Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Model 7573

This lock works with the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Model 7573. Took me a couple of tries to reset the combo, but not a big deal as I don't expect to need to reset it again. I saw some reviews that said the lock does not fit tight against the laptop and wiggles a bit. I found that to be true, although no more so than my previous laptop lock. Initially the locking cylinder looked too big for my laptop as it extended past the bottom of the laptop and did not allow the computer to lay flat on the desk. Turns out the locking mechanism is not centered in cylinder and when I turned it over it fits fine. Cable thickness is on par with my previous lock. This product will do what I need it to do.

Why did Dell change the standard cable lock? OK that is a question for Dell. This is about the only one I found that was for the new Dell small cable lock spot on my Dell computer. And that is combination. I wanted only combination 'cause who wants to have a set of keys for the computer lock. And it fits and works. Easy to program my own combination.

needed it for work. it is easy to program and works fine so far. PS: why did DEll decide to do the laptop lock holes smaller for their new models? so we can all by new locks? my old ones work fine but now useless!

Great Product , but Validate Compatibility First!!

Be careful - different computers are using different slots. This is made very well, but not compatible with my Dell.

Secure and simple.

Bought this for my sons Dell G7. The connection is very secure and seems it will keep the honest people honest. If someone is out stealing laptops then it may not hold up to a quality pair of diagonal cutters. I cut cable at work this big in a snap with mine. This size seems to be the standard though. I love the combo lock dosent do any good to have to worry about a key in your dorm room.

I hope this gadget is reasonably tamper-proof. At least it gives you a good feeling that your laptop is safe. It works well with my Dell XPS 13 (9370).

A good deterrent

Does what I hoped it would do. Locks easily to the new Dell laptops. If someone really wanted to steal the laptop, they could yank it, and the plastic casing of the laptop would probably break, but this sort of lock is a good deterrent and brings peace of mind when you have to take a quick restroom break at the coffee shop.

It's a Laptop Lock

I'm required to use one of these since I take my work home. It covers me against disciplinary action in that I followed the security guidelines set forth by my employer. However, this product (or any other laptop lock) will not stand up to a determined thief. It can be easily defeated with a cheap wire cutter. Also, a good yank will do the trick but it will be the structure of the laptop that fails, not the lock. I gave it five stars because it does what it was designed to do - deter theft. Deter does not mean prevent so be aware of that.

Great lock for the Noble-type lock slot. Fits our Dell Latitude 7280 and 7480 securely. Love the combination option over keys!

High quality

Very happy with this lock so far. The cable has a dual-swivel attachment to the laptop so it's easy to orient it at any angle. And the combination wheels move nice and easily, but naturally stop on the discrete numbers, making it easy to enter the combination (with a good feel).
