This charger does indeed power up using the same USB cord as my phone uses. Although it does come with its own cord. It comes with 5 batteries included as shown in the product image. The batteries arrived packaged separately and with a charge of 7.6 volts on average, which required they be charged to bring them to the fully charged state before use. I placed all five in the charger and the lights were all RED on insertion but changed to GREEN once completed. It took about 1 hour to charge all five using a home 100-240v AC Adapter phone charger which charged at 5.0v/2.4a. The batteries all eventually charged to approx. 8.6v which was more than enough for my intended purpose. One of the charged batteries was tested in a device (Wireless Backup Camera) for two hours and the battery drained to 7.4v, Yet the camera stayed on consistently and will be more than enough should the need arise to swap out while traveling. The charger base does indeed also work in my automobile and charges all batteries at the same time using a typical USB phone connection to a power outlet or cigarette lighter socket. All batteries were tested before, during and after using an EtekCity MSR-A600 multimeter and they appear to hold their charge.

they work great. used for church mics and have no problems ever

I have been buying EBL batteries for a while and I am very pleased with them. When fully charged, these batteries will measure less than 9.0V. My batteries measured 8.75V but do not let that discourage you as these batteries will last longer than regular disposable batteries. At least that is my own experience, and I own several EBL batteries from AAA all the way to these 9V ones.

So far so good. I've charged the 5 batteries after receipt of the item and here are results in regards to the voltage: Battery1: 8.28vdc initial, 8.24vdc after 9 days. Battery2: 8.29vdc initial, 8.25vdc after 9 days. Battery3: 8.31vdc initial, 8.27vdc after 9 days. Battery4: 8.33vdc initial, 8.29vdc after 9 days. Battery5: 8.31vdc initial, 8.28vdc after 9 days. There were initial 'higher' voltage drops as measured 1-2 days after charging, but that seemed to have stabilized now. I will update the review once the batteries have been put through real usage.

I am as real straight forward no bull crap kind of guy as you would ever meet. I call a spade a spade. Not much tolerance for junk. It’s either a good product or it’s junk. People work hard for their money these days and when buying things, they want what they buy to be worth what they spend on it. I was very reluctant to buy rechargeable batteries. I did however buy the 5 bank charger with batteries. They all charged within a day. The light did turn green telling me so. My wireless unit for music shows generally burns a standard 9v in a 4hour show. I used one of these rechargeable batteries last night and am proud to say I think literally I may be able to play 2 shows complete off one battery charge. Impressive product and a great investment for anyone that might be apprehensive like I was. Thanks EBL

Quality product from a brand I’ve used on several occasions. Time will tell on these in particular. From unboxing to putting to use, very pleased. I would recommend this product and the products EBL sells.

This charger and the EBL 9V batteries work very well in smoke detectors around my office. The previous alkaline batteries would die after about 6-9 months and every time I threw one away, I felt bad because of the poison I was putting into a landfill. Although these aren't exactly harmless to the environment, at least they are rechargeable. I've had them in the detectors for about 5 months now, and none are yet chirping that the battery is low. The charger does its thing without any fanfare. Even with all 5 charging, they were all done when I checked 6 hours later. 6 hours charge for several months of use in a detector is awesome.

I've been using EBL batteries for the last 3 years and have never had a problem. I'm a bass player in a band, and my instrument has active pickups that require 9v batteries. I use the EBL's and they hold their charge. I also use the EBL 2800 mAh AA batteries in my wireless bass setup. I can play a full gig as well as a rehearsal with 2 AA batteries, and they still have more use left in them. They're a great product.

Good price in rechargeable 9V batteries! My wife's power chair uses 9V batteries for backup power to lower if the power goes out, regular batteries don't have the juice to lower the chair but these do and thats the toughest test I know. When dead just recharge and go.

It is very easy to see which battery is charged and which is charging. I love how easy it is for anyone to use.
