Worked well on my steps and driveway during the recent blizzard. No damage or permanent staining to my bricks or cement. The bag is a nice strong plastic, but mine did not come with any reseal mechanism. I will definitely buy more to be prepared for the next battle against Mother Nature.

This would be an item I typically would purchase at our local hardware store but unfortunately due to a great deal of snow and freezing rain living in the Midwest we were sold out of salt and all of our local stores including solar salt so I went ahead and made a purchase online to use this pet safe for our deck to keep our dogs from falling. It worked great only wish it would be easy to find the same product locally

I live in northern Vermont near a lake. The temperature swings this way and that during winter. What was a safe sidewalk one day can be a long skating rink the next - or even a few hours later. Salt and sand go only so far and they do a lot of damage to lawns and the water system when they wash away. So, yeah, I went all Earth Day looking for something that wasn't destructive to animals, my wooden porch, floors, and so on. I read a lot of reviews and took a gamble by ordering the 10-pound jug of Snow Joe https://www.amazon.com/Snow-Joe-AZ-10-EB-JUG-Melt-Removal/dp/B073XVJNY1/ref=sr_1_4?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1518890105&sr=1-4&keywords=SNOW+JOE . . . and it worked. REALLY worked - just like in the videos you usually can't trust. When the jug was empty, I traded up to the 25-pound bag and - smart move, here - reused the empty 10-pound jug for scattering what I filled it with from the 25-pound bag. Brilliant, huh? That big ol' bag of Joe is very a good buy - it's two and half times as much Snow Joe for just five bucks more. Buy in bulk - and save! Yesterday, we has some wet snow which froze overnight into ice. I did my Snow Joe scattering and walked into my yard to refill the bird feeders. In the five minutes it took to do that, I returned to see an almost ice-free sidewalk. What strange magic be this? Blimey! One thing to keep in mind: this is a deicer - it doesn't make snow go away, just ice, and it does that super fast. I'm in Vermont - we don't lie about things like that, up here. Disclaimer: I paid for this stuff with MY OWN Money, Chester. I wasn't given free Snow Joe. This isn't one if those shifty, compensated endorsements and I wasn't bribed to write this glowing review - but I could be! Snow Joe, if you're listening, I'll shill for you any time you ask me to! Just send me more of your products and I WILL! Let's make a deal . . . !

I bought a big bag last year and another this year. It works really well and is safe with my dogo and the neighbors pets too. Our drive way is forever in the shade in the winter months so it's ice all winter long. This does a good job and even if you use a bit too much, the price doesn't make you feel like you're wasting it. Good stuff. Doesn't eat the driveway and despite it leaving green color when you've used a bit too much, it doesn't stain long term.

Today in Chicago it snowed throughout the day, not blizzard, but a normal 5-ish inches. I live in the city and have to keep my sidewalks clean, so I shoveled mid-day to break up the torturous foot traffic packed snow that builds up and broke a decent sweat (shoveling about 15 feet of sidewalk) I said “see you later” to my neighbors who were also or shoveling and I put this salt down over the remanants of my hardship, figuring it’d make round 2 easier. It has been 6 hours and my sidewalk is clear, no random patches of ice, clear - while my neighbors already had a solid new layer of snow to shovel, I will not be joining the next round.

This stuff will track into my house and we have two indoor cats. We also have a pet friendly neighborhood, and I don't like to put elements into the world that will hurt anything (ecosystem, people, animals) if I can help it. I have clients come into my home, and this clears the ice well to insure their safety as well as my families' coming and going. Affordable. Great choice.

I put it out before it freezes, and I take my dog out into the COLD (today FOUR DEGREES) morning and my porch and steps aren't icy and it doesn't bother my dog's paws. KEEPS ME AND MY DOG SAFE NAVIGATING what would otherwise be like a skating rink. AND unless it rains, it lasts for DAYS before I have to reapply. ALSO...HUGE PLUS....it's much more cost efficient than the SMALL jug, yet the container is small enough to put in the foyer and has a cup so I can just open the door, sprinkle on the porch and steps. THE BIG BAG is most efficient, but is hard for me to pour into something small and it takes up a lot more space. YOU MUST make sure to tightly close whatever container because if any moisture gets into this ice melt, it renders it useless or much less effective.

I keep this in a bucket on my front porch for icy days and it works great. It only takes a small amount to keep the sidewalk clear of ice and snow. My wife has medical issues and has problems with falling so getting rid of ice is a big deal for me and this product does the trick. Anytime i have extra it stores well until the next winter so that is a big plus as well. I will continue to order this product yearly!

In my city, we are in the worse February series of snow storms since 1949. Normally I don't need de-icer on my sidewalk but I have this month. This product worked so well that I have given some to my neighbors to try and we are all very impressed with this ice-melter, as it works as it says and does not affect pets' paws and nearby shrubs. Great product and will purchase again.

This melted the ice layer off our sidewalk in about 20 minutes. It broke the ice up enough to provide traction even before that. It's the first year I've ordered it online vs picking up in person at Lowes or HD, and I loved it showing up at our doorstep vs having to haul it through the store to checkout, then from the car. Will be ordering online again next year.
