Should Be OEM

I always wanted this and stumbled across this product by accident. I keep my GoPro on my helmet to charge and did not necessarily like not having the door attached 24/7 and feared I would lose the access door by accident. This allows me to keep the door on the GoPro and simply open it to charge it everyday without taking the camera out of the mount or taking the access door off. I can confirm that it does not feel as firm as OEM GoPro products, but I am not opening/closing the mount at all. If you think you will constantly take your camera in/out of the mount I would recommend having a spare or two as I could see how repeated use or light abuse could break it as the plastic is somewhat thin. However, for my purposes, its perfect.

NEEDED this so badly! So glad you made it!

We just upgraded from the 4Silver to the 7 Black and we are so disappointed that we can't access the charging port or the SD card through the GoPro frame that came with it. A fellow youtuber told us about this one he found and it is much easier to remove the GoPro from this housing than the original...and the best part is accessing the door for the charger. Wish we could get to the SD card but that's GoPro's fault! LOL Thank you for inventing this! 5 stars!

Does what it needs to do, just handle with care

I see all these reviews claiming this housing is flimsy or breaks easily. I've got news for you all: you get what you pay for. For less than $10, this is an awesome housing and does exactly what I need it to do. Just be sure to handle carefully when removing/installing housing on GoPro, as it does have a gentle feel to it. I've had it for about 3 months now and haven't encountered a single problem. Was using a waterproof housing on my GoPro because I use the GoPro as a dash cam. Only issue was I couldn't charge so I'd be left with an almost dead battery after a long drive. This is why I bought this case and it's done an excellent job so far, as a dash cam setup and hiking/backpacking in the mountains. For less than $10, you can't find a better deal.

Better fit than the original GoPro 7 black housing!

Better fit than the original GoPro 7 black housing!. I was looking an additional housing for my new GoPro 7 black and I end up purchase total of 3 of these :), the original go pro housing seems a little tight to put it in out take it out the camera. This one fit perfect and you can also have access to the HDMI/USB C PORTS without removing the water seal tab. The lens cap fit nice. Only time will tell how durable theses are, I only had it for 1 day and I’m impressed. I’m not easy to be impress :)

Perfection!

F-I-N-A-L-L-Y!!!!! A frame that fits my Hero5 Black and allows me to plug into a cigarette lighter or cable so I don't need to constantly change out my batteries!! I use my GoPro constantly, including every time I'm out riding my motorcycle or snowmobile. A couple years ago, I switched out my Silver for the Black, and although I love this camera dearly, the housing frame that the Black comes in does not allow you to open the compartment where you can plug in a cable. It's a pain to have to stop almost every hour to put in a new battery, as well as trying to remember to bring as many extra batteries as I think may be necessary for the trip. So now with this new housing frame, I can plug it into my vehicle battery and eliminate several stops. This frame is a perfect fit for a perfect camera! I would highly recommend this frame to anyone who uses their GoPro in any motorized vehicle.

Fits well in bike mounts

I bought this case so that I may be able to use my camera outside of the waterproof casing to have clearer sound in my videos when mounting to my road bike. My main concern was finding the right frame that will fit into those bike mounts tightly and securely to ensure no wobbling or swaying from the contact point. I will say that this frame does a pretty good job at staying still, however, you can still push it up or down by a few degrees with some effort. I have NOT yet taken it out for a test run, so time will tell if this product is worth the purchase.

Great customer support

Bought this for use with my new Hero 7 Black as I wanted to be able to open the charging door without having to keep taking it out of the case. It works as described. I did have an issue with the quick release mount were one of the foot pieces broke off after the second or third use. I contacted Soonsun and without questions they sent me out a complete replacement. I wasn't expecting them to send me a second one, just a replacement quick release. I value great customer support like that. Oh and the case does work well with the Hero 7 Black to be able to charge or do time-lapse on over night while keeping the hero plugged in.

Awesome frame that allows access to the charging port

I originally thought that the OEM GoPro frame covers up 2 of the 3 microphones of the camera so I bought this frame to expose all microphones. After closer inspection that was not the case. However, I still like this frame for giving me access to the HDMI/USB C PORTS door so don't have to take the GoPro out of the frame each time I need to charge or transfer files. The included lens cover is also nice - it protects the lens when I want to toss the GoPro into my backpack.

Good fit, nice finish, perfect for my use

I purchased this cage after trying an aluminum cage and another brand plastic cage. This one is perfect for me. Although the aluminum cage worked, the microphones holes are not quite right and the camera fit was so tight I could hardly get the camera out to change the battery. The aluminum cage is also much heavier. This cage fits nice, I can easily remove the camera to change the battery and all the required microphone cutouts are in the right places. I also prefer the smooth finish of this cage as opposed to the other plastic cage that has a rubberized finish. This cage is EXACTLY what I was looking for.

Better than OEM

The one I purchased is for the GoPro 6. You can charge/data transfer without removing from the case. All audio ports are open, which will be better when using while walking around or during slower activities. I'll use the stock case to cut down on wind noise when applicable since the mics are covered by GoPro. The molds and fit are better than GoPro. It's not quite as hard to snap the locking mechanism. The camera has no freeplay. Seems to have a deeper front lip for a more solid fit. This product truly is better than what comes with the camera and worth every penny of the selling price.
