Easy Set Up

Absolutely perfect for beginner studio set up. Took me less than 10 minutes to unpack and set up. While lightweight, it is not flimsy or cheap. As you can see I'm working in a very small room. The pic was done very quickly with a cell phone (so don't judge my photographic skills!!!) Once I have a bigger space I can set up the other two lights. Excellent value. I only gave it 4 stars under durability because I know there are more expensive and sturdier kits out there. Now I need a model other than Peanut.

Excellent basic light kit

This photo light kit arrived on time, with everything listed on the inventory. I easily set up the light stand, attached a light, and opened all the umbrellas. I set up the backdrop stand and attached one crossbar. It was sturdy enough to stand unsupported. The lights do need to be set down completely on the top of the stand, and the equipment turns are plastic, so I was gentle with my turns and tightened slowly. It would be easy to overtighten and strip the threads. The stands are powder coated, so they don’t slip easily. Again, I went slowly. I didn’t force a single thing. The instructions show the muslin clamps as going completely around the bar but I found they attach in the middle. Once I test the hanging and function, if it’s an issue, I will update. The lightbulbs came packed in a separate box, inside the equipment box, inside the mailing box. The mailer was heavily damaged and opened when it arrived, but the equipment box was fine. Again, if anything isn’t functioning on test or use, I will update. I was able to easily - so easily- pack everything into the carry bag. I put the bars and stands down first, alternating ends like shoes in a box. Then put in the umbrellas, lights, clamps, and muslins on top. The bag isn’t flimsy; it feels like it will be durable for lightweight use with gentle handling. The only things I didn’t put into the bag were the lightbulbs. They will fit, I just prefer a separate padded container. I also will be adding some heat resistant gloves for handling the bulbs to avoid getting oils on the surface. I added a photo of the bulbs that came with it for reference. The muslins are lightweight synthetic blends. Once I have time to try them out with digital editing, I will add more info on performance. Overall, this kit is a great value and perfect for my purpose. I have a background in professional videography and this set is to help my kids practice and learn some basics of light theory and photography. It’s not as heavy as my old pro equipment - and I’m not taking it into journalistic endeavors, so it’s just right to have mild use. It can probably last awhile if treated with care every time.

Great Product!

Just got this delivered today and I absolutely love it! Once I figured out the mechanics of it, it was very easy to put together, even though the instructions were in small print, and the lights bounced off the backdrop perfectly. I gave this a five star rating, but there were only three things I had small issues with - the backdrops were just cloth material I could get from any fabric store (so thanks for that - I'll be saving some coint here on Amazon), the backdrop poles would be easier to use for short people like me if they had height marks on them, and the clips are plastic and could break easily, so I'll probably end up buying metal ones. Other than that, this was a very good investment for me.

Great!!

Great product!! Came on time and worked beautifully. The umbrellas were very bright and gave excellent lighting. Only thing i didn't like was the muslin material. Felt more like plastic table clothes and very narrow and short. However, still very durable and pics came out great! Great stuff for a great price, can't beat it!!

Feel like this was a steal...

I am pretty content with this kit. The stands and crossbar feel thick and durable. The crossbar doesn’t appear to sag. The soft boxes are extremely easy to assemble. But have about a food of metal bar sticking out the front. I don’t know what this is for but I’m still kinda new... The lighting fixtures have a few feet of cord, but I think I am going to have to get a few extension cords. (Obviously) The backdrops I can’t really comment on. They are cloth. They are thin and smooth material. Not so thin as to have transparency. Umbrellas have the same quaility of everything else but the backdrop clips feel “cheap” for lack of a better term. It’s not like they need to be anything special, but compared to everything else in this kit they feel out of place. They are also really small for the half inch crossbar but they do fit. I wanted to have a few spare so I bought a 6 pack of clips at the same time I ordered this kit. I overall am very happy with this purchase. For the price tag.

Great Value for Good Product

I think that for the price, you get a very good deal with this set. The backgrounds do not feel cheap and neither does the rest of the set. There were only 2 issues I had with this. The first being that the lightbulbs it comes with are not the best. I would recommend purchasing a better quality lightbulb set. And the second is there are really no instructions on how to set everything up which was frustrating at first but once I dug into it, it was relatively easy to assemble. But other than that, this really is a great product! Also, to get the wrinkles out of the backdrop from being folded, tumble dry on low for 20 minutes and it will be right as rain!

Easy Set Up

The set up was very easy for 2 people that have never set one up before and could definitely be done alone. The pieces were easy to sort out for what goes with what and it stores very compactly. The size of screen is best suitable for close range photography.

Would definitely recommend!

I have never had a green screen before. This was bought to get my kids’ creativity going while quarantined. First, it was very easy to put together. I did it myself from box to completely set up in less than 30 minutes with no experience in this stuff whatsoever. Minutes later the kids came in and immediately started recording things and taking pictures. They have turned out wonderfully. We are BIG fans of this set. We would definitely recommend it to anyone starting out or just wanting a set for the kids to use for school projects, sleepovers (when those can start happening again) or just a rainy Saturday. The fun here is as expansive as your family’s creativity.
