Great little inexpensive toaster

When the toaster arrived, the box was plain and simple. And yes it’s mostly plastic, with a few metal accents. And no, it’s not a heavy weight, if you can’t live without a toaster that weighs as much as your stove, this isn’t for you. What makes this different from other toasters in this price range is the the frozen, bagel and cancel buttons light up, so you can know what’s going on. Some toasters don’t have these lights, so you’re in the dark, so to speak. Another item that sets this apart for me was how well it toasted. With a frozen piece of thick bread, and the toaster set on 4 & the frozen feature selected, the toast came out nearly like charcoal. Our last toaster didn’t have a frozen option, and it would take going through on 6 to get the bread barely tan. If I wanted dry white bread, I could do that in the microwave. I love that this thing gets down to business and makes “toast” the first time! The stated dimensions for the slot width is 1 1/4” my measurements make it closer to 1 1/2”, which should be great for badges and buns. As to the odor from the coils, just follow the directions in the owners manual, the odor cooks off and disappears fairly quickly. So far I’ve been impressed with this and all Amazon private label products I’ve purchased. Their bottom line doesn’t seem to just be the lowest bidder. They seem to find a nice balance between quality/fairly well made and a reasonable pricing. I would definitely be willing to try other Amazon branded appliances as they become available.

Great toaster at a good price

Like this toaster! Can't speak to longevity as I just got it today. Have made a batch of whole wheat toast, and toasted a bagel, which started out frozen. This gave me a chance to try all the different controls and settings. All seem to work quite well. Like the bagel and defrost settings. Toasts evenly enough for me, not perfect, but hey, it's toast, not heart surgery. For $19 you get a clean minimalist look that goes well with most decor, has the current modern settings of models costing ten times as much, and hey, it makes toast! Remember to follow the directions and cycle it a few times empty to burn off manufacturing residue. As the instructions say, "in a well-ventilated area." Like outside, lol, or in your garage. After that it's fine. Recommend.

Makes good toast.

You never think about how important a toaster is...until the one you have dies. Toasting bread is one of my best skills in the kitchen, but to do it well you must have a toaster. This thing works well and is so easy to use, I didn't even bother with the instruction book....well most men don't ...right? It's light weight, black and silver looking so it blends in well with our kitchen.

It makes toast

My old toaster broke and it was time to buy a new one, that was when I noticed that toasters are pretty expensive for what they are. Then I came across this AmazonBasics toaster and I was intrigued. There are a few things I look for in a toaster and it met them all. 1) Does this make toast? CHECK 2) Does it have a cancel button? CHECK and 3) Does it have a toastyness adjustment? CHECK So I bought the toaster and I got it and I was so excited because I hadn't had toast in two days!!!! I made my first batch of toast. My first impression was, wow this handle is so smooth, nothing like my old toaster. Then came time to adjust the level of toastyness, hmmm...I think I will go with 3. I waited and then POP (a nice quiet pop) my toast was done. It was perfect and this toaster is awesome.

Wonderful toaster!

I read a lot of reviews for toasters before I decided on this one due to the positive reviews and the price. This toaster works perfectly! I’ve toasted bagels, toaster strudels, and Ego waffles and they’ve all been perfect! I like things crunchy and this does it wonderfully. The frozen and bagel options are great also.

Amazon hits the mark!

What a great toaster at any price. Everything fits in it from bread, texas toast, bagels, pop up pastries and english muffins. The extra lift is just what you need to get those english muffin tops up where you can grab them. The self centering devices make sure everything gets toasted evenly. As with all new cooking appliances there will be that burn off smell. I set my toaster up under the range hood, turned the fan on high and followed the initial startup directions to burn off the stinky stuff. When I finished the process I put it on the counter and started toasting. This thing works sweet! The power cord is long enough to reach my outlets and the underneath storage wrap is perfect if you only need a few inches to make a connection. Excellent inexpensive product that gets the job done.

Great toaster at great price

Decide to pick this one because of the positive reviews, to replace the expensive toaster I returned that didn't toast worth a darn. This Amazon Basic is awesome!!! Toasts both sides well, and does not seem to take too long. It has the lift handle for smaller slices of bread, so you don't burn your fingers. Great bargain and construction seems solid. At the price, I don't mind if it last a couple of years and then needs to be replaced.

Excellent toaster. Slots are wide enough and deep enough for my morning bagels at work.

Cheap, quiet toaster

I purchased this toaster to keep at my desk at work, which technically is not allowed. However, needing a better option than using the disgusting toaster in the break room that's never cleaned, I decided to test my luck. This little toaster is small, quiet, and toasts anything from English muffins to bagels quickly and evenly. After I'm done using it, I can easily move it out of sight since the sides remain cool, and toss it back in the drawer once it's completely cooled down. The bottom is also easy to slide out to remove crumbs, a feature unused with the break room toaster. Would highly recommend this product. Long live the contraband toaster.

Toast Master 5000 should be this little darling's name.

This toaster is fkn amazing. It toasts bread as if you placed it out as an offering to a Fire God. This little miracle has save peanut butter and jelly the shame of going onto the more inferior version of bread that comes out of whale killing bags. My office's moral has tripled since I purchased this gem. Seriously. Buy it.
