Don't know if it's deterred anyone, but it looks functional, and that's what I wanted.

It was easy to replace the last one which died. The lights blinks more often than the old one which I really like.

I installed one on the terrace at our apartment in Florida which is used a couple of weeks each month. It looks real. I has a red LED that continually flashes. That looked fake so I did not load the batteries. If the led light came on when movement was detected, it would appear more authentic.

Looks very much like a functioning camera no one knows it's a fake...red light is a plus

Realistic alternative to expensive security monitoring companies this product appears "live", construction is sturdy.

The fact the camera is still “recording” (red flashing dot) Blows my mind because I put batteries about 2 months ago and it’s still on! Even when it’s been raining nonstop, it still flashing red 😎

Security cameras are necessary to potentially prevent and or catch malicious mischief on or around your property. However, often times it is simply the *threat* of a security camera that can deter a criminal from any action. Hence the use of a dummy camera! I purchased a dummy camera after a recent spat with my neighbor over a property dispute. He made a few threats against my person and property, and I sought out a solution that might deter him from committing any action. Obviously if something occurs I will have no proof due to the use of a dummy camera; however, I wanted to at least attempt to prevent it from occurring in the first place. I opted to purchase this dummy camera because of the cost and because it looked like the real deal. It looked like it would be easy to mount and would get the job done when I needed it to. The unit comes with one security camera, three mounting screws and plastic wall anchors, as well as a decal saying “Smile, you’re on camera.” The camera is solid in design as it is made of sturdy plastic. It has a sliding cover that moves out from the camera to protect it from the elements and also add a look of realism to it. Finally, the blinking red LED makes it easy to see that it’s “recording” any passersby. I was able to install the unit in about five minutes. I recommend unscrewing the swivel head that is connected to the camera to give you a clear shot of the mounting holes to secure the screws. Once you’ve done that and mounted the arm, you can easily re-attach the camera with the screw. Then, you are able to reposition the camera at nearly any angle that fits your needs. In addition, there is a rubber “wire” that comes off the back of the camera with a fourth hole in the center of the mounting bracket. I used this hold to stick the “wire” into so that it looked like it was wired into my home. I have received two compliments from neighbors already that this unit is a great addition. They do not know that it is a dummy, as I want the perception to be that it is real. Overall, I love this dummy camera and recommend purchasing them if you need to deter malicious activity on or near your property. If you have neighbor issues, perhaps this could also help as I hope it does in my case.
