would not activate the device. Removed the software and reinstalled three times with identical results. After fourth removal of software I returned to the bluetooth activation in settings and the bluetooth switch was now visible. I immediately tried my new headphones and the pairing was successful. Been so ever since. This was weird but it works. Thanks.
