I'm using this with a HUSBZB-1 and Home Assistant and it works great. Setup was standard for a Z-Wave device and HA. Battery life is unknown at this time, as I have no had it long enough. Mounting can be done with the included adhesive strips or there are small holes where you could use a nail or screw to attach. Here are a few of the attributes that show up within HA: battery_level: 100 product_name: Unknown: type=0002, id=0001 node_name: Unknown: id=0214 Unknown: type=0002, id=0001 manufacturer_name: Unknown: id=0214 wake_up_interval: 86400 averageRequestRTT: 0 max_baud_rate: 40000 is_info_received: true is_zwave_plus: true lastResponseRTT: 0 is_ready: true capabilities: zwave_plus,routing,beaming is_failed: false is_awake: true It also shows up as a binary sensor(of course).

I reached out to the company and they replaced the unit and shipped it super fast. Bad units happen. But a company that responds as they did is a rarity. Purchased 3 of these less than 2 months ago. I only installed 2 at the time. One failed after about 6 weeks. It shows "Closed" all the time. Changing batteries, Resetting/Exclusion didn't do any good. When I remove the case it shows "Open". But as soon as I put it back in the case, it shows "Closed" and anything I try don't help. I installed the third one now. Let's see if that fairs any better. The one good thing so far is they are easy to include and exclude.

Personal Experience: During the summer my kids kept leaving the storm door open so I needed something that would let me know if it was open. I purchased this sensor and paired it with my SmartThings hub and I have been very pleased. The sensor does a great job of signalling when a door is open or closed. Linking to the hub was extremely easy (less than a minute) and lets me set alerts if the door was open for longer than 15 minutes so that is a big plus. The sensor is between my storm door and front door so that area can get pretty hot during the summer and cold in the winter, but it works very well in both temperature extremes. I've had this for months and the battery says 99% so I'm not concerned about the battery life, it should last for a few years at the current rate. Pros: Easy to install Senses Open and Close very well Syncs to my SmartThings Hub Works in both Hot and Cold Extremes Battery has gone down 1% in 2 months Cons: None I have seen so far

I currently own 2 movement sensors of this brand and they work perfectly, they have native support in smartthings, the pairing is very easy and fast, so I decided to give the sensors a chance to open and close, and I was not disappointed. , they work perfectly, they are more bulky than the others, but that is due to the AAA batteries, which is not an impediment but an advantage against the most expensive CR batteries, maybe it does not have a temperature sensor, but who wants a temperature sensor in a door sensor, for the price has been one of my best investments, comes with a couple of batteries AMAZON brand, so I'm sure to be good, not like others who have Chinese batteries that they do not last long

I originally had a Visonic MCT-340 sensor in my workshop as used it mostly for intrusion alerts or to know if the door was open. That sensor worked, most of the time, even though the reporting amount of battery life was all over the place, and never really trusted it. After two years, it was getting to where it was losing the connection often and just decided to replace it. I bought this one and so far, have been satisfied with it. It is larger, with the AAA batteries, but that's OK as should last a lot longer than the button batteries in the Visonic MCT-340, which was about every 9 months. While the Visonic MCT-340 did have a thermometer, and this one does not, it was not something I really needed and wonder if that contributed to the shorter battery life. Since it's in a workshop, the larger size is not a concern for me, although could see in some places, might not want a larger unit. My work shop does get down below freezing sometimes in the middle of the winter, and if you are installing it in a location that does, I suggest you install lithium AAA batteries as they are not going to freeze like a an alkaline battery will. The range is good too, as it has to go through two exterior walls to connect to the Smarthings (V2.0) hub, and it's about 35 foot aaway I plan on buying 1-2 more soon. I uploaded a couple of pictures that show the size compared to the Visonic MCT-340 if considering the same replacement.

I have a rental condo in the Caribbean that I use a smart things hub to turn off the AC when the doors are open. I used the smart things zigbee door sensors and was having to use a repeater and was frustrated to have to replace batteries in the sensors every few months. I just installed these and they paired easily and did not require the repeater. I am anxious to see if the batteries last at least a year as advertised. So far so good.

Very fast pairing to the hub. In the beginning, the sensor reported false sense status after being open for several hours. Contacted the seller and received detailed instructions on how to update the device handler. After the update, it has been working perfectly. After nearly two weeks, battery status still show 100%. I highly recommend this product because it’s among the few that use AAA batteries, which are easy to find or recharge, works like it should, and most importantly, the seller stands behind the product and provides full support.

I use this as a mailbox (notification) sensor. I had an Iris window/door sensor out there, but it began giving me trouble with connecting to the house and going through expensive CR2 batteries. This one doesn't have a temp sensor built in (which was kind of nice in the Iris) but it has been 100% reliable since installation. Hopefully it lasts.

I had another brand button battery one which also monitors Temperature, and battery life was very poor every 2 + month I had to change battery and it quit working. After much research I bought this one. I have this Besense sensor for more than 3 months now. Using it with SmartThings. It works great! Battery life is still 100% which is very good!!! I love this for battery life I don’t have to change battery often anymore!!

Sensor integrated securely with my zwave network immediately, and the response time is extremely fast. I currently use it to trigger a zigbee light to turn on in the enclosed porch when the exterior door is opened, and the light is turning on well before the door is fully opened. In fact, the door is usually only open a couple of inches when the light turns on. I could see reinstalling batteries to be a challenge down the road due to back cover design, but I cannot actually speak to that yet.
