Great little machine!

Wanted something that didn't take up too much counter space, looked good, and didn't have too many bells and whistles but had the basic functions to make good coffee, expresso, cappuccino, etc. and have a real working milk frother for my husband. Frother works amazing with almond milk too for my tumeric lattes! Small learning curve for this machine but very happy with this purchase.

Great espresso machine for beginners. You will almost always get it right! You will need to learn a trick or two to perfect your perfect cappuccino or espresso shot technique, but you will get there in no time. One of my favorite things about this machine is its size, so compact! Definitively recommend it. So sexy looking too!

Amazing machine - Let’s talk about the negative reviews

I had this machine for 6 months and I’m super happy with it. Let me spill the tea. So, a lot of the negatives reviews are semi-true; yes, the machine gives you a warning sign that it’s overheated already after making two cups of coffee. But you fix the problems very fast just by running the machine with water for 5 seconds. Yes, the machine give you a descaling warning after couple of months but you can just switch it off or even simply ignore it (nothing really changes but the color of one of the buttons, that’s all really). I use Brita water so I don’t descale the machine. Otherwise, works perfectly fine. Coffee takes amazing. The machine has a sleek design. Temperature is good, and adjustable. Cappuccino maker works great and it’s easy to clean (you purge it before and after, wipe it with a tissue, done). Never gave me any problems so far really. The only issue I have with it is that it won’t run if the coffee is grinded to a very fine level. And sometimes I get or buy coffee that is very fine. That’s my only isssue with it. But that’s not worth getting a 1,000$ espresso machine.

Great cappuccino and easy

I got this a month ago. It replaces a Breville that died after 4 years. The Delonghi is perfect. Makes much better espresso and foam than the Breville. Even better than super expensive automatic ones in cruise ship lounges. Easy to use and clean. I also like the filter set up. Looks like it might not get clogged. It is small, which is great since it won't take up a lot of counter space. Of course that makes it a little light so you may have to hold it with one hand when you take the used coffee off. Now, the big test will be how long it lasts

I absolutely love this machine. I was a bit concerned as there were quite a lot ‘meh’ reviews but I encountered none of the problems they described. It works amazing. The frothing thing is amazing, I actually did not expect this, but this is even more fun to me now than the espresso. It works with milk obviously, but I tried oat milk and even cashew milk. It foams everything! The espresso is amazing too though. I feel like I am in Rome or Paris every day!

Love Making My Own Cappuccino

This is a great machine for personal use. I researched for a while and even tried the Mr. Coffee but had to return it due to a malfunction with the automatic milk steamer/frother. I like this one because you steam/froth the milk manually and you can use the pods or measure your own grounds. It took a few tries to learn the milk frother but now it's perfect every time. It heats up rather quickly and makes a great espresso with good crema. It only takes a small space on your counter which is a plus for me. My only negative is it comes with one portafilter but three interchangeable inserts depending on if you want a single or double shot or using a pod. I understand this was done for cost effectiveness but the inserts pop out every time you try to "knock" the puck out which by the way the puck doesn't come out - I end up digging it out with a spoon. Overall though I still LOVE it!!

Great little machine.

I intentionally waited 6 months before writing a review so I could test it thoroughly. I've used quite a few espresso machines and for the money, this one is the best. It produces picture perfect, great tasting espresso. The steam wand works as advertised but I mostly use this for straight espresso. I purchased extra filter baskets and have made 8 double shots of espresso back-to-back when I've had guests without a hint of trouble. I have given this machine a workout every day for 6 months and have no complaints.

No easy but love it

I just bought it and took me a while too understand how use it but that it's the idea. Learn about how makes a good coffee takes time. It works good but it's not easy to understand. But ones you catch its perfect. I love it. My only complain is the weight. You need to hug the machine to don't let it felt when yo place the coffee. But I think is normal for machine that size.

Una vez que recibi mi nueva DeLonghi Dedica Modelo 685M, siguiendo las instrucciones, despues de el paso inicial de preparacion, termine haciendo un cafe express perfecto, hacia tiempo que no disfrutaba un buen express en mi casa, he leido muchisimas criticas buenas y malas, y al final me decidi a comprarla y si sigue trabajando bien, me doy por satisfecho, todo parece indicar que el modelo 685M ha sido uno de los mejores que han fabricado, lo recomendaria .

If you're tired of bad coffee, buy this!

We love this machine. It's very easy to use and makes delicious frothy espresso (we buy french market coffee and chicory in the can, pre ground.) The steamer works great too and only takes about 45 seconds to get your milk to a desired temp. I started off making single shot espressos with 4 ounces of steamed milk. Now I'm making double shots every day and can't get enough... I may have an addiction. The cleaning process is a little annoying though and the directions aren't perfectly clear. I would recommend following them but using two large cups (one for the coffee dispenser part and one for the steamer) so you don't get water/cleaning solution splattering all over the place! Hope this helps someone. Anyway, it's a great machine and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is trying to step up their coffee game. Seriously, enjoy your new addiction.
