No disappointments here, it was as advertised and just what I wanted. Full flow ball valve that makes it easy to flush or drain my water heater and easy to install. Could not ask for more and it is made very well from what I see.

This will make draining the sediment from the tank so much easier. This new brass valve is so much better than the cheap plastic valve the water heater manufacturer provides. The original plastic valve is in the first picture and the new brass valve is in the second picture.

All water hears should come from the factory with a big ball valve like this. Makes flushing the heater easy and no leaks like the plastic valve. Yes, it will drop my efficiency a tad, but worth it for the ease of use.

Last year when I drained our water heater I had to entirely remove the old valve because of rust and corrosion and really got hosed by rust and hot water because the valve was plugged. This valve totally eliminates that problem because there are no obstructions in the the path. I love this 3/4 " valve! Well worth the extra money!

Anyone who has ever flushed a water heater knows the valves that come with them suck. They flow poorly so it takes forever and sediment often clogs them up. I have always resorted to just removing the valve completely before out of necessity. This valve is nicely made and should flow almost as well as removing the valve completely like I have done before. It shouldn't get all clogged up with sediment, and should be a lot less likely to leak. Whenever my water heater eventually fails I plan to move this valve over to its replacement.

Works great and it should fit any Rheem water heaters that uses a plastic drain valve. However, the 2" shank length will not fit Rheem water heaters that comes standard with a brass drain valve as those drain valves require a 3" inch shank length (learned that the hard way). For drain valves that require a 3" inch shank length, you'll need to make your own by connecting a ball valve with a 3" and 1.5" brass nipples. Don't forget a Pipe Wrench as well, an adjustable wrench won't fit.

Once I got off the old screwdriver compression valve and replaced it with this 3/4 inch ball valve, I was able to get more junk out of the bottom of the A.O. Smith water heater. I am glad to find a 2 inch shaft so it does not have to fit so tight against the outside of the tank.

This is a very heavy duty drain valve. It is best to just replace the cheap plastic drain valve that water heaters come with before installation because they will be very difficult to remove after a year or so. This will make it very easy for recommended annual water heater drains without possible drain valve leaks or failures.
