We bought the Tractive to use for our indoor cat. She was meowing FOR MONTHS....wanting to be let outside. Since her brother ran away, we were hesitant to let her go outside, for fear she would do the same thing. Buying the Tractive has given us our sanity back. She wears a small harness and it is attached to her harness. I know where her favorite spot is and can find her within seconds. She rarely goes far. When I turn the device on initially, it takes a few minutes to find our location and get the two green lights and may show her being further away, but I’ve gotten the hang of it. I am enjoying my cat, now that she is not meowing for hours every day. She walks all over the yard and basically goes outside to sleep. It is fun seeing everywhere she goes. I rarely LIVE track her now, because I already know where she is. If she goes into the neighbor’s yard, I can see where she is. I am so grateful to have the Tractive. It is worth every penny. I paid for a year subscription to have her tracked and to protect the device, in case it gets damaged or lost, it will be replaced. I charge it in the evenings. She is so tired from walking outside and getting exercise that she ends up coming inside and sleeping. The house is quiet and I do not have the hear her begging to go out anymore. Halle-freakin-lujah!🙌🏽

Cat is accurately tracked in real time. It tracks well in multiple areas because they use more than one phone network for their tracking. It is a little big on my cat but he got used to it and now I know where he is and can keep him close to home. I like the text I get if he wanders out of his virtual fence. He is free to roam within his boundaries. We attached the Tractive to his harness with cable ties and duct tape. At first our cat refused to walk in it but when we took him outside he forgot about it being on him. He is getting better with it and we can let him out and still be sure he stays close to home. He weighs about 10 pounds.. It is possible for him to wiggle out of the harness if he gets caught on something but he doesn't try to get out of the harness. We take it off when he is in the house and charge it daily so the battery life works great for us.

After trying All the others FINALLY I have one that actually tracks REAL TIME which is Most important. It gives you precise location. The Mobile app is much nicer that any other. Whistle was a joke compared to this. I forget how many I've sent back. This one uses cell towers but you don't need to buy a separate SIM for it. It's completely water resistant. Smaller than Whistle too. So far I'm very happy but my cat? Not so much...lol I attached it to his walking jacket with velcro.

We have a bloodhound and bloodhounds love to roam once they get on a scent. We live pretty far out in the county so it's easy to lose her fast between the woods and the fields. This little tracker has been perfect. Once I notice she is gone I get on my phone and I can see where she is at, how she got there and which direction she is going. I can get in our John Deere gator and drive exactly to where she it. Amazing!!! I'm so glad we found this because putting a chip in this dog would have been useless. No one wants to put an 80 lb stray dog in their car, who's been out in the fields, and drive her to a vet to find out who she belongs to. I highly recommend this device.

I just received and activated 2 units for my 2 dogs today. The locations are shockingly accurate. It seems to put them on the map exactly where they are in real life, with a 3-4 second delay. I just finished fencing in 7 acres so now I can let them run free, and I want to see where they are on the property, if there's spots at the fence they're lingering (which probably means digging or otherwise being naughty), and of course on the off chance they manage to escape so I can find them. One feature I wish this had was a beeper. There really ought to be a function to make it beep from the app, so my dogs could be trained to come to me when it beeps, and also so that if the unit falls off I can find it more easily.

I was recommended to buy the Tractive GPS 3G by a friend who also occasionally experienced her dog running away. It’s been just 3 weeks since I started using the device with Cooper (black lab escape artist) and I am very pleased with the accuracy, usability, and design of the tracking experience. I made an account, added Safe Zones, and edited certain notifications in under 15 minutes. The usability and ease of setting up the app was great! Once Cooper started wearing the device I had such peace of mind when leaving him alone in our fenced yard or when we would go for walks off leash.Since using the device, I’ve had just one emergency and in the time of panic, the Live Tracking feature was successful, easy to start and I was able to find Cooper quickly. I can highly recommend this product as it performs as expected and gives me complete comfort in knowing where Cooper is or where he has been! It is important to know that there is a monthly service fee of $6.99 (they say you can cancel anytime), which is necessary to use the device.

I’ve been using it for only three days. I just love that arrow and distance in the lower left corner of the map display on the app that points toward Miss Marcella no matter where she is. Play with it; learn how to run it, when you are out with you friend. When you need it to find her is not the time to learn how to use it. I gave it 4 stars because I don’t like the mounting scheme. The mounting clips can’t be on the unit when the charger clip is attached. That means it has to be removed from the harness each night for charging. UNACCEPTABLE! I mounted it to Marcella’s harness with plastic tie wraps. The charging clip can be attached without removing it from the harness. See photos. Update 5/26/18 Each summer we we go camping at a state park about 40 miles west of our home. We find there is no cel signal for the tracker at this location. I use Verizon for my cell phone. It has a very strong in the park.

I have a really friendly foxhound and I also have 25 acres of woods. My pup loves to take off and release some steam, which isn't a problem on the times he returns in a few minutes. With the Tractive tracker, I can see where he is when he goes for a run and go collect him if he gets distracted. I love the notifications if he leaves the virtual fence I have set up around our home and with live tracking I can see right where he is at all times. The small, lightweight tracker is easy to attach and remove from a standard collar, stays in place well, and doesn't bother my pup. Even better, the customer service at Tractive has been great! I bought 2 trackers so I can have one on the charger while he's wearing the other and just swap instead of having to remember to charge and replace. About a month after we got them, one disappeared. We searched and searched but the battery had died - and 25 acres is a lot of ground to cover. I had purchased the insurance (such a good value!) and the company sent us a replacement right away. Praise aside, there are a few shortcomings with the Tractive tracker. Sometimes I have difficulty getting the live tracking to connect, but I think this is due to my spotty cellular reception as it usually connects if I drive down the road. Also, the notifications for low battery and virtual fence keep turning off on my phone and I have to uninstall and reinstall the app to get them working again (can't just turn them on for some reason). Last, I'd like it if the battery lasted longer but that's true for everything. These are fairly minor annoyances compared to what I gain. Overall, the Tractive tracker was a fantastic investment and the peace of mind that I've gotten by not having to worry if my boy wants to stretch his legs was worth every penny.

I bought 2 Tractive GPS Pet Finders for my 2 dogs. They often roam off the farm and we can now see where they are. The ability to track my dogs makes it very easy for me to drive and pick them up. I do charge the tracker nightly, but it is well worth it as sometimes they are gone for hours. I do wish there was a better way to secure the tracker to their collars but the tracker has only come off once during rough housing play in the yard. We are very happy with the Tractive GPS Pet Finder and recommend this product to any one with dogs who roam.

I don't write many reviews but wanted to give Tractive as much support as I can: this tracker works, is dead simple to setup, and the Android app shows the pet's track & location drawn on a Google map of the vicinity, updated every few seconds in live tracking mode. Without live tracking the pet's location is captured every few minutes. The integration with Google maps in the app means that the terrain view can be turned on, showing houses, terrain features ... And the pet's path through it all. Really useful! When I'm concerned over not seeing my dog in a while I turn on live tracking and watch him meander. When first getting used to it I was following dogFace but lost track of him. The app showed he'd looped around behind me - and so he was when I turned around. I went for the top option in cell service for the reason that one bonus is that it seems to work with more cell carriers ... Details were lacking but I didn't want to lose tracking if the cell landscape changed in my neighborhood, or on the road. It worked out to about $8/month. Peanuts compared to the worry this is saving me. Edit: I watched the live track of stationary dogFace and it showed some diagonal jitter centered around his location. At other times it has drawn a rough dog where he was resting. Put it down to the # GPS satellites available to the tracker, where he was situated ... Still 5 stars, still really impressive for something the sizeof a key fob.
