I wanted to have the ability for my Viofo A119s (which is capacitor based) to retain the parking mode motion detection and no way to do that well without one of these proper hardware kits that have a low battery cutoff so it doesnt drain your battery. I used this with my GPS hotshoe for the Viofo A119s. I also like that the right angle USB mini plug is also facing upwards and to the left (drivers side) when its plugged in so cable can run to the drivers side A pillar and down the pillar. Some actually face the wrong way and force you to either run it down the passenger side A pillar or make a 180 right there and jam that cable into your headliner. This was an extremely clean kit to install with the fuse tap. Just make sure to install your Fuse Tap properly by testing with a volt meter which side is actually HOT and make that be the left mode side of your fuse tap, if you dont, you are essentially not actually properly protecting the circuit.

Worked perfectly for my FalconHD 360 dash cam in my 2008 Prius. Good selection of fuse box adapter options. NOTE: there are two fuse slots in the cable. The one closest to the prongs should hold the fuse you pulled from the fuse box (e.g. the 15A Accessory Fuse), and the one closest to the red cable should be filled with the 5A fuse that's included in this package. Both slots must be filled with fuses for both items to work (the Accessory or other item whose fuse you're jumping, and the dashcam or whatever item this USB charger is powering).

The kit comes with 4 adaptable fuse kits and is easy to figure out if you look at your fuse box. I installed my kit in with the media fuse and it worked like a charm, you have to make sure you ground the wire or else it won't receive power. The wires were very flexible and easy to guide along from the mirror to the roof down to the side door seal and down to my fuse box. The grounding bolt on my car was a challenge because I didn't take apart my car but I was able to access the bolt via socket wrench and was easy peasy after that. I drive a 2016 Kia Optima for reference. So in summary, a simple solution for your dashcam powering needs.

I have a 2012 Mazda 3 S Touring. I wanted to hardwire a dashcam into the car that automatically turns on when the car starts. This kit made it incredibly easy to do. All you do is run the wire across the headliner, down the trim, and into the fusebox. Then, connect the fuse harness that correlates to your vehicle (mine was ACN) to the wiring, crimp, and install into a fuse slot. The process took me all of 10 minutes and was very straightforward. Highly recommend this product!

This is what REXING and the other similar dash cam makers should be supplying. Rexing's optional wiring kit for hard wiring instead of using the funky cigarette lighter for power, is sorely lacking in options for installation; and worse, it does NOT have the low voltage protection, so that it will shut the camera off if you wire to a 24 hour 12 volt supply, and choose to park your car with the camera running. A good option for vandalism during trips or short travel, especially if you have the larger SD card capacity. As soon as the battery drains down to 11.6 volts, it is "supposed" to shut the camera off. I'll be testing this; but first impressions on everything is makes me a "Happy camper!"

Bought this for a backup camera (auto-vox). Had installed at best buy. This wire kit was needed in order to hook camera directly to your car battery and bypass the cigarette lighter/power . The reason you'd want to connect to your car battery is two reasons (1 - doesn't tie up your car power port or make you buy an double power port option and 2 - only this hooking up to battery option allows the forward camera to record when car is off for burglars/vandalism events - if hooked up to car cigarette port then that usually only has power when car is on - as was my van's case). Fit honda odyssey & CRV just fine. Another tip if using the katabar wire - use an empty car fuse slot - do not piggy back with the Katabar wire as it blew the fuse for me on automatic seat. When put by itself worked fine. Meaning this kit plugs into a car fuse slot and allows you to put an existing fuse in it's extender - but that's when my fuse blew - so picking an empty slot worked. Here is the katabar wire description that Amazon had for sale that I bought. I bought 2 and one had a defective micro to mini adapter and had to buy another adapter to make it work (which Amazon helped with) - the vendor also sent me a wire replacement that went direct to mini USB but it arrived too late to swap out. If the other adapter ever fails I'll have it as a backup - vendor did respond and sent part to fix if needed: MicroUSB & MiniUSB Hardwire Kit with Mini/LP Mini/ATO/Micro2 Fuse, Micro to Mini (and Type-C) Port Adapters, Battery Drain Protection System, 15ft Length Cord for Dash Cameras

I had to post up on this product after using it and talking with the company customer service. I bought the kit thinking it would reach to the spot I was hoping for, but even after measuring you just never know. Well, unfortunately it didn't reach the spot I wanted to on my 2016 GTI, even though I measured it out and thought it would. So, I contacted customer service and let them know that the cable length was just short aby about 6" and that I would recommend that they extend the USB to transistor cable length another 12" to make sure it would reach in other cars as well (as I'm sure others have had the same issue). They got right back to me and told me they would pass this on to their factory and see what they said. Well, Lo-and-behold they got back within a few days and said the revised version is being sent out for free! Not only did the revised version come with extra adapters, but it also came with the extra 12" in length! With those extra 12" I was able to mount my camera almost 100% hidden behind my rear-view mirror now, and everything worked out perfect. Been using this now for over a few weeks and have never had an issue with it. I would recommend anyone to buy this.

I have installed 2 of these so far, and they have worked fine. Plenty of cable, and they fuse taps cover all the normal car fuse types. There was plenty of cable attached, and the power adapter is pretty small and light. I just found a convenient place to put it near the fuse box and held it in place with some automotive double stick tape. I do like that the power supply will disconnect itself if the car battery gets low. And they provide you with a 5 Amp fuse for each type of fuse tap. In both cases, I set mine up on circuits that turned off when the car key was removed. It took a few tries to find a good circuit to tap into. And you want to plug the adapter in the right way around, so that the hot side goes to the input of the fuse. With just a bit of effort, I was able to hide the entire cable run from the dash cam by the rear view mirror, all the way down to the fuse box under the dash.

Works well and easy to install. This was my first time hardwiring anything in a vehicle. I hardwired my TrekPow dashcam and Whistler radar detector (requires different kit) at the same time. I took my time doing it, but next time I have to do it, I am confident I could hardwire a dashcam in less than 20 minutes with this kit. Tapped this into the cigarette lighter fuse in my car. The hardest part is figuring out what slot to put the fuse in the add a fuse connector. The provided fuses aren't actually fuses, but rather jumpers. I am very pleased with this kit and got some extras that I definately need for other uses. 2013 Hyundai Elantra GT. BTW, as for the battery drain protection, yes, it does work. During my installation process, my car battery went dead (needed replaced anyways). I went into panic mode when my dashcam would turn on and then turn off right away after the initial wiring was complete and I ran a test. I jump started my car and went to the auto store to get a new battery. Problem solved.

This kit has everything you need to hard wire a micro USB dash cam. I like how it has several different fuse box connector sizes and extra fuses. Once you find the fuse box connection (I used a voltage multimeter to test for an always on connection first) you need, it was easy to snap in the connector plug. Next plug in the fuse you pulled from the box in the connector plug head. Then insert the red wire into the connector to the fuse box. Snap tight the connector lead and red wire with pliers, wrap with electric tape too for extra shielding. Next ground the common wire to your car under a screw/bolt. Hide the wires, and finally plug the micro USB end to your dash cam. Took about 15 minutes.
