It's possible I have an unnatural love of my Instant Pot. I use it several times a week but have stayed away from deserts and making yogurt. I tried both a few times and they have had a slight taste of fish or roast beef. Not good. The cause was baffling until I checked out YouTube and discovered I could buy extra sealing rings, each designated for different foods. And they come in colors so I can remember which ring to use for the different foods. There are so many toys to buy for my Instant Pot, but these are must-haves...unless you like your yogurt with a fishy taste.

The one I that came with my instant pot had odor to it after the first dish I cooked. This two pack gives me one to use to with savory and one to use with sweet if I choose too. The only reason I replaced mine was because it had lost is shape and was not sealing properly. I washed it in the dishwasher and do not think I will do that again. Never had a problem with it until after doing that. The guide states they are dishwasher safe, but I think I will soak mine in vinegar and baking soda and hand wash them from now on.

When we first starting cooking with the Instant Pot, we were immediately impressed with how simple, fast, and variable the appliance was. Our one complaint - the sealing ring. We cook a lot of meals with lots of intense (and often quite pungent) spices. Our first few meals of Tika Masala, spicy korean soup, and jerk-seasoned chicken were excellent. However, my apple crumble came out a little spicy... Not ideal. Our flavorful beginnings had no place in a sweet desert, and the sealing ring's inability to truly lose the smell/color of our first spices was ruining our more savory meals. Now, I've got a ring for savory, a ring for sweet, and a ring for spicy. The colors make it easy and the quality of each ring is equivalent to that of the ring that came with the pot. For the price, you can't beat it. It's a must have accessory.

Your cooker infuses this silicon ring with a smell, and most cooks can make do with a blend of herbs that smells savory and can include onions, garlic, and whatever else you use often in dishes. But making yogurt, cake, or even cornbread demands a spare ring to use for the sweeter concoctions you make, therefore at least one more ring should be in your kitchen. I use my original white for almost everything, and the blue for baking brownies and such. The red will be used for anything tomato-ey. This product seems durable and despite an odor, comes clean easily.

I purchased this so I would have a back up sealing ring for my Instant Pot, and very glad I did! I have two liners also. If you’re like me, you use your Instant Pot often. I have made butter chicken for dinner and yum it’s tasty but I don’t want my ring smelling like butter chicken, and potentially transferring that flavor or smell when I make my yogurt. A second liner and ring mean I don’t have to wait to make something else while the sealing ring is going through the dishwasher. Added tip after the sealing ring is washed make sure it’s dry and store in a ziplock with a little baking soda :) then rinse before you use the sealing ring the next time.

This is a must-have for your Instant Pot. It’s essential to clean the ring after each use. Leaving it in place and washing it in the lid is not a good idea, you’ll never get the ring clean when it’s in place in the lid. I was it in hot soapy water and rinse it well. If I think it needs further cleaning, I’ll put the ring in the instant pot, add 18 oz of water, put on the lid— with another ring in place and pressure cook it on normal pressure setting for 5 minutes. Depressurize as normal, remove the ring that was in the pot, empty out the instant pot, remove the ring in the lid and let everything dry. Works like a charm.

Purchased a set of these actual Instant Pot brand sealing rings. With a high pressure appliance, taking no chances with aftermarket. Had purchased non Instant Pot rings which were real flimsy and did not feel of the Instant Pot quality. I like the red and blue's! Red for beef and blue for chicken, and the original clear for other meals. Made Instant Pot spaghetti, used my red beef one, which smelled like the meat I cooked with it. Used the red due to the same color spaghetti sauce. After 4 cleanings, it still smells like spaghetti sauce, same as our kitchen towels do after that meal. Cannot get rid of the smell! So I purchased 2 more sets of these red and blues. 1 red for spaghetti, 1 for beef. I blue for chicken and other blue for something else. These actual Instant Pot rings are well worth the money and are well made.

I was just about to write a negative review on this product, but i decided to give it ONE MORE TRY...I had tried the new, clear sealing ring twice before and both times it leaked horribly, but in the interest of fairness, i decided to try it again. before starting, i REALLY examined the ring, and lo and behold, there was a small spot of silicone on part of it, like a little drip or something. i scratched it off, and when i put the ring back in (i put it with the logo on the bottom part, don't know if this made any difference or not?) and set it to 2 mins with 3 cups of water per the "getting started" instructions in the booklet that came with the machine, IT WORKED PERFECTLY!! I'm so glad, because i am past the return window and i thought i got ripped off, and i HATE to get ripped off. anyway, check your sealing ring really, really well if youre having problems and maybe it'll fix it :)

Essential for instant pot users who want to make both sweet and savory things (Yes, you can make cheesecake in your pressure cooker. Yes, it is awesome. Yes, it will taste slightly like chicken broth if you don't change out the ring). One of the replacement units I got was faulty and let steam escape, but the next was fine! Note that I've never had a ring break down on me - but after frequent and extended use, they do discolor and develop a savory food odor.

Our Instant Pot is now three years old and we're getting sick of the stained original ring that's been used hundreds of times. These red and blue replacements work just as well as the original, were a reasonable price, and were easy to purchase as an accessory. Plus, they fit multiple sizes, so if/when we upgrade, we'll be covered. I'm impressed that the current ring is still perfectly functional (just stained), so now we have three total and can be more adventurous in spices without worrying about contamination of our only ring. Overall we love our Instant Pot, use it at least 3x per week, and are super glad that it has a wide variety of spare parts and accessories right here where we bought it.
