Love my smoker
Love my smoker. There is a lot of space. Installment was easy. The only thing that is difficult is the bottom vents. Controlling air flow through the bottom vents is used through one (and only one) source. So far Ive used it 4 times and love it

Great prouct. Assembly took just over a hour
Great prouct. Assembly took just over a hour. Having a extra hand on certain steps is beneficial. This was my first time using a gas powered smoker. I typically have always used a charcoal based smoker. Overall I am extremely pleased with the results. This is a low maintenance smoking method and with the abundance of tips and recipes online it's hard to mess food up. I used the additional water pan that was provided solely for water and used the black pan just for woodchips and it was smoking in a matter of minutes. Heat loss was minimal however it was a very warm day. The one noticeable thing about this product is the door as it very solidly built. This is a very sturdy item and I was able to fit 4 slabs of ribs with room for more.

Built Like A Tank. High Quality....*****
Please understand that I have not used it yet. This thing is built like a tank and massive. I love it so far. Installation was a breeze. One thing on the assembly, make sure to open each separate compartment and remove the screws and place a sticky with the part number next to them so that you don't confuse or mix with the other screws. Again, I am so impressed with the quality of this unit. Buy It, You Will Be Happy! Cheers and Smoke Everything Ok, now that I have used it. I still keep it at a 5 Star. My first ever smoked BBQ in my life. I made a full rack of pork ribs and they came out wonderful. They tasted better than any top end BBQ Smoking place. They key is the rub, temperature, prep of the meat. I used a Santa Ana rub and Bone Sucking Rub. Let it prep at over-night for 8 hrs minimum. Cook for roughly 5 hrs with Apple and Hickory chips (soak Chips for 30 minutes) and do nothing else. Make sure you keep the water filled, it will evaporate quick. Mix the water with some sea salt. Keep temp at 275 no more no less. It' s Amazing. WOW WOW WOW.

Love the versatility!!!
I've been an avid griller for years and have owned charcoal grills, gas grills, smokers, cast iron hibachis etc. I really enjoy grilling, I've had my eye on a Traeger pellet smoker for a while. Seems like a new and interesting way to grill (new adventures = awesome), but the price was a little prohibitive. The Cuisinart seemed like it would do the same stuff for a few hundred dollars less. I used to heat my house with pellets so I understood the advantages of using pellets for heat pretty well. Assembly took a little over an hour (pro-tip: cut the package on all sides and fold down and use that as a flat surface to keep everything on during assembly), pretty standard for grills and the hardware was clearly labelled attached to a sheet of cardboard. All the tools were included (the screwdriver was great quality (a rarity these days!) and the grill was pretty easy to get started on. I really liked the ability to switch between grilling mode and smoking mode. Its nice to be able to grill and then add some smoky flavor at the end with the turn of a knob. That way you get the best of both worlds. Over a couple of days I cooked ribs, fennel, corn, oyster mushrooms (that I picked) and even a skewer of tofu (seriously, try it). I got the crust I needed on everything with a little bit of the smoky flavor from the smoker setting to really put each one over the top. It would be nice to have had a couple recipes included but I can pretty much find similar online and I assume the more people buy and use this, the more recipes and videos will be online. This grill gives you a few different tricks under one hood, its fun to use. I'll try some pizza on it soon.

Couldn't be happier!
I read horror stories about being damaged in shipping and the thermometer on the do it being way off. This could not be farther from the truth! The package had 2 puncture/dents but the smoker was packed so well there was no damage! It was very easy to assemble the directions were great! Very strong/sturdy construction! I have already used it twice , only had it a few days, and everything was great. Just received my digital remote thermometer for the meat and the smoker and the thermometer on the door is right on! I love it!

Beautiful little smoker!
Great product. I was looking for a good quality smoker and came across this little gem. I reviewed and considered all the big name smokers like Traeger, Pit Boss, etc and am glad to have come across the Cuisinart. Couple of reasons, the price point is beautiful and Cuisinart is well know and respected in the cooking/kitchen world. I really could not justify close to a grand for a smoker being just the backyard casual griller. This does not mean that I don't know how to grill or smoke. I just do not do it as much as in the past as my family eats way less meat. However on a special occasion or event, I like to break out the grill. So, cost vs. usage was definitely a factor in my decision. I figure to use my smoker once every few months. If I was going to use it much more frequently maybe I would have opted for something a bit more expensive and presumably heavy duty. So, the grill came in one box and was easy to put together, just basically adding the legs and attaching the wheels. All the tools that were need came in the box. As others have noted it took about an hour by myself. Once it was together I immediately seasoned it as per the instruction and fired it up. My first cook was of course a 16 lb Packer Brisket for our fight party. I started the brisket at 3am and on 190 degrees. At first I was a bit worried b/c the temp kept going up well above what i wanted but after about 10 mins, it adjusted itself and held steady for the remainder of the cook until 5pm. The brisket was delicious and cooked to perfection. I also smoked a few lbs of chicken wings and smoked sausages that after the brisket came off. The food was delicious. I've recently done a huge piece of salmon which had a great buttery texture and subtle smoky flavor. The grill has a small removable top shelf for larger items. The grill surface is not that large, so if you need to cook large amounts, it may require a couple of separate cooks. Its easy to clean, looks good and comes with a nice grill cover. I'm happy with this grill, complete five stars!

Great grill, easy to assemble, great flavor!!
I am an avid outdoor griller/smoker and was in need of a new smoker. I did some research and decided to try a pellet grill as it would serve both options. The assembly was quite easy, with all the parts labelled. I did it by myself, so it took about an hour. All the tools were provided, and the directions were easy to follow. The initial set-up/burn off went as planned, and then I was ready for my first use, which was some St. Louis ribs. The unit heated up a little quicker than expected, so I had to open the cover a bit to bring it back down to the 225 cooking temperature. Once that was accomplished, there were no issues. The unit does not come with pellets, so I went to Lowes and purchased some hardwood pellets. The smoking took a little longer than it did with my previous Masterbuilt Electric smoker, but the ribs came out great!! I used the same rub and cooking method as I used with my Masterbuilt, but I felt the taste came out better as the pellets are continuously fed through the system and adds the hardwood flavor throughout the whole smoking process. The only thing I would like would be a recipe book. Even though I do have my own methods, it is always good to try new recipes and methods. Also, it is a beautiful looking grill and I have had a lot of complements from friends. Glad I purchased and would highly recommend to anyone.

Well-built, excellent performer. And great customer service.
Cuisinart isn't exactly a name I associate with outdoor cooking, but I was still very excited to try this propane smoker. I've been smoking food at home for several years and have tried a few smokers out over the last few years, including the Char-Broil Digital Electric Smoker with SmartChef Technology, the Char-Broil Simple Smoker with SmartChef Technology, and my favorite go-to smoker, the Masterbuilt 20050211 Black Propane Smoker, 40-Inch. I know a lot of traditionalists might balk at the use of a propane smoker, but it really does help make smoking much easier and convenient. The need to check the fire and temperature throughout the cooking process is all but eliminated, and that saves a lot of trips out to the smoker when you're smoking something that takes a while, like a beef brisket. As soon as I started unpacking this Cuisinart smoker, I could tell the build quality was excellent. All of the pieces are quite sturdy and should hold up for many years. The actual smoking box is very solid, not flimsy metal like a lot of other brands. And assembly could only have been easier if someone else would've done it for me. I especially liked the clear and concise assembly instructions and the fact that all of the screws and nuts were packaged separately in their own little compartment in the box of hardware (see included photo). That made it very to know which screws/nuts were which! The first thing I wanted to try in this smoker was brisket. I prepped the meat, put a mixture of beef broth and water in the water pan, filled the wood chip bowl with hickory chips, and got everything started. One thing I really like about the Cuisinart smoker as opposed to my Masterbuilt is the fact that the wood chips have no direct contact with the flame. This allows the chips to burn and smoke slowly at an even temperature. With my Masterbuilt, the wood chip pan has openings that allow the flame to touch the chips. This can sometimes result in flare-ups, which produce a high level of smoke and cause temperature fluctuations. No such trouble with the Cuisinart! I also like that the Cuisinart's doors seal pretty tightly. This means there is minimal heat/smoke loss around the edges of the doors. The two separate doors also make it easier to check the flame and add wood chips without opening the main door. This helps keep the smoker temps steady. One suggestion: If the wood/water pan had a bit of a handle on it, it would be much easier to get out of the smoker while wearing silicone gloves or using a pot holder. But that's a minor gripe. It was easy to maintain a constant temperature while smoking the brisket, even over the course of 12 hours on a cold Michigan day/night. And the finished product was every bit as delicious as other briskets I've smoked in other smokers. (See the photo I've included.) The Cuisinart COS-244 smoker is a solidly built smoker that should serve the purposes of almost everyone. The four racks allow you to fit a lot of meat into the smoker at once. They are also removable, so you can fit bigger, taller things like a turkey inside. The handles are study, stay cool to the touch, and lock the doors tightly. Even the metal plate with the Cuisinart name on it is high quality. Like I said before, I expect this unit to last many years. Purists may not be too keen on propane smokers, but I love them. And this Cuisinart, even though it's a bit smaller than my Masterbuilt, will be getting a workout from me going forward. I highly recommend it to anyone who's looking for a well-built, excellent performing smoker. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced smoker, the COS-244 is an excellent choice! P.S. A word about Cuisinart's customer service: When I unpacked my smoker, one of the brackets was broken off one of the racks. It was obvious that the weld just came apart somehow. So I emailed Cuisinart and got a response right away saying they would send a replacement rack out ASAP. I had the new rack in three days. Ya gotta love that!

I love this Pellet Gril!
I purchased this grill because of the Cuisinart brand and the low price. Assembly: the Cuisinart is relatively easy to assemble. The instructions are straight forward and easy to follow. A neighbor and I put it together in a little over one hour. I think it would be much more difficult alone. My recommendation is to place the grill on a piece of thick cardboard or cloth to avoid scratching when connecting the legs. Quality: The quality seems great! Very sturdy and well thought out design. First time use Easy to follow directions to test each function to make sure the grill is working properly and burn off anything before cooking the first time. We used an empty can for grease that feeds into it. Usage This is an amazingly easy grill to use. Just add in the pellets, turn it on and within a few minutes add the food. so far i have cooked hamburgers and chicken. both were delicious. i have struggled with smoking meat in the past and i became competent in one try. Pellets The Cuisinart does not come with pellets so i drove to Home Depot and picked up Hickory flavor which tastes great. We still have our gas grill for now that sears meat better. Time will tell if i keep it too.

Better built then Traeger grill.
By far the best pellet grill deal on Amazon! Better built then the Traeger and identical to the Z Grills ZPG-450a but $100 less.
