I placed this on the door from our kitchen to our garage. Because the garage is not heated the draught flowing under the door was cold and made the heat go on constantly--our home is all electric and each room has its own baseboard heater. The door sweep was really solidly built. I expected to get something that was maybe half the thickness of what I did get so I was pleasantly surprised. It took about five minutes to put the thing on. My only complaint there is that the tacks/staples they include are pretty flimsy so I wound up bending a number of them without them going into the door. In other words, they wound up in the garbage. BUT...! But, of those that did not get tossed, they are stuck in the door solidly and because I have a small rug there (to wipe shoes when you enter) that the sweep hits every time the door is open, I'm continually amazed that it hasn't ripped the thing off, or even damaged it in any way--I mean this thing is built like the proverbial s@#*house! I don't expect to be in need of a new one for the next 20 years, at least. For seven bucks you simply can't go wrong. There isn't anything at Home Depot or Lowes that is of any better quality than this. I definitely recommend it to anybody who has a drafty spot at the bottom of their dorr and isn't very handy. If you even know what a hammeris and you're able to swing one, even just a little, you can put this on all by yourself> And, as a bonus, you can tell everyone you know that you are the one who sent that cold and drafty wind back to Alaska where it belongs...for good! You won't be sorry. I'm sure not.

so i got this for the bottom of my steel security screen door. unfortunately, the bottom of the security screen has a VERRRRRRRRRRY narrow strip of metal at the bottom of the frame. immediately above it is a recessed screen that's full of holes. i did NOT expect this to stick and remain stuck... especially since the bottom of the weather stripping is making contact with the floor, i totally expected it to come off when opening and closing the door - and then i'd have to super glue or gorilla glue it on which i was totally prepared to do. but that adhesive strip is STRONG! it's hanging onto that thin band of metal at the bottom of the door and it's not coming off. super impressed and really pleased that i'll be able to keep the door open without critters crawling under the screen door! great product!

So far, this seems to be exactly what I was looking for. I needed to close the big gap under the back door to my garage. This product goes on very easily and the adhesive is really sticky. The material is very soft so you can get it right down to the ground and the door still opens fine. We will have to see how long it stays on there, but for now... perfect!

The product works well for controlling light from hallways, and reducing noise. A wood floor on both sides of a door bottom (where a door bottom that’s 1 to 1.5” off the ground) allows noise, i.e. tv, music, talking, etc travel from one room to the hallway, etc.. A door sweep like this has eliminates bright light from shining through and we have found it reduces noise from echoing and coming through as well. Of course it helps with draft too. We don’t have crawling bugs in our house so that’s not an issue for us. However, i have considered it for the food pantry door just in case that issue could be a problem.

I bought these sweeps in a desperate attempt to block rats and mice from getting into our water heater closet. I didn't fault it for the fact that it will not stand up to these animals, I'm faulting it for the fact that the sticky tape will destroy the door paint. They also do not look as thick as pictured in the ad. But mice and rats will chew through these in a matter of a few minutes, it's a word of precaution for those thinking about using these for pest control, and I should have known better, so this is my fault. They may do a decent job for bugs. The company reached out after reading about my concerns and issued a refund. They went above and beyond for their customers, highly recommend the sweep if you need to stop a draft or bugs from getting in.

I was concerned this product would end up looking very cheap on my bedroom door. Instead, it blends in nicely with the white color that I painted the door. My main reason for buying this was because I installed 1/4" engineered hard wood floors to replace what had been fairly thick carpet. That left a large gap beneath my door since I also extended the hardwood floor out into the hallway that leads into my room. As advertised, it also does a respectable job of cutting down noise a bit. This will help until I have a chance to replace the entire door with a solid core interior. It seems to be adhering to the door very well, so I haven't experienced the problem that some reviewers have mentioned. I was prepared to screw it onto the door at the ends but I haven't needed to do that. The adhesion is likely affected a lot by the type of surface and mine was a freshly painted enamel.

I bought this seal strip for our shower door. There is a gap under the shower door, every time we take a shower, the water escape from the gap, that's why the tiles turned black after a while. We can't put a rug there either otherwise the rug just gets wet every day. This seal strip works pretty well, it sticks to the shower door well and blocks the water from the shower, now I can finally put a rug in front of it and don't have to worry about it getting wet every day. Just one suggestion for users, you still need to leaves a very small gap, and do not go all the way down, if you do that, you might have some difficulties to open as the seal can go under the door.

I am really happy with this product. It adheres well; it’s flexible; it does a good job of closing the gap between the bottom of the door and the threshold to keep out drafts, rain, and bugs. If you’re interested in reading on, I will give greater detail as to what I was dealing with in case anybody else has a similar situation. I board dogs in my home in addition to having three of my own and sometimes the dogs are distructive. I have had not only the molding around my door trashed, but my foam-core metal-clad door pried apart by a dog who wanted to get through it when I wasn’t home. The original door sweep had actually been destroyed prior to that incident, and I have used multiple replacements of the self-stick and the screw-on type, but that’s the first thing dogs seem to go for – the huge 1.5” gap between the bottom of the door and the door sill. I had tried finding replacement U-shaped sweeps since this is an outside door I’m referring to – my front door - and I don’t just want coverage on the outside or the inside, but both, but I can’t find one both wide and deep enough. In searching for a new door sweep the most recent time the replacement was destroyed, I came across this one. It sounded good. Flexible, cuttable, adhesive, multi layered for multiple benefits… So I purchased two with the idea of putting one on the inside and one on the outside, which is exactly what I did. Since they’re rubber, they’re easy to cut once you’ve figured out the length. And the adhesive is awesome. I thoughtlessly attached the part on the outside to the door when it was open, thereby basing the height of the attachment on where it hit my carpet, rather than where it would hit when the door was closed. So when I closed the door, I found it was way too high. I did not attend to the instructions and warm it up to loosen the adhesive grip, so I removed a bunch of paint with it. I figured I was going to have to throw that strip away, but I was actually able to get it to re-adhere along most of the length of it - that’s how good the adhesive is, even with big paint chips attached to it, I just employed several small screws to help with the parts that didn’t hold as well. (The item comes with tacks that don’t work on a metal-clad door and because the product is rubber you have to be careful with screws also, because they tear it up a little bit but the head close up the little bit of tearing that the screw itself makes, so that wasn’t a problem.) I did also use screws on the inside in a couple of spots where I had not done a thorough enough job of scraping off adhesive from previous applications of door sweeps. Because it’s flexible, even though there is about a half inch difference between the threshold height and the carpet height, it just flexes under/out from the door. Anyway, bottom line, as already stated, I am very pleased with this product. I can’t even think of any design changes other than perhaps for people with steel doors maybe there could be every couple of inches or so a small reinforced point through which screws could be drilled if needed. Or adjust the design to where the adhesive part is itself reinforced for screws to be able to go through it, so it would work well for both wood doors and metal doors. But I made it work, and I am very happy with it and I would buy it again. In fact, I may as well bank on buying it again given my history with door sweeps. :-)

Item is as described. I am pleased with the quality. Can be cut to fit but happened to fit my door just fine. I will update to include how the piece holds up in weather and with use. Couldn't be easier to install (just peel and stick). An easy solution to otherwise having to reframe a doorway. Update: it’s been about six months and still performs flawlessly. I notice other users have trouble with it sticking. I wiped down the area of with a wet cloth and let it dry just so there was no dust or debris. After sticking I also threw my weight on it for 20 seconds per area. It still is holding strong and this door gets heavy, frequent use, as it’s the door to my backyard and I let my dog out of it.

I have a large gap under my basement door that had a steady stream of cold air coming through it. I just installed this draft stopped and am very impressed. It attaches easily and quickly. As soon as I attached it to the door I immediately stopped feeling the rush of cold air. I would certainly recommend this item.
