My initial impression of these was that they seemed a bit Goofy with high-end materials. Although the blue LED light is a bit much and white would have been preferred it definitely does help when your tipping it into a pot to see how much is being put in there if you don't have a light over your range. The different ranges from fine to coarse grind is really large and being able to use this one-handed while the other is dirty is a lifesaver in kitchen if you cook frequently

I wanted a battery powered pepper grinder that I could use single handed, that gave me a satisfying ground of pepper. This was my fourth purchase attempting to meet this want. The first three grinders were anemic and/or impossible to refill without breaking. This one is a keeper - it's a workhorse, nothing anemic or fragile about it! The light illuminates the pepper as it falls to the food. Perfect. I'm very happy with this purchase and if someone stole this grinder, I would replace it with the same. ***** 5 STARS

I replaced a set of grinders that worked but always seemed to struggle. Then leaking Duracell AAA batteries killed them. I did contact Duracell and they paid me the $28 I spent on this set. These work much better than my old set; they grind faster, no bogging down, gives a nice grind from whole peppercorns. So far I'm only using one for the pepper, I haven't decided what I'll use the 2nd one for. But it does a very good job grinding the peppercorns. It's too early to give 5 Stars on Durability, I haven't had them long enough for a durability rating. I do think these would be a nice gift. But, if you gift them, be sure to gift AAA batteries also. They each take 6 batteries. My only dislike is that it takes 6 AAA batteries. This dislike is mainly from the leaking AAA Duracell batteries I've had. So I ordered AmazonBasics AAA Performance Alkaline batteries to use with this, which is what's in there now. Time will tell if the Amazon batteries are better than Duracell's; hopefully, no leaking. I wish they could make these that would run off AA batteries, maybe design it to use 4 AA batteries. These are probably designed to use AAA to help keep the size down, but 4 AA might be about the same size as 6 AAA. Oh well, that's what I'd like to see. Overall, these are good grinders and I do recommend them.

An excellent set of powered grinders for the price. It is the first set of electric grinders that I've seen that are properly designed for the job. The sets I've used before were always under powered resulting in catastrophic jams and short-lived batteries and often wound up in the trash. This set has ample power to break up peppercorns and salt crystals thanks to a simplified grinding system with a ceramic rotor and twice the amount of batteries to double the amperage. The use of a tilt sensor eliminates the need for a switch or button which was an excellent solution anyone who has bouts of arthritis in their wrists or fingers. The light is built-in to the top angled rim of the grinders making them simple to use. Also the components seem to be made from quality materials, especially the housing for the grinding mechanism which is nice change from cheaper grinders. There are a few negatives though. Because of the power you will need 12 AAA batteries (6 per grinder) and the mechanism is pretty loud and noisy when it activates. And left over crushed crystals or peppercorns can build up but can be cleared with a simple rap on the grinder while it is tilted and operating. Overall, these grinders are an excellent buy for the money. And, so far, well worth the effort. After a couple of months of use they still perform like new, which is a significant improvement over cheaper grinders. With their performance and elegant looks, I have no problem or reservations recommending them.

I bought this when my last electric grinder broke replacing the batteries. This is really easy to use, just turn. The grind size is easily adjustable. There is an LED light to see what is coming out but it's not overly useful. I need to move the grinder further away from the food to avoid the brightness but then risk getting salt or pepper on my counter. I recommend very large salt crystals or it will come out fast; however, I personally use coarse sea salt from large shaker and expect the first pour to be very concentrated. The first pour will be very consentrated whether it's salt or pepper, so be prepared. This will also work for grinding other seasonings like chicken seasoning.

This product worked just fine grinding pepper for 13 months which is one month past the warranty before it completely quit. Is supposed to have a lifetime guarantee, so now I will see just exactly what that means when I contact the company. Upon connecting with the company I was pleasantly pleased due find out they were going to replace the unit. Needless to say I was unbelievably happy at this point, I received the new unit very quickly and now completely satisfied. The grinder is an excellent unit and I hope to use it for many years.

This item broke after the 2nd use, even got small metal piece in my food (luckily I found it-see photo)!!! Seemed to work well until that point, you just turn it upside down and out comes the pepper, love the light feature. Very disappointed. UPDATED REVIEW: The company contacted me after my review and offered me a new grinder. It arrived today and so far so good! It works very well, it has a really smooth grinding operation and I love the blue light that lights up what your adding pepper to!

I got this for my boyfriend, but we both love it! It's fun to watch my boyfriend use it in the kitchen - he's like a kid in a candy store. It's super easy to get started with it. First, set your grinder to the level you would like your salt or pepper sized at (fine or coarse or anywhere in between). Then pop in some batteries. A blue light should come on when power is on. You turn it upside down and the blue light comes on and it automatically starts to grind your salt or pepper, so make sure you only turn it upside down over your food or you could have a real mess - lol! My only regret is that I only bought one - I should have bought the set of 2. This just makes cooking more fun for everyone (and can make you look and feel darn fancy!) It also looks and feels like a much more expensive item. I highly recommend!

I've owned a number of battery operated grinders over the years and had given up on them. There were design problems, motor problems, and problems with the grinding mechanism. They all held a small amount of product and were difficult to fill. I cook a lot and prefer the flavor of freshly ground peppercorns and the ability to choose the grind of salt I use that varies with the application. Most often, I like to be able to add these ground seasonings with one hand for convenience. I came upon this set the other day and, based on the price and design, ordered the set. One of the grinders was louder and a little faster than the other so I emailed the seller and 3 days later, a replacement arrived and it sounds and functions just like the other quiet one. The motor is strong and doesn't labor while in use. The refillable container holds nearly 2/3 cup peppercorns and it simply unscrews from the device for filling. It takes 6 AAA batteries, which I find to be typical, and the efficient design should extend battery life. The grinder is easy to adjust and remove for cleaning, if necessary. The only unknown is usage over time, but this one looks promising.

I have a bunch of semi-permanent injuries to my right hand and arm and never realized how much easier cooking could be. I felt kind of bougie buying an electric pepper mill, but it really has been super helpful with my hand/arm injuries to be able to just pick up the pepper mill and tip it over to get fresh ground pepper. I imagine if you have arthritis or carpal tunnel syndrome, this could be a real help for you as well. My only complaint is that the peppercorn jar is pretty small. We've had to refill it several time since purchasing this pepper mill and we only had to refill our old one a few times a year. I do miss the satisfying "Crack-crack" sound of the manual pepper grinder (maybe it's only me, but it made me feel fancy, lol). This one makes a sort of wheezing, gears-turning, robot-in-need-of-some-oil sound while it cracks the pepper. I know, I'm being super silly and picky. Buy the pepper mill already! You won't regret it :)
