Only buy if you want a quality iron instead of another expensive Rowenta
As many other reviewers have stated, this replaces a Rowenta that we paid twice as much for just over a year ago. It began to leak almost immediately but when the plastic parts started falling off, it was time to replace. We’ve used Rowenta irons for at least 40 years and they use to be quality irons. Lately we’ve been lucky to get a year of use before we started having problems. We even contacted their customer service once. Once was enough. We are very pleased with this new Chi iron and we hope that we get more than a year out of it. But if we don’t, it won’t be nearly as painful to replace as a $200 Rowenta. Please give this iron a try. If your anything like us, I think you’ll immediately see you’ve been wasting money on the Rowenta name. This is a quality professional grade iron for under $100. We highly recommend it.

Excellent. Excellent.
I've gone through the reviews and read some cons. Either the product was updated or these reviewers were not aware. This does have an indication that it has heated up to the desired level. Other than that it met all of my criteria. Cord winds into the base, easy fill water, nice spray and the stream is excellent. It's also very good at what it's intended to do... Iron. It glides and haven't had anything stick to it yet. No leaking. I rarely have to pass through the same area twice and haven't come across a wrinkle it has had issues with. If I can nit pick there is only one thing that bothered me that I felt others should know. It is taller than a conventional iron. For me I have to tilt it and lean it up against the interior wall of the in-wall ironing board. So if you have an in-wall ironing board that may be a problem. Other than that I would say this is excellent. Really glad I stopped getting the cheaper models and going with this. I can tell it will last a while. Update 11/15/18: Still working as if I had just bought it. 1 year of satisfaction. Definitely recommend.

Finally an iron that does what it's supposed to do!
Finally an iron that does what it's supposed to do! I've owned two Rowenta irons and both have had leaking problems, even though I use the iron properly by not hitting steam when it's not heated enough, alternating distilled/regular water each time, self clean after each use... they always still leak! I thought I'd give this iron a shot and I'm so happy I did. The steam on this is excellent. It isn't heavy and it glides so smoothly on the fabric. I highly recommend this iron.

Best Iron Ever
This is the best iron I’ve ever gotten. I decided to purchase this after owning a Rowetta for years. I love that it’s lightweight and doesn’t create creases while ironing. I tried it on extremely wrinkled clothes without starch and it worked amazing. I love it and couldn’t be happier.

Really does a great job
This is the first time that I've purchased a relatively expensive iron. I didn't know what to expect. Would it really do a better job than the $30-50 irons? The answer is an emphatic yes. Makes short work of any ironing - where you'd need to run over jeans 3-4 times to get out the wrinkles, with this one you can make one pass. Ironing is faster and so better! An aside - on the cheaper irons I thought that the self-cleaning button was a hoax because I couldn't tell that it was doing anything. This self cleaner actually works.

the performance should be better. The CHI performs great
Tried this iron to replace rowenta, after 3 separate rowenta's started leaking water all over the place. I was determined not to spend another dime on a rowenta product. For what these irons cost, the performance should be better. The CHI performs great. No spitting or dripping. Most of the ironing I do is with indirect heat so the high temperature is ideal for me. The sole plate does not get gummed up with the starch like the rowenta. After about 8 or 9 months I will report if this iron starts to leak. Last point. I like amazon and will continue to shop with Amazon. However, the trust and confidence I have in amazon have diminished. I paid $141.00 for my iron. Afterwards I saw the iron all over the Internet for $99.00. Do your homework and don't get ripped off by Amazon.

Worth the extra $$$. Would definitely buy again.
My French made ceramic T-Fal failed after 20 years. Wanting another ceramic sole plate, I then tried two more T-Fal irons. Both of them were cheaply made Chinese junk. Naturally, I was skeptical about buying another Chinese made iron, especially a brand I had no knowledge of. After almost a year of owning this Chi, I can say that it was an excellent purchase. The ceramic sole plate remains smooth and has never gummed up. The steam is abundant with hundreds of well placed holes. The electronic temperature settings have been easy to use and reliable with auto shut off. I like the fact that the dial has an OFF position instead of always having to unplug the iron. No problems with leaking or spitting so far.

Sleek looking, gives great steam.
So far, this iron has performed great. I am a quilter and I iron all my clothes, sheets and pillowcases. So far, it is all I want in a steam iron. I love the retractable cord. Always let it slip through your fingers when you are retracting it. What I love, that is new, is the fact that the setting you choose lights up and when it is ready it is a steady light. No more trying to see under the handle what your setting it. The light blinks while heating up. So far, no leaking. It is a very attractive iron. I have had many irons because I use them all the time, and this one so far is the best.

Really terrific iron
I have owned Rowenta irons for years and they always end up leaking and are a huge disappointment. Like another reviewer said, they ALL start to leak after a while! So, I looked at all the reviews and after seeing some great reviews, (even though I had never heard of this brand) I decided to try it. WELL, It is a KILLER iron. If you can say that about an iron, that is. The steam is great and even though it is larger than I thought, it is very well balanced, the retractable cord is very easy to use, I like how you put in the water for the steam...I just like everything about this iron. The controls are very easy to use and I like how the fabric type is lit up on the handle so you know exactly what temperature you are using while ironing. Very happy with my choice.

Nice product
Hey super skeptical about spending $100 on an iron, boy was that unfounded. This is a fantastic iron!! I can actually iron my husband’s work shirts without starch and have them looking like they came from the dry cleaners! I love this iron! I wish I had had this when my hubby was in the service for over 20 years. Worth every penny! I should have known, all my girls have chi hair irons and love them!
