For 20 bucks you can’t go wrong! Bought this for a two week business trip because the hotel didn’t have a kitchen. For two weeks we cooked on this! Even made steak.

It works better than expected
I bought this burner to use while we redo our kitchen and have no stove. It works better than expected. It really heats up quick. I think it boils water faster than my old gas stove did. The burner was shipped quickly too. As other reviewers have noted- be careful when using this, the entire unit heats up and you could get burned if you don't let it cool down once you're done cooking with it. The sides of the unit obviously don't get as hot as the burner, but the body of this thing is metal, so it does get pretty hot.

I used the number 1 setting and it worked just fine for what I will be using it for
I bought and used this burner out in the shop to keep a ceramic coffee pot with coffee in it warm. This burner will heat up fast so be careful with the settings. I used the number 1 setting and it worked just fine for what I will be using it for. Also turn it off when you are done using it and unplug it. I am impressed with how well it keeps what ever you are using it for warm. I am happy with the Ovente Countertop Infrared Burner. It is a good little burner for keeping your coffee and anything else warm. I would buy another one if anything should happen to this one. Thank you, Sandra K.

Just to be clear I didn’t buy this to cook ...
Just to be clear I didn’t buy this to cook food. I’m a woodworker and was looking for a single burner that was small, compact, and with plenty of power to melt bees wax, make hide glue, etc. This fit the bill perfectly. Because there are no exposed coils it’s also a breeze to clean. This thing has lots of BTUs and comes up to heat very quickly. And did I mention the price was right.

it works great!
I have had this for over a month now and use it daily to warm up my water from a teapot. I also use it most days to either warm up soup in a regular soup pot or fry eggs or a stir fry with a pan. I have had no problems with it, and while it will stay hot for a little bit when you turn it off, it cools off much faster than the other kinds of 'hot plates" and traditional burners. The only issue I had was due to my own situation of living in a small place. I left a plastic electric water warmer on top of it due to space issues, and plugged in this product instead of the water pot, resulting in melting and ruining of the water pot. The melted plastic went all over this product, but I was able to scrape it off once it cooled, and this product still works perfectly. It is not quite as pretty, as there is some discoloration from the black melted plastic that I had to chip off, and the markings on the knob that you use to turn from low to high came off, but again that was my mistake. So, if you live in a small place, please be sure to never leave anything on top of it so that you will not accidentally plug in the wrong thing causing the item on top to burn or melt. This would be the case with any burner, and at least this one was sturdy enough to make it through me chipping off the dried melted plastic from the burner itself and within the crevices around it. I would buy this again if ever needed. It does heat up water and food as quick as you could need.

Heats up and cools off quickly
Its been very well used since it came. Hears up and cools down after turned on/off quickly. Long cord (hard to find on appliances) and doesn't take long to cook things. Doesn't heat surrounding area very much which is nice for the summer. Not quite as easy to clean as advertised, but is still pretty easy. I don't have any real complaints.

Just what I needed!
I really needed a burner for our new place! We moved into a tiny home/studio that only had a kitchenette and I love cooking so you get my need for some sort of appliance. Since counter space is limited I decided to go with a single burner and this is the perfect size! It's short and small enough to fit in a drawer, cabinet or shelf when not in use. When using it heats up pretty quickly and evenly. I can only use my small to medium sized pans, but that works out since I'm only cooking for two. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a hot plate but is limited on space.

Yea, I can do some cooking now
Being in a wheelchair I can't reach the stove it's too tall, the pans are too big. Now I finally found a way that I can cook for myself at times when I don't have the caregivers. I like the idea of the far infrared, I am familiar with it so I didn't even know they made a hot plate. This is very nice. You DO have to be careful the outside of it gets VERY HOT so you have to let it cool down before putting it away!!! OR YOU WILL GET BURNED!!! It's been a blessing from Independence on my Caregiver's that they're not always cooking over a stove. FREEDOM for me incase I get hungry when there's no one else here to cook 😋.

Convenient Cooktop!
We already have an electric stove, an induction burner (for counter cooking), and an Iwatani portable gas/butane burner for camping/outdoors. I ordered this to see how it compares. I was especially intrigued by lightweight it is, based on the description and reviews. The 7-inch cooking area can be limiting, but my Lodge 8" cast iron skillet is a perfect fit over the cooking surface. This is indeed lightweight, but the amount of heat it generates makes it really convenient to use (especially with the Lodge 8" skillet) to quickly whip up eggs and/or pancakes in the morning. We also used it to grill up thinly shaved steaks for cheesesteak sandwiches, and it worked flawlessly. So far I've only used the Lodge 8" cast iron skillet with this burner, and it's a perfect marriage.

CAN'T GO WRONG WITH INFRARED
THIS IS MY FIRST INFRARED IN A LONG LIST OF BURNERS AND I LOVE IT. THE THERMOSTAT ACTUALLY WORKS AND CAN, FINALLY, CAN DEPEND ON A SIMMER FOR EXTENDED TIMES. WILL KEEP HEAT HIGH, AS WELL, ALLOWING ME TO FRY FISH/SHRIMP/FRIES.
