Perfect size and shape.

I am lost without a trash receptacle of some sort in my car but with my new Mercedes SUV, there didn't seem to be an inconspicuous place in the car to put one. I had a plastic one that fit between my two front seats in my past car but that wasn't going to work in my new car. Then I saw this hard bin on Amazon and it seemed perfect to sit on the hump of the floor in the back seat. and Voila! it does. it has little spikes on the two flaps that hold it in place to your car's carpet and it never slips. and it's so convenient for me to reach behind me and pop trash into it from either driver's side or passenger side of the front seat. It's the perfect size too.

Great non tipping trash can!

Trash bin is kind of small but I love the two “feet” that it has. I was getting so annoyed with the trash can I had because it kept tipping over. Problem solved with this and it makes me so happy! It sits in the middle of my 2nd row in my miniva for my kids to have access to. I just wish it was a touch bigger :)

Doe not move around on flat minivan floor

There isn't much to this garbage can but it certainly feels robustly constructed. The silicone/rubber base is secured with hardware not just glue. Also, the base is thick and heavy enough to keep the can solidly in place. Turns at moderate speed with a fairly full can are not enough to tip it over or knock it loose. I haven't done any extensive failure mode testing but under regular operational condition, the can performs great.

easily reachable from both driver and passenger seats

Fits perfectly over the hump on my new GLC300, easily reachable from both driver and passenger seats. It's sturdy and doesn't tip. I'm kind of surprised that I am this happy about a trash can, but it's really a good find! Make sure you get the larger version of this...there are also smaller ones out there but they'd be too tiny to hold anything but a few tissues and gum wrappers.

Sturdy, and It Won't Flip Over

I love this trash can. The flaps on each side of the can, keep it from flipping over. The can itself, is not too big, but not too little. It also doesn't take up too much room. A passenger can still sit comfortably with the can at his/her feet. I like that the trash can is a sturdy, and can be washed. It's also very nice looking.

Fits hump in back seat area

I have had a hard trash bin (same one) in my various cars for over 40 years, but have been unable to find one in the stores for years. We have more than one car and I wanted one for the other car. This one is huge compared to my old one; a plastic veggie bag fits in perfectly. No, this is not a grocery bag size but you should not be accumulating garbage in you car anyway! Take out the cups and bottles; there are trash receptacles at every gas station. A secret: I have used this bin to pee in twice - one snowstorm and one ice storm, stuck in traffic with cars all around. What else can you do when traffic is stopped for 3-4 hours in a five lane parking lot and you have to go? I am buying 2 for Christmas presents.

Best car trash can out there

An Amazon customer saw my negative review of a similar garbage can that was too small and sent me a link to this. I am SO glad he did!!! This is a perfect size can for any car. I use it in my Rav 4. It stands on the floor in the passenger area and is very stable. I put a waste basket sized plastic bag in it and it holds plenty of trash--from Starbucks cups to toddler trash.

This thing is really great. It's hard to find a good trash solution. The ones that hang from the seat back are good in concept but hang in the faces of rear passengers and have clips and straps, whereas this couldn't be simpler. It's full, you take out out, dump it, and toss it back in. I have a Lincoln MKX that has almost no hump and a Honda Fit that has a big hump and it works great in both. The size is perfect, any bigger and it would block rear vents and also get into the foot areas of passengers. It holds a surprising amount of stuff! I had a crumpled Wendy's bag, taco bell cup, McDonald's cup, Starbucks glass bottle, wrappers, kid wipes, napkins, and an altoid tin in there when I dumped it today. Yes, that's a lot of fast food. Don't judge. My daughter can toss stuff in it easily from he car seat, and it's an easy reach for me and my wife from the front. Also stays put. No more trash filled passenger side foot wells for me!

Make sure it will fit where it’s going to go

Make sure it will fit where it’s going to go. I thought it was a no-brainer that it would fit but I have a new to me truck (F150) It has a fold down the center seat in front and as you can see the head rest for that is sort of in the way of the garbage can but I believe it will still work and it’s just so nice to have a trashcan in the car. Love it

I love this trash bin. There, I've said it. Its sturdy and attractive, fits well on the floor between the back seats of my 2009 Forester, and DOES NOT MOVE (thanks to the little nubbies on the underside of the flaps), holds a more-than-reasonable amount of trash, is leak-proof (and so has been used a few times as a tiny cooler), washes easily, and looks like it was made for my vehicle. If none of that does it for you, get this : my husband not only uses this trash bin, he had me order a second one for his truck.
