So I tried many OTC versions and I can unnoquivically say that ProDental thin is the BEST. Here's the one and only catch

I have worn dentist-prepared mouth guards for teeth grinding at night for nearly 20 years. I lived in FEAR of losing it because it meant, at one point $400, for a new one! The price has come down but it's still a LOT of money (plus a dentist exam; they won't just let you have a mouth gaurd unless your a patient). So I tried many OTC versions and I can unnoquivically say that ProDental thin is the BEST. Here's the one and only catch, you MUST MUST follow directions: no skimming either. You have to read the directions word-for-word and follow them to a "T". It also helps to watch a video, although the dentist's isn't the best. I found one done by a woman from the east coast (accent) who was much better (can't find it to link, sorry. Maybe search YouTube). Also, I really appreciate all the extra ones so you don't have to live in fear (less fear, but still) of losing yours. And, the dentist's emails are thoughtful and feel very personal. Do not hesitate to buy these and don't waste your time on other brands!

No Morning Headache. Who!ohooo

Grinding has been a problem for me for a long time. After having my first custom mouth guard made incorrectly and having my jaw and teeth reposition from absolutely perfect to an open bite I have refused to wear another. (Seriously, my teeth were the only thing naturally perfect and now with an open bit and jutting jaw I'm still mad decades later and there's no cheap fix.) A long time ago I found the perfect product but I can't find it any more. I tried several other products before this one and always had the same problem. Too thick and they just worsened clenching and jaw fatigue. When I took these out of the box I thought "ah-oh, too thick" After folloing the directions the first time they fit well around the sides but were too thich between top and bottom. I repeated the heating process only the second time I broke the rules and bit down slightly to make them thinner between top and bottom and generally better fitting. I can see why the instructions say don't bite down when shaping. It does make it thinner but I don't care. It made all the difference in the fit. I slept like a rock and didn't wake up with a headache and if I chew through one... I have three more. So far the best retail product ever!

Very comfortable mouth guard

The guard feels really comfortable once molded. Just make sure to visit their website and watch the video on how to mold. Most importantly, it seemed the mouth guard did not need to be in boiling water as long as they recommend, so make sure to watch and take it out as soon as it begins to curl. Aside from that, very easy to mold. Would definitely recommend

Excellent guard. You need to repeat the forming process 3 times for a perfect fit.

Just picked these up because I've ground the points off of my eye teeth. With some trepidation, I began to form the mouthpiece by first reading and rereading the instruction sheet, followed by watching the video of the dentist going through the steps. My guess is the negative reviews are mostly a lack of comprehension in the forming procedure. That said, I will say that one forming is NOT enough to make a tight fit. Let me explain. Follow the steps provided but know the first time through will yield a preliminary fit. You must repeat the procedure. Rinse the guard you formed and throw it back in the hot water for another 10-15 seconds until the edges curl again, remove and stick it back in around your teeth, I promise you the fit will feel more natural than the first time. Repeat one more time and for the last forming bite down, not hard, just bring your bottom teeth up to the guard to leave a light imprint. This is SO necessary, for me at least, for a comfortable fit while my jaw is relaxed. After doing the 3 forming cycles, follow the instructions to make the snug fit by quickly tossing it in the water for a second or two and gently pulling the back edges together while dunking it in the ice water bath. If you follow these steps, you will be left with a perfectly formed mouth guard that will rival the pro guards from dental offices. Check my photos 1. Read and understand the directions in full. This is critical. 2. Repeat the forming process on the guard THREE times bringing your bottom teeth in contact with the guard for the third forming. 3. Enjoy not grinding your teeth down to nubs :)

Durable and comfortable

These mouth guards are a bit tricky to heat and mold without overheating and shrinking, but even an overshrunken one is comfortable and long-lasting against teeth-grinding. Their low profile makes it feel like they're barely there.

Amazing!

I’ve spent over $800 on “professional” dental guards through my dentist’s office, only to find them ill-fitting and uncomfortable. I never wore them. This product is fantastic! Was able to easily follow the directions and fit to my top teeth. Now I can’t sleep without it and the sensitivity in my teeth is much reduced since I’m not grinding. Incredible price!! It’s not as thin as a teeth whitening tray, but still very comfortable. I’m so glad to have found this product!

To be honest, I never did use these denture guards. I bought them because I was having a temporary problem with one of my capped teeth and I found myself clenching my jaw when I slept. When they arrived I was busy preparing for Christmas and didn't take the time to learn how to mold them to my teeth. I am going to get that tooth taken care of so I am hoping I will not need to use these. But I did want to give ProDental,owned by a retired dentist, a good recommendation as he followed up with 3 emails with instructions and a video and wanted to know if I was satisfied and if not, would refund my $$. He was very conscientious.

It takes a little getting used to but it is better than previous version

Overall the product is great. I may repeat customer for this particular brand though I don't really use the athletic guard version has a nightguard. This time around I want to try the thinner one and it did not disappoint. It fits well and is much less bulky. It's slightly less forgiving when molding so be sure to stand in front of a mirror when setting the mold to make sure it lines up correctly. My only complaint is that it produces some strange thorn in the center of the mold after forming it to your mouth. Happened twice in a row I'm not sure where comes from. Be prepared to get a razor blade and cut it off after that it should be great. Also note that because it's thinner the surface where it touches the lower part of your mouth may not be as flat as the thicker version. So it might feel a little uneven when you bite down. But it's a small consolation to the level of your size. It feels much more comfortable then the older, thicker version

It took me some time to figure out how to mold it the best way. I put it in to the hot water all least 5 times and little by little it had a perfect fit. Take your time its well worth it. Easy to use and a good fit.

These guards are the best. I boiled these and when I put them in my mouth it made an excellent impression. It stays tight around your teeth. . No fear of it falling out when you sleep. I previously purchased the kind that you don’t boil, you just trim with a scissor. They only made the plastic harder. You get 4 in this package so this is a great deal. I startied wearing the guard a few hours before I slept. I realized that when I had them on and watched television I wasn’t snacking. I lost a few pounds.
