Pretty good hoods
I just got this set so this is a first impression. I think this is a good value and a clever kit. I just bought a used Nikon 28-200 zoom lens which came with the correct Nikon lens hood, (HB-12) which is huge. It makes the lens look like a trumpet. And I don't think it is effective at shading the lens, too shallow and wide. Rather than protect t, I think it makes the lens easier to damage. To be clear, this set consists of two hoods, one tulip solid plastic hood and a collapsable two position rubber hood. Not meant for use at the same time. I always like rubber hoods for the protection they give even when retracted. This one does vignette at full wide angle but is fine at the half position. Adjusting it is an extra step if you are busy shooting but the vignette isn't that bad if you forget. The tulip hood is solid plastic and cleverly designed. An inner ring screws into the lens. The hood snaps in place using sprung ball bearings. Of course, the hood is free to rotate, and it takes some attention to keep in position. Not so bad, but it is a down side. Yes, it is reversible. The Nikon lens cap that came with my lens sits too deep in the ring to reach the release buttons on its sides, but the one in this kit has recessed release finger pinches on the front, just right for the lens hoods. This is a pretty detailed review considering I haven't taken a single photo with it yet. I'll revise it if I find I missed anything. Given the price, I am not disappointed.

Perfect pack for my Canon 80D with EF-S 18-55mm & EF-S 55-250mm
This pack is perfect for the recent Canon kit I got. The kit included two lenses, the EF-S 18-55mm and the EF-S 55-250mm. This is exactly what I needed - the plastic tulip hood is great for the 18-55mm to prevent vignetting while still preventing lens flares, and the full round rubber hood is excellent for the 55-250mm; even when the rubber is fully extended there's no vignetting since that lens is looking much further out. I'm keeping the extra lens cap as a backup, and the microfiber cloth it comes with is a nice touch since I somehow couldn't find one in all my stuff. Overall, this thing hits my needs exactly at the right price. For most of my accessories, I stick with high-end stuff, like only Hoya filters, only Canon brand batteries, etc. But for hoods, I'm all about saving money and getting whatever works, and these work.

This is really great. My other lens hood is hard and I ...
This is really great. My other lens hood is hard and I couldn't use a lens cap with it. Very annoying. This can be adjusted our just go flat. I can use a lens cap with it so I don't have to keep talking it off to protect my lens.

Now my pancake lens looks serious!
Why I bought it: Vanity, pure and simple. I am using this with a pancake lens to make it look like a "real" lens instead of a toy. I recommend this if you are concerned about what other people think about the size of your ... lens. Bonus points: The center-pinch lens cap with elastic tether is, honestly, the best type of lens cap available. If you don't have a lens cap like this, you could buy this kit just the cap... especially if you are prone to losing lens caps! You can pay almost as much for this lens cap alone as they are asking for this kit that includes the 2 hoods, lens cap, and microfiber cloth. Most Important: Neither the soft rubber hood nor the tulip hood are visible in the frame on my crop-sensor camera (24mm crop equals full-frame equivalent of 38mm.) It is light-weight and does not interfere with the auto-focus motor on 24mm Canon STM EF-S.

Great Value
Nice kit! I was looking for two items, a rubber shade and a lens cap for my Canon 40mm f2.8 STM lens. This kit provided both as well as the hard plastic hood. I am utilizing the rubber hood and see no vignetting. The lens cap is similar in operation to what Canon sells. Plus a cleaning cloth was included. I am pleased with my purchase.

It is good to help protect the front end of the lens ...
There's not much to say. The two lens hoods do the job. With my Canon EF-S 18-55 IS STM lens, the rubber hood will show up in photo when the zoom is at and around 18mm. This quickly goes away as I zoom the lens. However, that is not a problem because the rubber hood is adjustable to 3 lengths. The middle setting does not show up. The tulip flower hood does not show up at all in the photo at any lens setting. I keep this one on all the time. It is good to help protect the front end of the lens along with the UV filter I always have on the lens to protect the optics. The pinch lens cap is as good as the original Canon cap. Good quality and a decent price...I'm happy with this item.

Great product and great company. A lens hood kit worth buying.
I purchased the 55mm and 58mm lens hoods and I am really impressed with these kits. They appear to be well constructed and are easy to use. A feature that I find really beneficial, is the ability to change the tulip lens hoods from front facing (taking pictures) to rear facing (storage) without having to unscrew the mounting ring. The hood is constructed so that it snaps on and off the mounting ring. When mounted, it is on securely, but switching is very easy. This is helpful in reducing the chances of cross threading by having to unscrew the hood each time you want to switch functions. I also like the fact that the hoods can be used with the provided lens cap. The lens hood kits are a real value when it comes to the quality and cost. I am glad that I purchased them. The 58mm collapsible hood that I received did not have the proper threading to mount it to the lens. When I contacted Veatree, they were quick to respond. They stand behind their product and are replacing the defective part. I was quite impressed with the customer service that they provided and I would be happy to buy from them again.
