I purchased the large option, because I knew I wanted to quarantine my new shrimp arrivals and I wanted them to have space. I have a 5.5 gallon and it takes up 1/2 of the front of my tank (lengthwise) and 1/2 of the width (see pictures.) I could have easily purchased the small size for my current needs. It'll still be nice to have it available for future use. I like having the grate, though I wasn't able to use if for my recent purchase of shrimp (they're too small and slipped through) but they couldn't slip into the tank. It's crystal clear and the suction cups work great for me. Great quality, plenty of space, easy to set up and great options for compartmentalizing it. Great buy. UPDATE******"* I also purchased the small one, you can see the size comparison in the pictures. The suction cups really don't work as well as the large size one's, it can be a bit frustrating but I sometimes purchase some REALLY young and small shrimp, that could slip out of the large option, so I still use it IF I NEED to....

It works good whenever my fish are picking on older fish. Haven’t used it yet for actual babies but I’m sure it works. It floats easily even without attaching it to the wall.

Keep in mind that this breeder box was meant for GUPPIES which are very small. It feels pretty solid and hold plant clippings, keeping my tank looking much nicer.

I love it, it does EXACTLY what it is supposed to do. Product is attractive and apprars well built. Its a pretty blue which looks great in my reef tank.

Very good breeder

This is an early review since there are no baby guppies yet. There are holes in 2 sides of the lower tank, about 1mm wide. The divider between top and bottom has slightly wider slits about 1.5mm. There are a few slits in the lid as well. If the babies can slip through the bottom slits I believe I can block them in with a little gravel against the slits. Yes, it is very small, but the measurements were as described and I have a small tank. It lost a star for the tiny suction cups. I have to agree with the other reviewers in that I doubt they will hold. I will anchor it the best I can and let it float. This was still the best option for me since the 8” ones do not fit.
