Great caliper and very accurate
Amazing accuracy! I couldn't believe it. I use vernier calipers in my woodworking hobby to check board thickness when milling or thickness planing. I wanted a caliper that reads out in fractions of inches. Since my father was a machinist I have access to some decent metal working instruments and found this unit to be within 1/1000th of his Starrett micrometers over the first full inch of range. Of course being plastic I had to be careful about the amount of closing force. The resolution when in fraction mode is 1/128 inch and suits my needs very well and makes woodworking calculations easier. It also has an "auto on" function that turns the caliper on with any movement, and a timed off function so that I don't drain the battery by accidentally leaving it on. The battery is the ubiquitous 2032 so there's no trouble finding one (or steaking from the wife's LED tea lights when she's not looking

Measure twice and cut once
When I was in school, vernier calipers were kept under lock and key in the science lab by zealous teachers. The only time we touched these was in science labs under strict supervision. It’s amazing, therefore, to find these digital avatars at bargain basement rates. Works as expected and handy for home improvement projects. You can’t find better value for money.

Make this part of your tool kit.
This works. As for accuracy, can't say. What I do like about something like this is being able to measure something and with a push of a button, I have the equivalents of metric or standard measure and even fractions. Ever try to measure metric with a plastic school ruler? Ugh. This caliper was super cheap and while I don't expect NASA level accuracy, it's a bunch better than that ruler. I actually had to insert the included battery myself. Like I have nothing better to do than put in a battery! Just kidding... the battery does insert easily, and more important, it can be removed easily in cases of long shelf time which is good for me. Plus, they used a standard CR2032 button battery which is super easy to find. I usually buy these by the sheet. I plan on storing it in it's little cardboard box. The plastic insert actually has a little place to hold that battery. Nice touch.

Shockingly good for ten dollars.
It is plastic, but it still has a decent feel to the material, it doesn't appear to be ABS like the product description says, it appears to be glass fiber reinforced nylon, the kind that you would see in power tools, though I haven't tested the melting temp, so I'm not 100% but it is least glass reinforced, you can hear the fibers cracking if you scrape it with a knife. It is exceeding accurate for how cheap they are, you're probably not going to get a truly high quality calipers for much less than a hundred bucks. They don't seem to be sucking down batteries as bad as other cheapo's either.

Love this thing for small spaces like in a PC. Cant beat the price.
I love this thing, it has helped me so much, especially when your using this to measure tight spaces a ruler or tape measure couldnt go, or trying to figure out screw sizes that are too small too see on tape measure. And for the price???? Cant beat this. Im sure there are more scientifically perfect ones, but this is accurate and cheap.

It's accurate, well made, and certainly NOT cheap.
I just wanted a good tool for home use. Not really for supper fine technical needs, nor made of exotic metal. This little gem fits the bill perfectly. All common measurement functions of outer, inner, and depth are available. It's construction is clear when you take it out of the wrapper. The material used isn't a cheap grade plastic. The printed graduations are simple and elegant. The real performance is of course the digital reader. Accurate to 0.01mm. That's not bad at all. Also. The battery that comes with it is NOT preinstalled. So you won't get a low or dead battery when you receive it. Is this worth the money? Definitely.

great buy
equals the 5 times as expensive one i bought several mth ago easily. reached early. works fine and since it is made out of some kind of plastic/ fiber material it most like ly wont rust like the last one made from cheapo steel. thx for the additional 3 batteries i found inside the box, i didn't expect freebies at that price. cheers, L

Nifty little tool; good seller
This little micrometer is great, given the price, but unfortunately the first one I received had an odd flaw: it wouldn't shut off and stay off. I contacted the seller who immediately sent me a replacement unit. Excellent service! This is the less expensive, plastic unit, but it's good quality plastic and works well to hold its line and the measured surfaces. This the third Tacklife product I've bought recently, including the angle measure and the laser measure, and they are all interesting and useful tools at very reasonable prices. They're not reliably "precision" instruments, but quite accurate and good enough for my purposes -- and fascinating examples of applied digital technology.
