can't beat it for the price
They work great for the home hobbies or casual contractor. I'm not sure if I would use them in a machine shop but they are a great inexpensive addition to the tool box.

Worked as described
The collars work as described...my daughter and I built a planter stand with 2 posts and several platforms supported by triangle cut wood. We used 5/16' and 7/16" wood dowels as well as wood screws to hold it all together. The collars provided the appropriate stop depth so that the wood dowels would fit snugly with no play. The set has 7 various sized collars that I am sure, will come in handy for other projects. The vendor, Drixet shipped and delivered in time for us to begin the project when we needed them.

Well made. Economical. Saved my bacon...
Worked really well. I purchased some old early 80's Bose 901 Series V speakers. I lusted after these when I was a kid and could never afford them. Got some in really good condition 'furniture wise', but the 18 5" speakers suffered from foam-rot. After a rather tedious set of hours, I was able to re-foam all of them and they really sounded good... What I didn't like was that Bose used simple wood screws to attach the cabinets to the iconic Bose retro-stands. Wood screws into particle board will chew up the cabinets if replaced multiple times. I used the drill stops to limit the depth during installation of some EZ-Lok threaded inserts. Worked great! I installed all 8 inserts with nary a goof. I used masking tape to protect the walnut veneer over particle board and used Gorilla glue to help keep the inserts in place 'forever'. Replaced the wood screws with stainless hex head 8-32 screws and now I don't have to worry about ever messing up the threads if I have to tear-down the speakers multiple times from their stands. Caution: Drill bits are extremely hard tempered metal. Don't be afraid to crank down the set-screw in the collar. AND test that you have to stop tightened enough by drilling first on scrap. I would have punctured the nice cabinetry if I hadn't tried it out first on some junk wood.

Finally graduated from a tape marker
Like many, for years I have used some kind of masking tape on bits to mark depth. While it may be fine for a hole or two, accuracy of repetitive uses just isn’t there. I should have done this long ago.

Great product, great company.
This product is a great idea. I've only tried a couple of the sizes, but so far it has worked great. When you have to drill deeper than the bit would reach and you have to insert the bit half way only into the drill, it effectively stops the bit from being pushed back into the drill. I used it to drill deeper plot holes into the studs behind the dry wall. It beats having to buy a whole set of longer bits. Great product, great company.

WOW! Seven stop-collars for under $10?
WOW! Seven stop-collars for under $10? I've spent that much for just ONE collar when I needed it the same day. The words in the item's title ("drill stop bit collar...") are jumbled -- should say "stop-collars for drill bits". I'm pretty sure the most common use for these stop-collars is on bits in electric drills. If you're using a drill press, you have precise control on depth of hole. but in a hand held drill, it's easy to wind up with holes that are too deep, or not deep enough. Slide your bit into one of these gizmos, extend it to the exact depth-of-hole you want, and tighten the set-screw. If I'm drilling a shallow hole, and have to position the collar where there are flutes, I just twist the bit until the set-screw goes into the gullet between flutes...it's more secure -- don't worry about nicking the flutes a bit, they aren't really used to cut, they just pull debris out of the hole. Don't tighten the set-screw too much, you shouldn't be putting any real pressure on the collar, just stop drilling as the collar gets to the surface of the wood or plastic or metal being drilled. And these stop-collars are useful for more than just drill bits -- they work on any tool with a round handle. I use these collars when I'm dressing a grinding wheel, or changing its "geometry". If you have a wheel that's out of round, and you have a dressing tool with a round handle, you can position one of these collars to hold the dressing tool back so that it just barely touches the spinning wheel, slide the tool back and forth on the tool rest until it no longer is removing material, then adjust the collar to allow a bit more extension (maybe a 64th of an inch or so?), and repeat until the wheel is round. This chore is really difficult (for me at least) without a stop-collar. These may not be German engineered super-high-precision items. What can you expect for $8? But of the four I've used so far, three of them fit the bits quite well - i.e., the bits slid into the collars without a lot of slop, so the tolerances are pretty good. On the 7/16" collar, I had to remove a small spur with a rat-tail file, but then it fit well. Altogether, this was a great buy. I'm getting another set for our off-grid property.

Worked quite well
Not much to say other than it worked exactly as I expected and for a decent price. It's not like it gives me an erection or anything but in drilling some holes for dowel pins using the 1/4 in collar worked perfectly.

Great product, these collars fit all the common bit ...
Great product, these collars fit all the common bit sizes I need collar stops on. They made it a breeze to set and keep a consistent depth for the drawer slider holes required on my drawer backs for the pins at the back of my blum drawer sliders.

Various size drill stops.
I have not used these yet. The price was good. The delivery was quick. The quality looks just fine. I have read other reviews and don't think the problems described will be much of a problem. I will be using this infrequently and on small projects. I used to work in sheetmetal when I was younger and we used to drill and cut wood dowels for drill stops. These should be a bit handier for light duty.

Well made
These stop bit collars worked very well for the project I as working on. Wish I had bought these years ago. Well made and should last a long time. I do wish they had arrived with a case of some sort.
