Works well with Windows, but not my Macbook

This dvd drive does what it is supposed to do in Windows. However, my MacBook Pro with High Sierra would not recognize the drive. Seller sent me an upgraded model and it looks good in black, is USB 3.0 and works well with MacBook Pro. Update: I changed my rating to 5 stars given the great customer service I received and the upgraded drive works so well. I believe if you purchase and have any issues, seller will make it right quickly based on my experience.

Works As Advertised

This really works just as advertised. Just connect it to the Mac's USB port and it opens up iTunes and does the work of extracting data or burning tunes, quickly and easily. I especially liked that there was no software to install and that the brushed silver body perfectly matches the Mac's chassis. It works so well that I have purchased three altogether; one for each Mac in my household. I would, without reservation, recommend this drive to anyone looking for an affordable add-on to a Mac with a burned out internal drive.

Solid, well made

This Portable Optical Drive is sturdy, solid, & well made. Very quiet, plug & play, and works well. I have an LG portable optical drive that is very flimsy and every time I go to put in a disc I'm afraid to break the door, this one feels completely solid and I do not have a worry of it breaking each time I use it.

Light and working great on iMac Mojave 10.14

Got this baby two days ago and had 23 vintage CDs saved to a hard drive. My Mac don’t have a cd/dvd drive so I got this one to try, guessed the price was good to give it a try and it’s working wonderfully so far. Better than expected. I’ve tried dvds but just to view and haven’t burned anything yet but I’m pretty sure it works. Have another 50+ discs in line and will update later in the event it fails me. Got my vote of recommendation!

Product is satisfactory but customer service really shines!

I was recommended this disk drive by a youtuber. For this price, I got exactly what I was hoping for. It works for almost all of my DVDs and CDs, sometimes with a little bit of fuss, but overall I was happy. The vendor contacted me to see if I was satisfied and even offered to send me an additional disk drive for free if I was interested! Since the one I bought was just a bit flawed, I agreed to receive a new one. I'm not sure if it's the exact same model or an upgraded one, but it has worked perfectly so far! I'm really happy with the support I got from the vendor and I'd buy from them again.

Excellent for audio CDs

Needed this only as a CD player. My new iMac 4k does not have a CD slot (my mid 2011 did - I know antiquated tech)) Perfect -- connected to new iMac now playing audio CDs through Itunes - audio output from Imac connects to Yamaha receiver. Super value. Five star review indeed. And I can add songs to iTunes library as well.

Great product, price and support.

I needed an external DVD W/R for my MacAir. I was apprehensive to purchase this as it seemed to good to be true, especially with the price. However, and to my surprise, I have performed all tasks without fail: it reads audios CDs, plays DVDs and for my purpose, helped me edit a DVD for work--all without problems! Yea! I definitely put it through the test these past few days and the product has performed great and beyond my expectations. Also, the seller is very responsive as I had a couple questions. Would definitely buy from this company again!

Just buy it. It plays and records. You can't go wrong.

Ready to go right out of the box. Now instead of constantly using my data streaming. I can play my daughters favorite dvd and plug and play into her tablet. I also hooked it up to my survalance system at home and now I can record in high quality on a disk that I can give away. Very quiet and seems to be made of quality material. For the price, I could not go wrong.

Excellent DVD CD burner player. Great price also

I recently purchased a new Laptop computer and it does not have a CD/DVD player. after looking over different ones I choose this one. It was packaged well. I plugged it in inserted a DVD and it works perfectly. I burned a CD and a DVD. You are not supposed to copy some DVD, however this DVD player/recorder is capable of that. This is a great DVD player and the cost was very good. Can't comment on durability because I just got it, but it does look well made. I would recommend this as a add-on or to replace a bad DVD player in your
