This electric fly swatter works great! It works for a long time before it needs to be charged (it’s nice to have a rechargeable battery powering the thing!), and it’s pretty good at zapping houseflies and mosquitoes (fruit flies, so-so, but a roll of fly paper works for them). A couple of notes, though: 1. Don’t throw away your old manual fly swatter! They have two different uses that each is best for. The electric fly swatter is good for killing flies mid-air and for catching them against a wall, curtain, etc. The manual fly swatter is good for when a fly is sitting against a hard, flat-ish surface (like a wall or radiator pipe), but you can’t easily trap the thing by banging the electric fly swatter flush against the surface. The manual fly swatter is better for this. It’s also good for swatting at flies that are hard-to-reach with the electric fly swatter. 2. Practice makes perfect! You won’t be killing tons of flies at first. Every human has a hunting instinct—use yours. Eventually you’ll find a rhythm that works for you. As a bonus, you’ll improve your tennis swing. 3. Once you kill a fly (you’ll know by the “snap” noise the fly swatter makes), dump it in the trash/toilet/enemy’s lunch/whatever. If you keep the button pressed, trying to swat another fly, the electric current will continue to pass through the already-deceased fly until it essentially vaporizes it. It’s overkill, and it stinks like burning hair. Be aware, though, that particularly large flies, like horseflies, need to be zapped a few (several) times before they perish. 4. If you have housecats, they may be frightened by this. I have no idea why. It could be the sound of the current or the “snap” when you kill a fly; it could be that they’re afraid of being smacked with it?; it could be they’ve befriended your pests and are aggrieved, watching you kill their airborne buddies; it could be that they’re secretly angry because they wanted the opportunity to kill the flies themselves—not that they would, as that’s too much like work—but they resent having the opportunity taken away from them. Who knows? They’re cats. But be forewarned—you might send your kitties scrambling when you whip this baby out. All this said, this product is totally worth the money. Happy hunting!

This one works and works well! Zapped a lot, no phantom sparks, and it keeps getting them. An invasion at a relatives house has been neutralized, few to zap now, VERY VERY few. Buy with confidence!

My house was filled with flies. I zapped 3 flies. I don't know what became of their body. I looked forward to killing some more. But in 2 days there were no more flies. I think there is communication. The flies got the message when they saw their friends get killed. I don't know how they communicated once dead. I once had flea bites just awful all over my legs. I ate yeast. In 38 years I have never had another flea bite, live is same location. They must have told their relatives her blood tastes awful, go somewhere else. But I dont know how a zapped fly told the others to go away. But they were all gone in 2 days.

Love the form factor and it catches a surprising amount of bugs! We live on a island in the caribbean and its shocking how many bugs this thing zaps under the bed, tables and chairs. Its made a world of difference. Bought 3 more!

We have been fighting a losing battle with gnats for months now. After spraying chemicals, hanging fly strips everywhere, setting out liquid baits - nothing seemed to work until we bought this racket. After charging, our first sweep of the house eradicated about 90% of the infestation. Within two days, we were down to just seeing the occasional gnat. The racket works great and does what it’s supposed to with no harmful chemicals. It is loud, you will know it’s working, and just beware that larger insects my explode rather than incinerate.

OMG! This thing killed lots of bugs in my back yard. Plus, It’s like playing badminton when I swing my arms to catching those bags. It was fun! The USB charging feature have made it so convenient to use and environmentally friendly. The packaging of this product might look cheap, but it’s a good thing to have!

Ordered a couple of two-packs to make sure our outdoor party was a success. Of course, I forgot to open them until the day of the party, so I can't tell you just how long it takes to charge one, but every time I screeched to a halt and checked the light, it was time to plug in the next. (Love that a light tells you when it's fully charged.) Each comes with their own charging cord so if you have several wall-outlet to USB adapters you can charge them all at one. Party started at 5:00pm. The kids kept us safe from mosquitoes all night long, and they were still going strong at midnight. Cons: The protective mesh was bent down into the electric screen on one unit and the edge of the mesh had come loose on another. Both were easily fixed in under two minutes with a pair of tweezers. And... kids should be told not to swat bugs sitting on branches! Small sticks will penetrate the protective mesh and fry spots on the electric screen. It still works, but just not in that spot. Beastron Bug Zapper Rechargeable Mosquito, Fly Killer and Bug Zapper Racket, 3000 Volt Usb Charging, Super-Bright Led Light to Zap in the Dark Unique 3 Layer Safety Mesh that's Safe to Touch-2 Pack

Nifty little thing! Just make sure to not touch it to your own skin as it WILL shock you (painfully so). Tried it outside on a warm night with some mosquitoes roaming around and it zapped each and every one of them! It charges relatively fast with the micro-usb port (I charged it for about 40 min from dead and it was full) and there's even a LED light built in, though I wouldn't use it as a primary flashlight. Oh and the lightning bolt on the racket makes it look pretty cool!

I live by the coast in SoCal.. to put this over my sink and hear the rapid sequential burst of 6 fruit flies meeting their demise is an experience one can only appreciate in person. I had a vicious mosquito inhabiting my bathroom, with zapper in hand I sat down to do my business and I said come at me bro... let’s just say it didn’t end well for the little blood sucker. I’m not sure if you’ve ever felt a deep sense of resolute revenge & karma with your pants around your ankles but if you haven’t this zapper is your opportunity.

This thing is AWESOME. If I could, I'd give it TEN stars. Whomever invested this device deserves an award. Charge it, turn it on, hold down a button . . . and zap the bugs dead. It's just that easy. This is truly a great idea. I live in Florida, where the mosquitoes are sometimes relentless, especially at dusk. If I'm going to be outside for awhile, I wear repellant, no problem, but sometimes you want to go outside without having to douse yourself in chemicals . . . and this Bug Zapper makes that possible. Take the dog out for a break, zap the mosquitoes. Need to smoke a cigarette? No problem, grab the Zapper. Need to get something out of the shed? Take the Zapper. To test it, I went outside after charging the battery. One side of my house is always shaded and covered in wet leaves. It's a mosquito haven. I went outside in shorts, around to the side of the house, kicked up some wet leaves and the Zapper did it's thing. It was like Forth of July. I stood out there for maybe fifteen minutes, zapping bugs. I got only one mosquito bite. Without the Zapper, I would have been covered in mosquito bites. It's safe to use, too. The part that zaps the bugs is actually "inside", between each layer of mesh. Also, you have to hold down a button to zap the bugs, so it's impossible to accidently hurt someone or yourself. I love that it's rechargeable, too. No batteries to go replace. I highly recommend this product.
