Coconix leather repair kit

Very easy to use leather repair kit. I initially used just the dark brown to repair a hole in the arm of my leather couch. It did not match so i used some alcohol to remove the patch. I then mixed a tad of black in with the brown and got an exact match. It was easy to do the patch. I touched it up with some very light use of alcohol on a Q tip. The alcohol dried out the area where I had made the patch, so i used a leather wipe that is infused with lanolin or some chemical that makes the leather look new. This was my first attempt at trying to repair a hole in my leather couch. You cannot tell where the hole was or where i patched it.

Great repair kit for peeling fake leather

I am a 74 yr. old man with a dog. He damaged my fake leather sofa and I damaged my fake leather chair. In both cases the fake leather was peeling off. I found this repair kit on Amazon and ordered it. I received the product and had a few questions about its use. Sent an e mail to the company. To my surprise I got a response and sound advice to get the best of my repair within about one hour. If I knew how to post before and after pictures I would, but I don't. You can hardly tell, except by close inspection that there was a peeling area. The best advice I received was be patient. I highly recommend this product. It really does work. It works if you take your time

First I read through the 5 star reviews. I figured these folks did it right. I picked up some tips. Since the tear I had was a stress point, I used Gorilla Glue for the sticking power on the underside of my tear. I then used Coconix for the finishing work. Here are the tips: * Use the 90% alcohol. If you use a lower percent you will be adding water before your color mix. That is probably what happened on the few that say it never dried. * It was a bit sticky to the touch for a few days, but did cure completly * Use a toothpick to stir the color you use, and to drop a little color mix at a time. * Use the mixing pot, so you will not use too much of your base color if you need to mix a color. The screw top lid will keep it wet between applications. * Make several applications, starting at edges, until you have a fairly even surface. Then when dty, use the 90% alcohol to smooth it. * Plan it on a weekend you need drying time between applications, I left a fan blowing on the repair between applications My repair was actually on vinyl. The leather seats had vinyl below, and that is what had torn loose at the seam. Just over 3 years old and out of warranty. I only used white and a little black, but the price of the Coconix kit was well worth saving the seat from further damage. Much cheaper than reupholstering the seat, and better solution than adding a cheap seat cover. The repair has lasted over a month, and seems to be holding strong.

Great Product & great customer service.

Used product to repair two large holes in leather car seat. One was a cut about two inches long on the edge of the driver's seat and the other was a large area like a brush burn (with a hole the size of a dime in the center) on the back of the driver's seat from someone leaving a tool in his pocket while getting in and out of the car (without moving the seat back far enough...really large and bad damage). Repaired both damaged areas over a month ago and I think the repairs are even stronger than the original leather. I needed a little more brown and black repair material and the company was kind enough to send me what I needed...communicating promptly via e-mail and keeping me informed in a timely manner. Knowing this product exists takes the fear out of buying leather furniture. Fantastic product!

Great product

Great product. I ripped my leather couch so I used gorilla glue to glue it back together and then I went over it with the paint. You need to be able to mix colors well. It dried within an hour and there wasn't a strong smell. it is barely visible now

Easy to use but takes a lot of time to dry.

When this kit arrived, I realized that I made a mistake since it doesn't have actual adhesive, and "compound" is basically mix of glue and paint. I have Tear Mender and I used it to patch the tear from underneath the torn leather. When it was completely glued together and dried (in about 15 minutes total) I used compound to fill the hole and paint it. While I was trying to level the inside of it with the leather I discovered that it takes forever even for a very thin layer to cure (to dry out), so you have to be really patient and wait about 24-36 hours for it to completely dry. I even tried to blow dry it, but well :) it didn't work. Have to be patient. Plus I have a black couch, so I need black only. This kit does not have enough black for an 1" hole. I had three holes in my couch. Each of them was just a little less than 1/3" and I didn't have enough of black compound to fill the hole and to level it with the edges of the leather. Customer Service is amaozing!!! They reached out me after reading my review and offered one more set for free to complete my couch repair. Selling single color is their work in project, so eventually they will start selling compound by single color. Overall I like it. Just be very patient due to long drying time.

This actually works!

This works! Make sure you follow the video that you access when you scan the QR code. Start with a small spot first. Be patient. Keep going over the tear or blemish several times until the compound is set (I wish I did). Following the color-chart was the most difficult part to be able to match my couch. I added a darker shade (black) to make the compound darker and it was not on the chart. Thank you for this product. I was afraid I would have to purchase a new sofa that I could not afford. Thank you for the clear instructions and great value for the price.

Coconix is the right company for your leather repairs! I read a bunch of reviews online for products offered on Amazon and decided Coconix was the one to try. I was not disappointed. My family is in the process of moving. We have been spot painting and getting the house in top listing shape. The house looks amazing, but a few of our leather chairs where not going to show well at all… and possibly cast a shadow on our home. Plus, I really hated how they looked and was ready to get rid of them all together. I ordered Coconix leather repair for our media room leather sectionals. The two middle chairs had big rips in the leather headrest area. The damage started small, but my 5-yr old daughter kept tearing more leather away. We ended up with a grapefruit sized tear on one headrest, and a few long wear marks on the other. I unfortunately didn't take before pictures, but I do have the in between pics. They are wet now, and I will need to follow-up once they dry with rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball after they dry, to smooth out the area. Unless you are looking up close you cannot even notice the areas. Before the repair, they were huge eye sores. I am so glad I decided to try this on my own and not call a professional company to do the repairs. The media room chairs look so good, I decided to cover a few spots on two different office chairs we have as well. The difference is night and day. Now your eye is not drawn to those spots, and the chairs have new life. Beyond the fact that the product solved my problem, and the fix was a minimal cost, the company was amazing to work with! They truly are focused on customer satisfaction. I started the media chairs last week, but then ran out of the primary color I needed. I decided to contact the company directly because I only needed one color, and hoped they could sell me just the color I needed. Clementine, from Coconix, contacted me right away and helped me with my problem. They don’t sell just one color, but she helped me anyways. She sent me more of the color I needed right away. I never could have imagined how willing they would be to help me get maximum results on repairs. They are dedicated to customer satisfaction. A++ in my book!

Great product and super price for the results I got!

This worked way better than I had hoped! My dog has left some small tears in my vinyl couch and love seat and I was VERY impressed with the results! I was unclear about what was in the package when I purchased it, and so to be clear, it comes with small containers of a paint like substance that when mixed should match what you are fixing. (There is also an instruction sheet that tells you what to do and which colors to mix to make sure you get the right color). Also, it suggests after it dries to use a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol to help even everything out. DO NOT SKIP THIS STEP!!!! I was amazed at how well everything blended together after this step! The only thing I wish was that you could purchase the individual containers of color. I did not have enough brown (because that was the base color I used) and I do not want to buy another whole kit just for one color. And perhaps you can...I just e-mailed the company and asked them and so I'll let you know as soon as I find out. Again, a great product and super price for the results I got! Very pleased customer! Update: I e-mailed the company just over two hours ago on a SUNDAY none the less, and have already heard back! They are working on selling the containers individually but haven't started yet, so they are sending me the entire kit FREE OF CHARGE so I can finish my repairs! Now, this is truly an amazing company! So refreshing to see such great customer service! So impressed!
