This thermometer is great for big pieces of meat. You insert one tab on each side of the meat to make sure its cook the same all the way around. Sometimes one side of the meat will be cook more than the other. Make sure to spin the meat dish around every so many hours especially for pork shoulder or best brisket. That way it comes the same. If you have a convection oven with a fan then you shouldnt have to spin any meats around. My oven is an older version but still gets the job done.

With any new thermometer test it in a glass of ice water to make sure it is calibrated. My oven is too cool by about 10 to 15 degrees, so I use these probe type thermometers to elliminate the guess work. It also saves time and energy when you are not opening the oven door several times to check the temperture of the food with an instant read thermometer. This one works like it should, was loud, but not too loud, easy to set and easy to clean. I also like the braided cords better than the plastic coated cords. Nice to have the clips too. So far I have used it 8 times to bake bread, which has come out perfect every time and also the best turkey ever! Having the two probes has proved to be so handy too, I thought my turkey was completely thawed after four days in the fridge, but to my surprise there was still a little ice in the cavity, so I put the probes against the breast bone and thigh bone, it turned out perfect, tender, juicy and the juices were clear. I can see many advantages to having two probes for big family dinners. This thermometer replaces a Taylor thermometer that I had for only four years before it stopped working. Sure hope this one lasts alot longer.

After I burned up an Oxxo thermo by foolishly using in the BBQ (hadn't noticed that it said it was only good to 450 degrees and should only be used in an over), I decided to purchase this item for $24 rather than spend $20 for a replacement Oxxo probe that still couldn't be used in a BBQ. Glad I did and the two probe system is great. My first experience was grilling two lamb chops of significantly different thickness. The dual probes allowed both to come out perfect. I have found that removing the meat around 5-8 degrees cooler than recommended in most cooking guides will allow the meat to sit for a few minutes and turn out perfectly, thus if your guide says 140 degrees for medium rare, remove meat from grill around 132-135 degrees and you should get a perfect steak.

I used this for the first time on Thanksgiving. WOW. My absolute favorite feature is that the probes can stay in the food the entire time while the display magnetizes to the front of my stove. For our 20lb turkey, I had the probes in the thigh and breast. Once the breast got to 162, the thigh was around 159. I went ahead and took the turkey out to rest. It. Was. Perfect. I like how it beeps when it reaches the set temperature, making it easy to know when it was done. Looking forward to using this on our green egg to smoke some brisket!

Compact size, 2 temperature probes (readouts for each). I use the 'beep when temperature is reached' instead of the straight time one. I primarily use this with my smoker/barbecue and the first time I used it, I was cooking pork shoulder for 60 people. Dual probes are the only way to go. Meat came out perfect and constant temp monitoring with alarm allowed me to attend to all of the other stuff I was making without worrying about the pork overcooking. I have used this many times since then with perfect results every time. Indispensable.

I’ve already gone through a few different digital thermometers over the last 20 years. The reviews had a couple of complaints about the true temp, so I checked the calibration. The #1 was exactly 32 degrees exactly. #2 was off, it registered 35 degrees. I am fine with this because I normally use only one probe at a time. I do wish it had a calibration mode, but it doesn’t. You just place the probes in iced water for 10 minutes, then make sure the probe isn’t touching any glass for at least a minute. The temp should be at 32 degrees if correct.

I am extremely pleased with the dual pro thermometer. It is very accurate and quick to respond to temp changes. I have used it for cooking, but actually purchased it for another purpose. I frequently check the difference in temperature between the air temp of the returning air, and the air temp of the supply air from my HVAC systems. The difference, known as the delta-t, lets me know how well the systems are operating. The TP17 is ideal for this procedure. The 40" connecting wires are sufficient, but I would like to permanently install the probes in the air handler at each end, and be able to read the temps approximately 12' away from the probes. Do you sell a set of longer wire/probes? How long a distance would the TP17 carry and accurate reading? This is a fine product with many more uses than a cooking thermometer.

I rarely write a review, but this thermometer is awesome and so is their customer service. After 6 months, I validated its temperature gauge by putting the probe in boiling water and it immediately read 210 degrees and 212 degrees within about 30 seconds. I've bought a few meat thermometers in my life, and this TP17 is by far has been the most accurate. Additionally, after about 8 months, the audio alert seemed to stop alerting (but the lights continued to flash) when my meat reached its desired temperature. I called customer service to figure out how to turn the audio back on, and literally within 2-3 minutes, they answered, said there was something wrong with the device, and they would send me a new thermometer in 2-4 days. They didn't ask for a return, just needed to verify I had bought the device and that the same address was current. Great customer service! I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

This arrived quickly and on time, and was well packaged. First thing I did was calibrate both probes using ice water and boiling water. Both tested perfect. Next, and high on my agenda, was to check the accuracy of my oven. I was surprised to find that it was running hot by almost 10 degrees when tested at 350. Yikes, but good to know and an easy workaround. I have a very fine Thermopop digital thermometer that I always have used and loved, but I was tired of losing heat on the grill and oven when using it. Yesterday I cooked a pork tenderloin and the Thermopro worked flawlessly. Prior to purchasing this, I researched many thermometers, and was initially looking at Bluetooth and wireless type models, but the reviews indicated that many/most were either unreliable, inconsistent, or overly complicated to use. This has a nice loud beep when the food has reached the pre-set temperature, so I have foregone the unnecessary bells and whistles for this which is a no-brainer to use. I am very happy with this. As a reminder to those who purchase it, read the little half-fold pamphlet that comes with it, which will show you how to register it online for a full 3-year warranty. Thanks ThermoPro for a great product.

I used this digital meat thermometer for the first time to aid myself in smoking BBQ ribs to perfection and this tool exceed my expectations. For my first time with this tool I smoked chicken leg quarters and pork ribs to absolute perfection. My photographs speak for themselves. The unit itself is solid and easy to use with a bright BLUE illumined background that displays the temperature threshold you set plus the temperature of the actual probes. When the temperature threshold is met an audible alarm will sound reminding you that you meat has reached the desired internal temperature. There are 2 independent temperature probes perfect for if you are cooking 2 different cuts of meat together or if you want to measure the temp of the inside of the meat and the temperature of the inside of your smoker, oven, or grill. The temperature probe wires are special wires covered in heavy insulated wire mesh cable covering.
