This cover can definitely do a Veranda day chair longer than 78". I have a set of Gloster reclining chaise, they are 81" long, and there is fabric to spare to do a longer chair. I would say these covers would easily do another 4", (Out to 85") and maybe up to 6" more in length. 78" is not a maximum here. I have a number of other covers in this Veranda family that I have used outdoors for the last two years. My patio overlooks the water in New England, and the Veranda table and chair covers I have held up well to our recent big winters , and do a good job of protecting my teak patio furniture. The cover material is heavy and can take some abuse (like knocking the ice off the cover), the ties are well made as are the draw strings. The color scheme blends well into my background, and the covers look good vs cheap. For $40, I don't think you can go wrong, and clearly they can accommodate longer chairs.

Classic Accessories is quickly becoming my go to set of products for outdoor furniture covers. I now have a Grill cover, 2 chaise covers, 2 chair covers and 2 ottomon covers and looking at my outdoor sofa/love seat cover I suspect I'll have one of those by this time next year. While I am reviewing this specific product my experience with the other covers in this line are very relevant as it is the same product line, same material and same company. The covers are well constructed and sturdy. The warranty is also outstanding. Why do I mention the warranty? I've had to use it several times now. Why does that not cause me to give it a bad review? Simply put because there is no cover I have ever found that can handle sitting out side 365 days a year through summer heat, thunderstorms, snow, ice, sleet and high winds and not have wear and tear after a few years. These covers have not only lasted longer than any other covers I've bought in the past, I've actually been able to get replacements for ones that had ripped or torn after years of exposure. The warranty process was incredibly simple, Fill out a form on-line, upload pictures and the new covers show up about a week later. I would recommend these covers even without the warranty support, but the fact that I was able to get replacements just makes it that much better. Pros: - Look great - Can be securely fastened - Sturdy - Great support from company Cons: - The lighter colored ones really show the dirt quickly.

I bought this a few months ago and it's still going strong! It helps protect my lounge chairs from sun bleaching and my dogs who probably lounge on the chairs more than I do! I had bought a different brand a couple years ago and they are falling apart now. This brand feels thicker and better quality and I'll buy from them again. I have a 83 inch long chaise lounge chair and this cover fit it perfectly with room to spare. There was excess on the sides and the length. The cover stays on on the windiest conditions even without using the elastic hems cords. Only time will tell how long the material will last after the hot summer months. Just always seem that every cover I get last only 2 years and they start ripping from the material getting weak from the outdoor elements. However, this one comes with a 3-year warranty - so that is a major plus!

This is great! Especially for steamer deck chair furniture. It fits like it was custom made. It slips right over with little effort. And it keeps the dust and dirt off the chair. It has a nice weight to it meaning it won't blow off in the wind easily. And if it does get super windy, it has a pull string to tighten as well as clips that you can snap around a leg to keep it on. It slips off easily when you want to sit in the chair too. I would totally recommend this. I've only had it a few months so I can't speak to how it will hold up through the winter rains, but for keeping furniture clean through the summer months, I love it.

These covers are almost as beautiful as my new lounge chairs themselves. They are also made super well as they are quite thick and large enough to cover the entire chaise. They deflect the water, leaves, bugs, and everything else perfectly. In addition, the handles make it easy to remove and put the cover back on the chairs after use. They will match perfectly with gravel or concrete or other pieces of furniture. I will 100% be buying this brand/style of covers for any future piece of outdoor furniture I purchase.

ORIGINAL REVIEW, 12/2009: Needed covers for my new chaise lounge chairs for the winter months, and ordered the 78" and 66" chaise covers through Amazon to test the quality and fit. The Large cover is LARGE! I ended up stacking two chairs--and their cushions--together. The elastic hem cord was not easy to pull tight (for the promised custom fit), and the click-close strap locks for the legs were a little hard to fasten, but once in place, the cover fits the two stacked chairs and cushions just fine. So far, the covers have endured rain, wind and a light snowfall, and have stayed secured and are holding up well. Will re-examine after winter, then review again. UPDATED REVIEW, 6/2011: **TEN STARS** EXCEPTIONAL quality, workmanship, dependability and durability! Neither a tear nor a hole, no rot, decay, mildew, or odors. Cords, snaps, straps...all in perfect working condition. Kept chairs and pads dry, unexposed to the elements and mildew free. Easy to prepare these covers for storage by washing off dirt, grime, bird poo, etc. with garden hose. Price originally seemed a little high, but knowing what I now know, I would pay double! These specific chaise covers are all you will ever want or need. Kudos to the manufacturer for a fantastic product and to Amazon for offering them

Update 3/10/17. With a simple warranty claim both covers were replaced within a weeks time. They simply need the information off the tag a receipt and picture of the issue. Amazing support and they truly stand by their product and warranty. Thank you, i will be ordering other products shortly. Updated 2/20/17: After a year these covers are deteriorated, beginning to rip, and no longer repel water. I am hopeful the warranty is true to it's billing. Stay tuned.... Great product for a great price. March 2016

I'm real happy with my purchase. This chaise lounge cover is much nicer than I had imagined, something that doesn't happen often. I live in Central Mexico and have gotten used to the idea that I can't reasonably send things back, so I often live with things I don't love, not so this cover. The material is soft and pliable, the cording inserted in the seams gives it nice shape and feel of quality. The air vent works nicely and it's real easy to put on and take off. The two neutral colors look ever so nice, even against my wild color scheme background. I have not had to use the buckle/straps since we haven't had wind yet, but there has been a whole lot of rain and everything under the cover is nice and dry. The dog sometimes lays on this and gets muddy footprints on it, I just sweep with a broom when dry and it looks new again. My chaise lounge does not have arms, but the fit is very nice anyway. I am going to title this post the same as the umbrella cover I bought, it is true of both.

Double Chaise cover made from a plasticized canvas material that is quite heavy duty. It doesn't drag on the ground and cover the wheels, which I like because you don't pick up a lot of dirt/leaves or debris with this shorter length. It is, however, long enough to protect the chaise from the elements. It fits quite well but I would suggest using a measuring tape and measuring the length and width of your furniture before purchasing to get the best possible fit. Overall, this is a well-made product that should last a lot longer than some of the other cheaper, thinner products that are on the market these days.
