Easier for my puppy to learn than I was expecting
I wanted something to stop my puppy from scratching at my screen door. We use a regular bell inside but can’t hear one if it’s outside. Then I found this dog doorbell. I honestly thought my pup would *maybe* *eventually* learn to use it. But she figured it out the same day I put it up. She knows the “touch” command, where she will touch her nose to my fingers, so I just had her touch my fingers over the doorbell and kind of helped her trigger the sound, and then praised her and opened the door. I did that 4 or 5 times and by the end of the day she was doing it by herself. I wouldn't say she is particularly easy to train, either, so it would probably work for most dogs.

great but takes patience
We are still training our golden how to use the smart bell. He had almost pressed it when i put a treat near it and as he ate the treat i pressed it for him. It has several tones even nutcracker and happy birthday and santa is coming to town. I bought two complete sets and changed the ring of the one downstairs so the bell upstairs is inside for i need out and the bell downstairs is activated from outside for i need in. My husband and i are used to rescue dogs who were already trained so our new puppy is retraining us on what he needs. It takes patience but once we train him to do the bell we can stop waiting for him to sniff the carpet and barely making it. He is five months old.

Works great. Easy to set up
Works great. Easy to set up. We can't see our back door from most places in the house so it was really important for our puppy to be able to communicate she needed out during potty training. I didn't want a a real bell hanging by the door scratching things up. This is also better for a large house because you can locate bell part wherever you want, and adjust the volume, so it can be heard throughout the house. Training the puppy to push the button was easy. Being a puppy, she was naturally curious about it, so a few treats for making the noise was all it took for her to get the idea.

Helped immensely with house training our puppy
We set this up after our dog kept trying to steal an actual bell we had hanging from the door handle. We have the button secured to the ground by our front door, and the sound-making receiver in an outlet in a central spot in our home. This works great, because our front door is not visible from anywhere in our apartment. It took a day or two of training our puppy to learn how to ring the bell. It definitely helped in housebreaking him! Before, maybe he would go to the door to "tell" us, but we couldn't tell because of our layout, so he had many accidents. Once he learned this meant going outside, he has been almost perfect. The sound is loud enough to wake me up if I'm taking a nap or he needs to go in the middle of the night. Only downside is that most of the sounds are annoying. Really annoying. I almost gave up when I was going through them. There is a standard doorbell sound that we settled on.

My dog is too dumb for this product
It works great, but apparently my dog is too dumb to figure out how to use it. I'll keep trying though! The only annoying thing was that if you hit the button to change the ring tone, you have to cycle through all of them again to get back to the basic doorbell sound. Some of the chimes in this are terrible, and there are almost 40 of them that you have to go through. That was an obnoxious (and a little bit hilarious) 10 minutes of nonsense.

Omg I should have tried this before anything else
This is super simple to use and works great! I didn't bother with the zillions of choices on the sound, the default was fine for me and my pup. Plug it in and you're ready to go -- that is very cool. We had used the hanging Jingle Bell type product, which it took my pretty smart dog longer to get the hang of than I would have thought. But she was hampered by the fact that she was afraid of them because her nail got stuck in the Jingle Bell one time and it hurt her. I thought it was a freak accident but when it happened a second time I ditched those bells and ordered this instead. This bell was more expensive than I wanted to pay but I looked at a lot of different products and some of them required the dog to hit a particular area to make it work which I didn't think could be counted on. I love that my dog can push ANYWHERE on the top pad and it works. It is was so simple for her to use, she got it right away.

My cat loves it!
I got this for my cat who likes to hang out in the basement and I got tired of running up and down the stairs to see if he wants to come up. He picked it up in a couple hours and is so proud of himself! I love it!

Easy to use for humans AND dogs!
Loved all the ring options, and how easy it was to start using straight out of the package. Literally, on the second day after installing it and showing my dog how it works, she used it properly! She had to go so bad, she rang the bell three times in a row, in quick succession. The only tiny issue was that it is a white touch pad, against our white door. With dogs not seeing White against white so well, we used electrical tape to make a dark spot in the center of it so she could find it faster and press it more accurately. Other than that, is exactly what was advertised and what we expected! We will see how long it works before breaking, and when it does, (as everything sooner or later), we will update our review.

Fun for the dog and piece of mind for the human
