It's easy enough to change the numbers, but not easy for the numbers to change themselves -- a real positive when you're toting your knitting project around in a bag. Counters are a must when knitting/crocheting to pattern. It doesn't come with a lanyard to hang it on, but I just used a length of hot-pink scrap yarn (I used a bright color so it would be easier to find at the bottom of my knitting bag. Highly recommend.

My experience with Clover knitting products has been a very positive one over the past couple of years. When I decided to purchase a stitch counter to begin a large project, it wasn't a question for me as to which manufacturer I would choose. Clover is one of a few companies that still believes in quality control, and it shows. This stitch counter is solidly made, and I suspect that it will last for years. Clover products are slightly more expensive than some unknown brands listed here, but I'd rather buy a first-rate product once than buy a second-rate product and repurchase a replacement for it when it breaks - and deal with the aggravation in the meantime. This particular ad is for two "Kacha-Kachas" -- cleverly named for the sound these stitch counters make in use. I guess I'll have to go to work on two blankets now.

Two things make this the perfect knitting counter. 1. You can hang it around your neck - so there's no constant hunting for your counter. 2. It has a lock - so little ones can't click, click, click on it when you aren't looking!

Love, love, love this sturdy line counter! My electronic counter died in the middle of a project requiring accurate line counts. I ordered this counter on the weekend and two days later it arrived. It's typical Clover quality and I'm sure it will last a long time. I may even order a second one so I can switch between projects. I highly recommend this counter!

I have two of these and I adore them. I wear it around my neck and use it to count rows. I tried the little row counters that slide onto your needles, and an app on my phone, but I would forget to use it and miss rows. For some reason, this one works better for me. Maybe it's the satisfying click!

used to use a pen and paper, this is so much easier! thanks to Mikey on The Crochet Crowd

Its small, counts rows, and inexpensive. What more can I say? I like the locking feature, that makes it nice when I'm doing a large project that I start and stop often. You can't spin the wheel to back it up if you have to tear out a row...you must either advance it around to get the the previous #. Not a big deal.

I have been crocheting for sometime now and recently got into knitting as well. With knitting this is a NEED to have so you don't loose your spot, it's great if you need to put your project down for a while too and come back to it later (as I have done b/c of moving!). I personally think these little things are over priced for what they are, and this didn't come with a string as I had thought it would have, but even with those minor negatives it's a great product! I'm glad I bought this one and not a different brand. This is super easy to use and the great part is you can lock it too! So even if it gets bumped in your project bag - no worries! Highly recommend for fellow knitters & crocheters :)

I use this with any of my knitting projects where I have to keep track of the rows. When knitting a repeat pattern, this is indispensable for keeping track of where you are in the pattern. I keep it out on the table beside me where I knit, then when I finish a pattern row, I cans grab the counter, click the top to increase the count, and go right back to my knitting. If I leave the knitting for a while, it's easy peasy to look at the row number on the counter and know where I left off in the pattern. Definitely a necessary and useful item for anyone who knits.

Works perfectly! I almost didn't buy this one because an earlier review says that you can't easily reset the count. That is incorrect -- the small wheels on either side let you manually adjust the numbers from 0 - 9. It's easy to reset to zero or to turn the count back if you make a mistake. One warning: watch out if you have little kids! My 4 year old finds this thing irresistible and has thrown off my row count more than once. On the plus side, it's great for counting practice :)
