For the price, this is an amazing beginner's piano with weighted keys. I had done a lot of research before buying this and was still a bit afraid that given its affordable price, it was going to be cheap quality. I am very impressed with the look and feel and the sound quality is just what you'd expect out of any good electric keyboard. Sure there are better sounding ones out there, but they are far more expensive. For any beginners or people just trying to learn at home and not perform, this is ideal. It has a USB port in the back, easily enabling you to plug into a phone and learn from an app.

I was pleasantly surprised by this. I bought it because I wanted to learn to play piano well and I wanted something to approximate the feel of a real piano without the cost (I'd taken lessons briefly years ago and I just sort of wanted to see if I could pick it up again). I was hesitant because when I say I took lessons years ago, I mean it, and back then affordable digital keyboards all felt and sounded hideously fake. This one is not bad at all. It's better than what I expected for the money I spent, definitely. My first one arrived damaged, unfortunately, and lucky I even noticed it. I actually had played for a while but I'd had no occasion to go to the highest keys until I noticed by chance that two of those keys were slightly depressed in a resting position and when pressed the mechanism seemed unweighted and they barely made any sound compared to the rest of the keys. I called Amazon customer service and they were phenomenal. I'd explained I'd already tossed the box and they sent a replacement so I could just use that box to send it back and the delivery guy had a prepaid label for me to take the old one back at the same time. It is difficult for me to maneuver a large item like this alone, I have some physical issues that made me concerned the returns process would be a nightmare but that was not at all the case. Furthermore, I feel that the issue I had with the first one was not even a manufacturer defect, the nature of the issue made it seem like perhaps the first unit was handled a bit roughly during transit (well a lot roughly) and the box did support this assumption. It was packed well, and the item itself is sturdy, but accidents happen and I imagine it may have been dropped at some point and the shock of the drop caused the issue. The second one, however, arrived in a timely fashion with zero defects and I couldn't be more pleased. Keys are properly weighted, sound is good, it seems sturdy enough, and I've had no issues with it. Overall, definitely a good purchase, especially if you're an amateur like me and you don't want to spend a huge amount of money but want something that feels and sounds decent.

Excellent keyboard for the price. The weighted keys resemble that of a real piano. The sounds is amazing as well and reaches a good volume. I will say that out of the box, the button to change to the fingered bass sound does not work, luckily I can still toggle to that sound through one of the knobs. I'm sure it's covered in the initial warranty but honestly I only plan on using the actual piano feature. I bought a decent sustain pedal to go with it and I believe it's compatible with just about any sustain pedal plug in.

since the piano i have was given to me in 1953, it is not worth trying to repair it. I am also planning to move into a tiny house within the next year and wanted a piano. This one can sit on a custom shelf. I love this! It plays and sounds like an actual piano, but can be set to play in many other modes, including my favorite--with strings in the background.

I have had this for a year. I have been playing piano for a long time but would call myself average amateur player. When I bought it it looked like for the price point it had so many feature and pretty decent reviews. The keyboard feel is good for me. Only slight negative is that the keyboards produce a little thump sound when hit. All keyboards do but this one seems a little loud. I am talking about sound keys make when sound is turned off. You can hear this a little when playing, especially where you are hitting keys hard. If you record what you play to the keyboard and playback you get clean sound because there is no actually sound of you hitting the keys. I love all the different voices. The violins voice is nothing like i have seen in other keyboards. It really gives the feel of hearing real violins. I also love the recording ability. Very simple to record and playback. What you can do is learn one hand of a song, record it and then play back and play along with the other hand. It really helps me learn music fast. Only small thing that bugs me with recording is that you cannot change voices while playing along to recorded track. Minor annoyance compared to all the features it has. I am sure that after a year I have still only played with about half all its features. I like things like split that allows you to have one hand be one voice, and the other hand be the another voice. So my right could play piano while my left plays violins. Makes some pretty music that way. The metronome feature is nice for learning the beat. It has computer interface that I have not used yet that I want to explore some day. I ordered a Samson LTS50 Laptop Stand that i love with it. I set my laptop on the stand, then go to youtube videos that have music playing like guitar hero. As someone that has struggled being a great music reader, this guitar hero way of learning has changed my life. I change the speed on youtube to slow then speed up as i learn it. I can learn songs very fast, and its sorta like playing a PIANO HERO game while learning. These keyboards really help me learn. Just being able to so simply record, then play back also helps learning fast. I am going to try to get video up here to show a few features. There are cheaper keyboards out there that you should consider maybe if you just want to see if you like learning to play piano. There are vastly more expensive pianos out there if you are established player that wants to make records. This is perfect middle ground piano and I thank Alesis for making this piano. I saw a few negative reviews about what sounds like some major support issues. I have never had to deal with customer support so have no opinion on that simply because I have had no issues to complain to them about.. This is after more then a year of use where I would guess I put somewhere around 300+ hours of playing on it. I did get square trade 3 year warranty for 14.34 that I am hoping I will never need. looks like price on square trade 3 year warranty has dropped to under 9. Hope that is because they are having few warranty claims. Good luck with your keyboard shopping. So many choices it was not easy purchase for me, but I am very happy a year later with my choice.

wife has played piano all her life, has a very nice piano at home, sometimes getting something new lights a new fire to play, she is very picky keys really are pretty dang good , she says they feel great, and she is playing almost every day again, has been years since she played that often, learning songs she would not try too learn on regular piano, very happy with purchase, did a lot of home work before purchase competes with others costing way more, so far a happy customer

I am by no means a professional, but I've been learning the piano for a few years now and was looking to upgrade from my cheap plastic Casio keyboard so I would stop having to travel to use someone's piano. Big factors for me were having the hammer action keys and having a full size (88 key) piano to get as close to the real deal as possible without breaking the bank. This piano did not disappoint. I opted for the pro version with the hammer keys vs the semi weighted keys just to get the better feel while playing, and trust me when I say it is extremely enjoyable to play this piano. I may be bias coming from a cheap plastic price of junk, but the quality of this instrument is outstanding, especially when the low price is factored in. The sound is amazing, the hammer action keys work really well, and the piano itself is very sturdily built. I was beginning to get discouraged from continuing learning piano due to the quality of my old keyboard, but after playing this one I cannot wait to learn more. In the end, this instrument fell below my price expectations, exceeded my quality expectations, and I definitely do not have buyer's remorse with this purchase. I highly recommend this piano!

This is a great digital piano for practice and performance, real weighted keys (much like my Yamaha upright piano, if not heavier). It does come with very good sounds right out of the box, specially the bright piano setting; but I mainly use it as a midi controller for MainStage. Something I really liked that I didn't found in any reviews is that you are able to select different types of reverb and control the wet/dry mix, as well as different types of EQ for the piano; so even if you plug in straight to the board you will get a pretty decent piano sound. You also get full control over the mix of your layered sounds, metronome volume and time signature, midi channel 1-16. Overall I'm very pleased with the product, it delivered far more than I expected, you just need a stand and a sustain pedal and you are good to go.

WOW I'M BLOWN AWAY!!! As a Professional musician & teacher, I do a lot of research for the perfect models.....This Alesis Recital Pro is an exceptionally unique instrument!
