Seriously impressive performance for price point - VS250 SVGA
I was nervous ordering 'only' the low res SVGA version of this VS250 for movie nights, especially with native 4:3 aspect instead of 16:9. If I was using this as a primary display I might be able to justify a higher expense, but based on my research you would have to spend quite a bit more in order to get significant improvements. Standing a few feet out the picture is very clear and has plenty of brightness. If you are right up near the picture and it is widely scaled it is a bit grainy, but not at all bad. Its more noticeable when projecting text and not nearly as much with games, video, or anything with a moving picture. All in all zero concern even in a moderately brightly lit room for video but you may need better resolution for a business setting. Colors and contrast are awesome. I had tried a 1500 lumen projector before this one and was underwhelmed. The speaker is not great so plan on using an external speaker. Im using my Creative portable blootooth plugged in via aux. Anyway, here are some pictures of this thing in action. For reference, this is being projected on to a beige wall from the opposite side of the room. I am 100% happy with this purchase and have a screen on order to use outdoors when it gets warmer again.

Great projector
I bought this projector to use in my bedroom with a casual setup. The image is very good, and subtitles are easy to read. The text is slightly granulated due to the resolution, but it isn't something that I notice while I'm watching. The color is pretty good too. I keep it on eco mode and I have no issue with the color or brightness. I have an 11 ft projector distance and the image is roughly 90 inches using a 16:9 ratio. One annoying thing about this projector is that it always projects at 4:3 ratio, but it projects pure black bars when viewing in 16:9. They really aren't that noticeable, but I would prefer if it didn't operate this way. The only other complaint is that there is no audio out. It has built in speakers, which are ok, but you need to buy an hdmi extractor to output audio to external speakers. Extractors are ~$20. I think that you can buy a wireless dongle as well for bluetooth speakers. The image definitely wont compare to a 4K tv image, but I think that the image is great for a budget projector. I have no regrets buying it.

Great projector, but you need an HDMI to HDMI converter to use external speakers with it (sold separately)
So far, so good. This projector has been great thus far for our outdoor movie nights. I was a little miffed at first that I couldn’t connect my external speakers to this expensive projector. However, with a little research and a lot of scanning the inter webs, I found a nifty gadget that helped me achieve my goal. The gadget was an HDMI to HDMI plus optical/audio converter. That is a necessity if you desire to use external speakers with this projector. All in all, it’s been great thus far!

Very satisfied with the Epson VS250. An excellent budget home theater projector.
Purchased the VS250 after returning a pico projector. The pico projector wasn't bright enough for presentations or a home theater. The room had to essentially be pitch black, and even then it was dim. Not the VS250. It is very bright, even in daylight, and the colors are vivid and the picture is clear. I'm using it along with a Verizon Fios DVR and the quality of the picture is really good. I have the projector about 11 ft away from a white screen and I'm sitting about 6 feet behind the projector. Is the picture as good as my 50" Panasonic plasma tv? No. But the Epson holds its own and for the price, and considering how large the image is on the screen, I'm very happy with the results. The small speaker in the projector is OK in a pinch, but you'd be much better off using external speakers.

A great projector!
We purchased this projector to use for meetings of a social group, and its debut was at a luncheon for over 160 people. The picture was clear and crisp even though there was strong sunlight coming in the windows of the meeting hall. The only glitch was that, by connecting a laptop computer to the projector with an HDMI cable, I didn't realize that the DVD's sound would come through the projector and not the computer. Now I know for the next time we use it!

and its pretty much plug and play
I bought this for outdoor movie watching, and its pretty much plug and play. It was recommended as the projector of choice by an outdoor theatre guys guide I found on the net. As Im no expert, its perfect, the functions are relatively simple to identify and use. There are a number of ways to connect, but I read that the gold standard is HDMI for the digital content - so I used the projector in conjunction with my mac laptops using a belkin display port to HDMI connector, as well as a USB C to HDMI connector (this one was made by Apple and I prefer it). The projector is bright enough to watch without it having to be pitch black which is ideal, and the price seemed reasonable for the specs it offers. I'm looking forward to lots of summers watching movies outside with my kids, and think it will double up well as an extra screen should I need one.

Best projector at this price point.
This is an amazing projector for the price. I use it for movies, video games, and occasionally projecting spreadsheets. Very bright and very good contrast for this price range. There are much better hi def projectors available for twice the price, but this is the only one I found at this price that is decent enough for movies and TV, bright enough to use in the daytime (with shades drawn), and displays legible text. Keystone correction is really effective, even focus from top to bottom of screen.

Love it for Clarity in Bright Room and Ease of Use!
I'm a lay teacher, author and publisher. I purchased this unit for the classes I teach. I've only had it for 2 days, and so far I love it. It gives a clear picture in a bright room. The PC-Free feature, which uses a thumb drive, works well after I converted each of my PPT slides to jpegs. Although it still shows instructions at the bottom, it's worth not having to carry my laptop with me all the time. I had to purchase a separate HDMI cable, but once connected to my laptop, it duplicates everything that's displayed on my laptop. I had to use PC controls to advance my slideshow; the remote didn't seem to be designed for that, or maybe I still need to figure that part out. The instructions were clear, but the unit is very intuitive even without reading them. Maybe I'm just on a high, because the cheap one I purchased and returned was so bad. I highly recommend this Epson. $300 was a good investment in my business and myself.

Great projector no sound output.
Great projector as advertised the good seems very well built average size for a projector maybe a little on the smaller side. What I like the picture quality is good the brightness is good it will in my opinion satisfy most people especially for the price. I purchased a Chinese projector that claimed to be hd and had supposedly 3000 lumens none of that was true. This is exactly what it says. The bad there is no sound output and the speakers are not the best. Do not count on using them for outside or for presentations they won’t cut it. I am using my sound bar for sound at home and will use a Bluetooth speaker for presentations. This would be awesome if it had built in Bluetooth. None of the projectors in this class do that are made by a reputable brand so can’t fault it for that. Overall very happy and will not be sending it back. This is my second Epson projector if it last as long as the first it will be 300 well spent.
