An excellent little phone holder

This phone holder is very nice (so nice that I ordered a second one for our other car). It holds onto the vent reasonably well (you might want to check it every week or so to make sure that it's not slipping off), it's easy to install and remove, and it hold the phone securely from three directions. The bottom shelf is particularly nice (my former holder did not have one, and the phone would slip down and sometimes out of the holder, and the side holders have both friction fit and small lips to hold the phone in place. It replaces a phone holder that sticks to the windshield. Although there are advantages to that--easier to see--it was not good for (my) Android phones, which tend to overheat when used as GPSs. Because this holder mounts on an air vent, it's easy to keep the phone cool.

Am happy to say it did

Was concerned whether the product would hold the iPhone 6s inside an Otter box protective cover. Am happy to say it did, even though the Otter box’s thickness exceeds the two bottom feet of this holder. Had to squeeze the two sides really hard to ensure that they grip the Otter box tightly. Have already made a long trip of nearly a 1000 miles without the phone falling out. Really love the ball and socket joint since you can angle the phone just right to avoid glare. But tightening the nut on the rear is a pain, especially if you have big fat fingers. Would be nice if that too were a similar mechanism to the lever used to tighten the clamps on the car’s air vent vane.

Great idea and safe!

This is such a great product. I have used it for a week and am very impressed on the ease and usefulness of this cellphone holder. I used to keep my cell phone in a place I could not see it and my phone would sometimes fall down under my feet. Very dangerous. Now it is up high and I do not have to keep looking down anymore, especially for directions. I highly recommend this product and purchased a second one.

Well designed product

This is exactly what I needed. I use the gps on my phone whenever I am going anywhere, even familiar places. There's a lot of traffic where I live, and it really helps me by alerting me to the best route under current conditions. With the new hands free laws, I needed to find a way to continue using my phone's gps without having to hold the phone. This is a good solution. I had tried a holder that sits on the dash with a suction cup, but it just wouldn't stick to my dash. My car has horizontal air vents in the middle, and vertical vents to the sides. This works great on the middle vents, although it slightly blocks the view of my backup camera. I tried it on the vertical vents, which solved my backup camera problem, but the phone flops from side to side every time I turn. After about 2 weeks of use, I don't notice the issue with my backup camera anymore, and I love this. I've seen a couple of other versions of this, and this one seems to be easier to use. It's quick and easy to put the phone into the holder, and the button release is nice and smooth, making it easy to remove as well.

I have been searching for exactly this type of phone holder to fit my Samsung S8 plus phone. It is a little larger than some phone with my phone case on so has not been easy to feel safe in purchasing the right one? I do sales so I travel a lot throughout the year and having this holder is a true convince. I tried to purchase other brands and I have found this one from Beam Electronics to be perfect in holding my S8 phone/case in alignment. You can tighten the holder to secure the alignment then clamp it onto the air vent vines with no issues. I liked it so well I asked my wife if she wanted me to buy her one as well. SO you know it got to work!

The beat smartphone car air vent mount!

The Beam Electronics Universal Smartphone Car Mount is fabulous. I had tried other competitor's offerings and they were cheaply made and cumbersome to use. As soon as I took the Beam out of the box I recognized the quality and the brilliance of the design. The release button automatically opens the cradle's arms and the allows you to snugly hold your phone it and will not move. Additionally, it's part that grabs the car's air vent fins has two settings, allowing for the perfect fit whether your car has thick or thin fins. Once your phone is mounted, it stays put, despite the terrain you're driving on. I bought the Beam specifically for my new iPhone X and it works great, along with any case. It has the perfect size opening for the lightning cable and even allows me to unlock my iPhone with Face ID while driving without having to take my eyes off of the road. Moreover, Beam has provided excellent customer service. I cannot recommend this product enough. Thank you, Beam for a terrific product!

Great Way to Keep My Eyes to the Front

This might be the smartest device I have. It is the perfect size for my car, was easy to assemble and keeps my iPhone 7 in plain view. The instructions for fitting the device came ahead of time which made the entire experience a pleasure.

Best road trip essential!

A great buy at a great price! I've gone through several similar pieces. None made it to a great rating. Finally found what we were looking for. Easy to take your phone on and off. It's sturdy, not cheap feel, it's good quality! Easy to take off with one hand. Not too much weight for the air vent (I was concerned about this) but not a problem!

Honestly, I was really skeptical about the quality and functionality of this mount because of the price but let me tell you...I am shocked. No wonder this thing has such a great rating. Go ahead and buy a few while you're at it. I have 3 of them in each of my cars. It holds my phone no matter the orientation and I haven't had an issue with the phone slipping at all. My only issue so far has been the tightening screw that adjusts the orientation but I figured that it was my fault. I tightened the screw pretty tight but was scared to overtighten it because it's plastic. Vibration cause the screw to come a bit loose and the phone flopped around. I tightened it pretty tight the second time and haven't had an issue since. Go ahead and buy it. I researched a few mounts before buying this and compared the reviews...this was the definite winner.
