I'm very happy with my purchase. Great set of brushes for a very reasonable price. I work part-time as a professional artist and I just started using them.

For the price, it's a winning set of brushes

I know I do things a little different than most guys. If I am going to do a large portrait commission, most often I will do a quick draft first to use as my draft for the final painting. When I do so, I use a student-quality oil paint and I use student quality brushes. I find this set of brushes is find for that purpose. If I forget to clean one of the brushes after I have used it, and the oil hardens, I can just toss it in the trash because the prices will allow me to do so without feeling a twinge of guilt. They are also quite nice looking in my studio along with several different grades of brushes here and there. They are definitely a bargain, yet they are capable of handling life in an active studio.

A good beginners set, comfy

Newer artist here, and these brushes work well. The brushes are soft to the touch and feel good. Also not too heavy, bc that actually does happen for me (smaller hands). They are lighter so they get stained easily, but when i rinse them in really hot water (4-8 min?) the darker colors might stay but they don't show up when I paint again w a lighter color. So far have done watercolor portraits. Will try acrylic soon. :) worth the buy for newer artist or getting your kids a set

i haven't had a chance to use all 12 brushes yet- only 2 but they're way easier to hold onto than the way narrow ones i had for years that i would drop once in a while which REALLY shouldn't be happening at yet at age 32.... i never even realized a brush being a bit wider at the middle makes it easier to grip. they also look like a better quality, somewhat of a shine to them and what drew me to them in the first place was how different most of them are. not just the same cut shape for all the brush bristles like rectangles or squares, then slightly bigger and smaller rectangles for the other brushes in the set. that's comparing these to a certain "superstore" though, i don't live anywhere near an actual art supply or craft store but these are really good!

Great brushes

So I thought these would be just pretty good, but actually they are great. They work really well with gouache and acrylic and I think they'd hold pretty well in oil painting, but I haven't tried that yet. They're soft, the bristles hold really well despite coming sort of bent because of the amazon packaging with other art materials, and there isn't any bristle loss. I haven't dealt with any flaking yet on the handle and that's awesome because I was using heavy water for my last painting. They leave clean brushstrokes if you're looking for brushstrokes but they're great for leaving no brushstrokes as well, depending on how you use them, but the fact you can do both is nice, it can be difficult with some brushes.

Great brushes for the price

I'm not a professional artist, I've always enjoyed painting/drawing as a hobby when I have a lot of free time which isn't often. In the past I have spent money on expensive "quality" brushes from art supply stores that I bought at the recommendation of some of the employees, and although those brushes are great brushes I also didn't take the best care of them like i should have so some of them i can't really use anymore, so I wanted to buy something cheap since I haven't painted in years. These brushes are so soft and I tested them out with some watercolors and they didn't lose any hair so far, which I find is rare among cheap and sometimes even expensive brushes especially because I'm not the most gentle when painting like I should be. They almost feel like brushes that I would use to apply makeup.

AMAZING! I haven’t had the opportunity to try these brushes until recently, but I remembered thinking—whoa. These are pretty neat-looking brushes—when I first got them out the package. But they were so, so, so much more than neat-looking. These brushes are beautiful—BEAUTIFUL when you hold it, and absolutely smooth (but they hold). I know that’s not the right description for it, but really, one can feel the quality as soon as they’re used the first time. The bristles stay intact, and acrylics work so well with them! I can’t describe how amazing they are well enough! Though I do wish that it came with a case, (or can we actually buy one?), overall, this is a very impressive product. Thank you very much for these brushes! Not just five stars—TEN stars!

What A Deal!

It is a spectacular deal. I go through paint brushes like I go through underwear! These brushes are great for watercolor and I also paint with water based oils. They are good quality, and did not shed a single bristle onto my painting. If even one bristle came loose and I had to scratch it off of my canvas, i would not be singing any praises. FOR SURE! I found these brushes to be really great especially for the price, they arrived on time, and were exactly what I expected. You know, I get that buying expensive stuff usually means that you will get quality. Well, sometimes you gotta give something a chance, I mean if these brushes were awful, I would use them for cleaning and for throw away uses. But I have already gotten 4 paintings worth of use out of them, and literally only destroyed 2 of them, for me, that's amazing!
