A very good choice for mobile users.

I bought this to replace an older external USB 2.0 external DVD drive. I am a trial attorney. I get a lot of evidence from police agencies and the DA on CDs and DVDs, which I transfer to hard drive as soon as I get it. I have an ultraportable laptop with no optical drive. This drive works extremely well. Transfer speeds are several times faster than my old drive. That saves me a lot of time. The integrated cable simplifies things. I have a lot on my mind, and have forgotten to bring cables along too many times to count. Overall, I’m very happy with this drive. I would recommend it to a friend, and would buy it again if the need arose.

Confoly Superdrive is awesome!

I received the Confoly USB-C Superdrive last night. This superdrive is a hub to hub connection on my new MPB thunderbolt 3 port. When I first connected it I saw nothing on the desktop or anywhere else on the Mac computer. When I inserted a CD into it, iTunes popped up with all the information on the CD. When I inserted a DVD into the drive "My DVD Player" (software that comes with the Mac) opened, and started to play the movie. When a disk is inserted you will see a disk on your desktop right click on it to eject the disk. The superdrive is a solid piece with no eject button, and the drive does not open. The drive behaves just like the superdrive Macs used to come installed with. This is an extremely easy device to use, and feels very sturdy. The Confoly comes with a USB adapter in case you do not have the thunderbolt USB-C port on your computer. I would recommend this product to a friend.

Impressive

I bought this for my MacBook Pro with Touch Bar. Very impressed with the packaging and construction. It was packaged and I looks like an Apple product, meaning it is well very well done with care. Space Grey matches the MacBook Pro perfectly. Plug it in and it just works. Plays DVD and CD with no issues. Will have to see how it holds up long term, but for $20 less than the Apple Superdrive and with the USC-B plug, and no adapter needed, well worth it.

Very nice USB-C Superdrive!

This arrived securely packaged in a very nice case with an instruction card and usb adapter. I was happy to find this superdrive with the new usbC cord to fit my new MacBook Pro PLUS an adapter for my older computer. Easy, works great and excellent value with the included case (seriously nice case!) & adapter. I will update here if I have any problems but happy so far and very happy with the seller.

Great external superdrive

This is a nice external superdrive. It works burns and plays DVDs on my 2017 MacBook Pro as well as an older mid-2010 MBP (using the USB-C to USB-A converter included) without any special drivers. I am running High Sierra 10.13. I even got it to work with my wife's nearly 10 year old Dell laptop. I had some trouble initially, but Customer Service was extremely prompt and helpful in resolving the problem. The device itself if small and very attractive. I will point out that that USB cable does come directly out of the back of the drive rather than being detachable.

Works with USBC MacBook Pro with touch bar

This works with my late– 2016 Mac book Pro with touch bar usb-c. This also works with the application MDRP which permits burning of Netflix DVDs. I also confirmed that this works with my MacBook from around the year 2007 using the provided USB to USB C attachment.

Previously purchased a different drive. Finally got it to match up with my new 2017 MacBook Pro. Plugged in the Confoly - Voila! Just like the good old days, when Apple still believed folks wanted internal cd drives and a varied selection of ports. But, you know - slim, light, cool looking...

Best DVD drive I have owned

I bought this as I am on a RV trip, left my DVD drive at home, and need one to transfer photos from DVDs. I shoot film and there is a great camera store here in Savannah that still processes film! Glad I left my old drive at home as this one requires no adapters for my MacBook Pro and it is fast. I was also impressed with how well the drive was packaged from the factory, and there is a very nice and protective carry case included. It ejects the disc very smoothly, better than my noisy Apple drive. I also received an email from the seller prior to getting the drive that gave me a contact should there be a problem which shows me they care about the customers satisfaction.

Works seamlessly with MacBook.

This drive plays and burns cd’s with no problem on my new MacBook because it plugs directly into the usb-c opening without needing a hub to connect. I tried other less expensive drives that stopped working after several times because of the hub connection. It was well worth it to me to spend a little more for this one. Now I can get done what I need to with no more headaches and hassles. Added 7/23/18 After using the drive for a few months it stopped working. I contacted Confoly through Amazon and they sent me a new one as a replacement. The new one is working fine. You cannot beat the customer service of this company!
