Works!

I bought this to weigh some logs and to have on hand for whatever else. Works fine. It came with some rubber washers which I put on the top shackle and it tweaked the housing every time I lifted something so it would turn off and not work. I removed the rubber washers and its been fine since. My only complaint is it is difficult to read the screen from off angles. You need to be close to straight on to read it.

Found a way to weigh myself

Although I haven't checked the accuracy it lòoks good. I am in a wheelchair I cannot stand on a bathroom scale. Instead I used the sling from my Hoyer lift and lòse it over the lift.

Hard to believe how good.

Hard to believe something this small and light can do this. Tested my deer skinner to 440 lbs.so far. Had to change eye bolts so we will see how far it will go. Thanks for a great low price scale.

You won't believe how we used this Handy Scale!

We looked everywhere for a way to weigh my wife via a sling used with her Hoyer Lift. She had lost a lot of weight but we knew not how much. She cannot stand. I disengaged the bar on the lift, attached the digital scale and it worked perfectly. Thank you so much.

Pretty Accurate

Use this for compound bows to see draw weight. Pretty accurate. Only about .5lbs off. After reading reviews on many scales, decided to go with this one. So far pretty pleased.

Easy to use, good price, and very linear. Using a collection of weights from 10 to 40 lbs, weighing them individually and then in many combinations, I was able to measure the linearity as being +/- 1 lb over a range of 20 to 150 lbs. This measurement is no substitute for absolute accuracy, but I don't have any NIST-traceable weight standards laying around in my garage :-/

Looks compact, well designed, and hopefully accurate

The unit looks very good. My intended use is to weigh game (deer and turkeys) and also boxes of frozen fish that we ship. I can't give a working review because I haven't used it yet, but it looks well made and has some well thought out features, like a shackle hook for attaching to your hoist. Hindsight being 20/20, I would have preferred to buy the one that has a metal case. I'm careful with my tools (like this scale) , but buying the metal case may have given me additional peace of mind. The analogue scale this is replacing was horribly inaccurate( +/- 2lbs) and when it fell off the hoist and hit the concrete, it died a merciful death. Update to earlier review: Upon opening the box, I had questions about the number and size of the batteries the unit required. I contacted Modern Step, and Paul, the owner, was almost instantaneous in responding to me and answering any questions I had. The batteries which were to be included weren't there, and he graciously offered to compensate me for the cost of the batteries, which I chose to decline. Truly excellent customer service; I'd readily buy from him again. Definitely 5 star customer support.

Extremely convenient way to measure a weight that I otherwise couldn't

The product offers an easy and convenient way to measure the weight of a person who cannot stand. The fact that it displays either kilograms or pounds – or even Newtons – is an added convenience :-). It has a very easy and straightforward interface and makes a fabulous addition for the Hoyer lift This item has been invaluable to me!
