BLE for IOS worked great once I updated the unit. Makes monitoring car data extremely easy!
Great interface to let you see what the car sees for data. When it works. I’m having trouble getting it to run for longer than 10 minutes. I use an iPhone and when I unplug and replay it in it works great for 10 minutes. I use it with dashcommand. Not sure if I have a bad one or if it’s overheating for some reason. **EDIT** I was contacted by Veepeak support in regards to my issue. They had a well written resolution for the issue I was having connecting to my Iphone. Unfortunately it required an android device for the update but luckily I had one on hand. It was an easy fix and works great now. I am able to maintain a stable connection indefinitely. Thanks Veepeak for delivering an Iphone bluetooth connection for OBD2. I am able to stream music, monitor my car, and wifi hotspot all at the same time. It's so much easier to use than the Wifi version. Thank you!

Great OBD scanner
This is a great Bluetooth scanner. Plug in and sync effortlessly. I use it with the iPhone app OBD Fusion and DashCmd without a hitch. A blue LED turns on to indicate that it has been plugged in then start the vehicle to start synching with the app. I left it plugged in my daily driver overnight and during the day without a problem with draining the battery (800 CCA battery). The Bluetooth also allows both syncing with the scanner and accessing the WiFi from my iPhone for data downloads and file transfers; something not possible to do with a WiFi OBD scanner. This scanner, coupled with the apps above, are also great for monitoring and logging the vehicle parameters while driving. I highly recommend this Bluetooth OBD scanner.

Good price
I finally bought a new scanner since 2006, and this one works well for the price. The problem is shoddy software on the google play store, which has nothing to do with this adapter, and you'll encounter the same poor software with other similarly-priced or cheaper devices. Torque is very poorly designed and although carista is better, it's still not very user-friendly for quick setup and display of live data without a lot of configuration. I'm just spoiled and used to decent interfaces and usability from Maestro for simple, live data. The poor 3rd party software means I would probably prefer the Bluedriver software for quick access to live data, but I didn't want to drop 100 on another scanner, initially. I may give it a try if I can't find better software. Even though I'm willing to pay for software, there hasn't been any paid software for generic obd2 devices that stood out to me or had decent UIs in the screenshots, yet, so Bluedriver is looking more appealing.

Works fine with iOS 10 and 11 (iPhones 7+, etc)
This is what you need if you're running an iOS device. My other OBDII dongle would not communicate with my iPhone so I tried this. I couldn't find any reviews that specifically mentioned this device working with iOS, probably because the review section also includes reviews from the Android-only device. 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee iPhone 7+ running iOS 10.3.3 iPad Pro 12.9 (2017) running iOS 11.0 iPad 9.7 (2017) also running iOS 11.0 iPad 3rd Gen running iOS 9.3.5 Using OBD Fusion from the App Store Plug in the Veepeak into your OBDII socket Start the vehicle Fire up your your app of choice, like Torque, or OBD Fusion. Follow the instructions that say to not try to connect via the Bluetooth menu option in setup. Just go straight your app (OBD Fusion in my case), select Bluetooth LE (Low Energy) for the communications protocol, then tap Connect. Finally, go to your dashboard and enjoy the vehicle information being displayed.

Return it? Not so fast!
I've used an "Automatic" brand ODB2 device, but it has its own proprietary app and is really more of a performance monitor than a system diagnostic tool. I bought this, followed the instructions to the letter (installed Torque Pro) and while I was able to pair the device, I wasn't able to get it to connect to my phone. Torque kept saying there was no device connected. The website suggested that there may be some known connectivity issues and that a firmware upgrade may be required. NO THANKS! I filed a return and ordered option B. In the mean time, I learned that Torque needed me to actually select the device from within the settings menu. I unboxed the Veepeak and tried again - and everything works smoothly now! The data is so much more informative. (Far more so than "Automatic" monitors.) I'm now deeply satisfied with the gadget. If anything, I wish Torque had been more clear about immediately launching the settings menu rather than me having to hunt for it, but that makes the app 4-stars, while the connector easily earns a 5-star rating.

Works woth IOS amd stays connected.
This adapter works with IOS 11.2.2 and OBD fusion. I did not try with other supported apps but i did try with Shift-OBD2 with no luck. I'll update my review if that changes. My device has a 25ms min.delay/response time which is considered good in FORscan (9ms is excellent). Streaming speed varies by vehicle, for example it was smooth in a 2015 CRV but noticeably slower in a 2014 Explorer sport. Follow the user instructions with OBD Fusion and IOS. Do not try to pair. In OBD Fusion go to settings>pref>Commun>Type select “Bluetooth LE" then click "Menu" in upper right to update supported BT devices. It should now work with your IOS device. If you happen to pair by accident then unpair it and reboot your device, then perform the steps above.

Great for iPhone w/ OBD Fusion
I originally gave this product a one star, because it shipped out with the old user manual, which didn't include a crucial step for iPhone users who are using the OBD Fusion app. However, the people at Veepeak kindly sent me the newest user manual and the device has worked flawlessly since.. So far I would suggest this device to any iPhone user, but make sure you use the latest user manual. Sorry Android users, but I can't provide any advice for you all.. If you have any issues reach out to the team at Veepeak, they were very helpful.

Very Reliable with BimmerCode
I use BimmerCode to code my BMW's and recently purchased the OBDCheck to replace a wifi tool that has become very unreliable and has always been a bit of a pain to use. BimmerCode on my iPad connected immediately and operates much faster than the wifi tool. I coded a number of modules on my BMW's and so far, works flawlessly. Highly recommend this tool and coupled with the BimmerCode discount (see their website for discount), very cost effective. Highly Recommend!

Life saver for ignorant California emissions testing requirements
This is a simple device that combined with a cheap iOs or Android app can provide piece of mind when running into emissions problems. This also enables a ton more functionality that I haven't yet had need for, but was worth it for the $30 plus another $10 for the app. If you are having trouble passing your emissions, look up OBD2 and drive-cycles for your specific manufacturer. Rather than trying the complex steps and checking back in with the inspection station periodically, buy this device and "OBD Fusion" or similar app to make sure all tests pass. California and a number of other states require your car to pass and OBD (On Board Diagnostics) test prior to actually verifying your emissions are not destructive to the environment. If your battery ever dies/is unplugged, these diagnostics are fail until your car goes through a series of complex 'Drive Cycles" which will eventually mark all tests as passed. Unfortunately my Acura MDX has a somewhat common issue of electric drain which will eventually kill the battery (if, for example I leave the country for 2 weeks). Common advice is to drive around for 100-150 miles including some highway and some stop and go traffic, and it will eventually fix itself. 990 miles later and the Catalyst code was still not reset, and my tag was expired. I finally was able to get past the drive cycle issue after a couple attempts. Thankfully the emissions tester I used allowed me to come back a couple times from free, but some are not so generous. The following link is a great reference on how to get your car over the drive cycle hurdle. With this device and OBD Fusion, you will know when you have succeeded. On OBD Fusion, go to "Monitors" for the "Monitor Tests". Periodically swipe down to refresh the data while following the drive cycle advice. Make sure everything with a check in the left column has a check in the right column and you will be good to go.

Works great on both European and Domestic Cars
I own a 2007 Volvo XC-70 and a 2011 Ford Fusion SEL and the VEEPEAK OBDCHeck BLE was able to immediately sync up with Car Scanner ELM OBD2 v 1.22.2 App loaded on my iPhone 6 ios v 12.1.2. In fact the VEEPEAK OBDCHeck BLE (Bluetooth version) is one of two ELM327 adapters recommended on the carscanner.info web site. Everything worked exactly as it was supposed to and I was able to diagnose both cars. Their seem to be earlier reviews with problems syncing the Bluetooth, but mine worked flawlessly. The VEEPEAK OBDCHeck BLE that I received has a "B1 2018 QC5" stamp on the side, so perhaps this is the latest version that resolves any Bluetooth sync issues. Great Product for very little $$!
