The Hotec tongs might be better than OXO tongs

Hotec Stainless Steel Kitchen Tongs Set of 2 - 9" and 12", Locking Metal Food Tongs Non-Slip Grip - These tongs are better than the similar OXO tongs I owned previously. These tongs are essentially an improved clone of the - OXO Good Grips 12-Inch Stainless-Steel Locking Tongs. - These tongs are about 1/4 inch shorter than the similar OXO tongs. These tongs contain a better spring mechanism than the similar OXO tongs. For the price of the OXO tongs, these provide a second, shorter, pair of tongs. The OXO tongs I had previously lasted 10 years before the rubber grip and the spring gave out. The construction of the Hotec tongs looks like it may be able to out last my previous OXO tongs.

Tongs that work beautifully

My previous set of tongs had a ring that slid up and down them to let the open or keep them closed. The spring tension pushing the tongs open was so high that I could only turn a few pieced of food before feeling strain and cramps in my hand and/or wrist. THESE tongs from Hotec are released from the closed position by pushing in the little circular ended slider in, locked closed by pulling the slider to the "out" position. No strain, just well-balanced, perfect tongs.

Reliable and Sturdy Tongs

My last set of tongs broke after trying to lift a roast so I was looking for something sturdy and reliable to use. These are very basic but exactly what I wanted. The lock works great and I can get a good grip even on somewhat slipper food (see raw chicken). I recommend them to anyone who does a lot of cooking and isn't looking for something too fancy.

Solid, good quality set. Very happy. Has rubber grips over the past is the handles you hold so they don't slip out of your hand. Has rround piece you pull or push to open/close the tongs. If you have non stick cookware be aware the ends do not have silicone to prevent scratching.

Great locking tongs!

I love these tongs! They are very sturdy, lock nicely and grab whatever I need securely. They clean up nicely in the dishwasher and I'm hoping they last a long time!

Tongs can be hit or miss since they can flex or not grip well, but that is not the case with these!! I have used mine to pick up and flip sausages, pick up shrimp, and to mix a salad. The real test was the 4 pound bone in pork shoulder in my Instant Pot. After searing each side, it picked it whole thing up with ease. Then I used the tongs again (washed!) to puck up the big chunks of the tender pork that needed to be shredded. Did I make you hungry?!?! ha!

Love the grip, the fact that the end of the tongs actually match up properly, and the lock works great and just requires the pull of the circle. My smaller tong came with one of the inner wires coming out, but it still works perfectly fine so I'm fine with it.

Love the Lock

So far, so good. I had successfully melted my last pair of kitchen tongs and couldn’t beat the price for two. While the package came a little disturbed (I think one of the locks got bumped in the mail and the tong sprang open and out of the box/plastic), they have been great. I’ve already used them for grilling and other meals and put them through the dishwasher a few times without issue. Love the locking mechanism for easy storage.

Great tongs!

This pair of tongs are great for kitchen usage. My current one has plastic grabs on it, and it's easy to get the plastic melt if it touches hot surface. It had happened to me. This new pair I got only has metal "hands", so you can easy grab hot food without much worries. And they're easier to clean as well. I use the bigger one for noodles/pasta while the small one for putting food on the pan. As for quality, they seem to be on par with the ones you get from supermarkets. Overall, they're good value.
