The Cricut is an awesome device for creative types. Using their web-based software, you can build different designs and it will draw/cut/score those out on a variety of materials, like vinyl, scrapbook paper, cloth, etc. I've been using the Cricut specifically for scrapbook paper and I've found it to be pretty good. What I Like About It - easy to use, and easy to load - generally fast - very precise cuts What I Don't Like About It - the design software isn't the best (I find it easier to create my designs elsewhere, and upload them into the Cricut app for cutting and printing) - the boards that hold your materials can be a bit sticky at first, but laying a t-shirt across them and removing it (thereby transferring some of the t-shirt material to the board, and thus reducing the "stickiness" of it) helps immensely I also love that the device connects over Bluetooth, so I don't need any wires coming from my Mac. You can also connect it to your iPad, but for me, I prefer to use my Mac.

Just received it today and made my first project. The card in the photo came from the supplies included with the machine. I only had to fold it and insert the blue paper. The machine is pretty quite, super easy to setup and use (except how do I work with this super sticky mat?! I need practice.) I've never had a Cricut before because I don't do much paper-craft. I bought this one to cut out small items of clothing for sewing. I'll probably end up using it for a bunch more stuff than that. I've been learning how to use the Design Space over the last couple of days and it's really great online software. I'll update my review when I've had a chance to mess around with it a bit more. **Update 9/3/17** I'm really loving this machine. The cuts are SO good! I didn't think it'd be able to cut things so small and precise, but it can. I'm having lots of fun and I'm just at the tip of the iceberg as far as what this machine can do. I can't wait for the knife blade to come out in a month or so. I want to make some leather jewelry and other accessories.

Beware! This machine is like a gateway drug and can lead too addictions. Once you have it, you find you need vinyl and paper and markers. You think you can run into a craft store and pick up some white heat transfer vinyl and come out wth six bags and have spent $287.42 and and then have to return to get the white htv. You start working on a project when you have a few minutes, next thing you know, the sun is coming up and your boss is calling asking why you aren't at work. Dinner has not been cooked for a week, but all of your canisters are labeled. Your family knows better than to ask you to buy a shirt wth a logo, because you can just make it, right after you get on Amazon and order more supplies. UPS is in no danger of going out of business because you are now on a first name basis with your local driver and have made him a travel mug for his coffee. Let me tell you, nothing like having vinyl stuck to various places when you go out in public to make you a well known, or maybe, it's well remembered, fashion statement. On the good side, since you are busy with your hands, you can't eat as much, so if you need to lose weight, this machine is for you! Do you have insomnia? Perfect! Now you have something to do I the middle of the night! Shopping ends up way different too. All of a sudden, you look at things differently, hey, I could put vinyl on that! I will buy 362 of these little bags so I can deviate them for class gifts for my kids, their kids and their kids kids. You have a friend or family member that never leaves you alone? Buy this machine for them! You will never see them again AND get custom gifts in return. Win win! Easy to use, so the kiddos can use it for school projects. Decorate your house, make cards, get ready for holidays. Send someone a thoughtful card or tell them to get lost, all wth one machine!

I shopped around for months prior to ordering, for the best price. I was determined to buy a Cricut Maker because of the rotary fabric blade, because I work with a lot of fabric. One would think Cricut would offer a little more incentives with the Maker due to the big difference in price between machines. So far the only difference I’ve seen is the inclusion of the rotary fabric blade. You receive the same 2 week trial in design space. One fine point blade and one small sample project to get you started. All in all if your not using it to cut a lot of fabric, I’d suggest going with one of the explore air versions, they are much cheaper and do pretty much the same thing. I’m happy with my Maker but it doesn’t justify the big difference in price. I’m very happy with the seller. That’s the reason I give five stars. They were very prompt. The package arrived exactly on the date and time stated. It was well packaged and secure. And they offered the best price.

Only had it for a few days, hooked it up, downloaded software, started using right away. I’m a first time user of any die cut tool so can’t compare to others, but this Cricut Maker is super easy! My wife, not very tech or tool savvy, loves it and has already made a few fun projects. I did quite a bit of research, read a lot of articles, feedback and reviews. I chose the Maker based on the capabilities compared to less expensive, I didn’t want restrictions compared to so many projects available online. Also, most reviews state the Cricut machines and software has a better learning curve, Maker was extremely easy to set up and within about 30 minutes made our first sample project that came with the machine. So far feels like a great quality product. Looking forward to many fun and creative projects!

Okay, I have wanted a Cricut for a literal decade and I'm SO HAPPY this is my first Cricut because it is INCREDIBLE! I also never leave reviews for anything unless it changes my life haha so you know I'm serious! To start, I am a novice and knew nothing about how to use this machine or what they cut. I just heard people love the Cricut and it looked fun but I had no idea the Maker would be this amazing. I looked at older models and saw that in order to cut fabric, you had to apply heat and bond. Honestly, if I had to do that to cut any fabric, I never would have cut fabric. It would be an absolute pain. The Cricut Maker cuts fabric, felt, leather and denim like butter. And how do you cut it? Just slap it on the sticky mat! What?! So easy! Figuring out the Cricut Design space was so insanely easy too. I had a couple images I wanted to use and uploading them to the site and placing it wherever I want it to be cut is so awesome. That rotary blade is so precise, I was so impressed. It cuts lace and delicate material perfectly. And then really thick synthetic leather, not a problem! My favorite thing so far has been cutting felt. It's SO EASY!!! In a few hours I made several dozen flowers and bows---oh my goodness! Do you know that I have been making felt bows and flowers by hand for years for fun and not only were they poorly shaped, they took me a MILLION YEARS! I am so excited about the neat things to do with the Cricut Maker and I will definitely be trying heat transfer vinyl soon. We make matching Disney shirts and either pay t-shirt companies a ton of money or do that crappy printer paper iron on stuff but now I can do HTV with the Cricut Maker and I am so excited to play!!! Seriously, if you are a novice or an expert and are wondering if you need this--YES YOU NEED THIS!!!!! It is 100% worth every single penny. I am in loooooove! Here are a few of the flowers I made in seriously a couple hours in the photo below.

I bought a Cricut Explore Air 2 not too long ago. I was/am in LOVE with that machine. So much that I balked when a neighbor wanted to buy it. I didn't know the Maker was coming when I bought my Air 2. Since I primarily work with textiles the Maker was the better option for my needs. So, I bought mine today. I brought it home, unboxed it and the husband decided HE wanted to help (insert eye roll). Well, since I am wearing my "I love my husband" shirt, I had to let him assist and since I had no "help" with my Air 2, I let him do all the work as I read him the instructions. I think we will be ordering his Maker soon. HA! No, in all seriousness, I do not know how I lived without this machine before today. I love having the ability to cut fabrics without having to back them with heat and bond or some other stabilizer. The cutting of felt is also a HUGE selling factor. Since we don't have access to the wood cutting blade, I cannot attest to it's wood cutting ability but if it is like the rest of the Cricut line-up, I am sure it will live up to the hype. It is a bit heavier than the Explore series but that doesn't bother me. It is still light enough that you can take it with you on the road if you wish. It will also fit nicely in the existing hard side Cricut bags made for the Explore series. Sweet! If you are familiar with the new sewing patterns that Cricut offers though, you will want to invest in a 12x24 mat right away as many of the patterns require the longer mat. Other than that, I am super pleased with this machine, the accessories and the Cricut brand. Well, all except their no-coupon policy. THAT could change and I would be a customer for life. I might add too, that you can purchase your Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV) from other vendors besides Cricut and they work just as well, if not better. Especially for UV protected auto/marine Vinyl products.

Ever buy something on a whim, only to become addicted and go nuts using it? This is my addiction now. My sister-in-law has the previous model, and my brother was making me jealous with all his customized articles: clothing, mugs, banners, etc. So when this model came out, I had to have it! Now my husband is suffering through me customizing everything in our home. Curtains/plates/mugs/walls, everything is fair game. Can't wait for the wood cutting blade to come out, because then our furniture will suffer too! There is a learning curve with using this Cricut. I highly recommend watching YouTube videos on perfecting certain crafts you may want to try. Some of the videos from random users don't really help: they go from explaining to skipping a few steps...and voila, perfect art; me sitting there staring at the screen wondering: now hold on!! How did you do THAT part?! The Cricut developer videos are really helpful: very short and informative. There is a lot of information though, broken up into short clips (love that btw), but it really doesn't stop me from trying to experiment on my own. The user software is really simple to use, and I love how I can do what I want to make what I want. My 12 year old picked it up super fast...I had to put a password on my laptop to keep her from using the Cricut for the most random things!! Thankfully she hasn't realized that there's an app... I really recommend this for people who enjoy a wide array of crafts/art/projects. It is simple to use, the results are stunning, and the learning curve is actually fun!

To start off, I have been a Silhouette Cameo user since the very first one debuted in 2012. I went the Silhouette route back then because they didn’t use cartridges and you could cut any SVG files you wanted. Oh and using my own fonts was another big reason. I have since upgraded to the Cameo 3, when it first came out and have had nothing but problems with it. Long story short, I’m pretty sure I received a defective unit but Silhouette won’t even get back to me to try and remedy it! Their customer service is now non existent and it used to be great. Ok enough about my background, I decided to try the Maker because I was so fed up with my Cameo and because I could now do all of the things I couldn’t do six years ago with a Cricut plus more. To me, having Design Space internet based is a huge plus! As is are the mobile app capabilities! Silhouette Design Studio has been just awful since they updated it to the 4.0 version and it takes them forever to issue updates because it’s much more complicated to do for a stand alone program than an internet one. And their mobile app is completely useless and they’ve never updated it! I love being able to design on my iPhone and iPad!! So for the machine itself, I have owned it since February and used it extensively for some parties and gifts since then. The Maker cuts cleaner and faster than my Silhouette Cameos ever did! I haven’t had a single issue yet and I’ve cut all kinds of cardstock, fabric, HTV, glitter HTV, & 651 vinyl with it so far. I love that it will be compatible with future accessories and blades and I really like the rotary fabric blade! I would consider myself to be more technologically advanced than most of the other reviewers, so that maybe why I don’t have any problems using Design Space, I jumped right in and figured it out immediately. I thought it was easier to learn than Silhouette Studio and I’m a regular Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop user! It does everything I need it to do so I don’t understand where some of the other reviewers are coming from. Oh and about the knife blade that still hasn’t come out, I could care less about it because I’ll never use it. If I want to use that style of blade, I’ll just dust off my Cameo 3. But really, the mini exacto knife design sucks on intricate cuts, at least in my experience.

The Cricut Maker has made me into a sewist. I wouldn't have said that about myself a few months ago, but I'm hooked! The machine cuts all of the tiny pieces out for me and I get to do the fun part - sew those pieces together. But, the best thing about the Maker is that it can also cut all of the amazing things that the Cricut Explore can like cut cards, iron-on, and vinyl projects. It is truly the ultimate cutting machine because I can sit down and make anything that I want.
