I had the last version and I loved it also! The controller is great I just don't like the fact that it has to be recalibrated often and the phone has to be disconnected from the headset to do so. I think they could add some more media apps also, just seems like they are holding back on the apps that could make this thing even better. I think it has great potential to be really big. It is very simple to use and comfortable just make sure your phone is charged before you use it, you don't wanna be really into a movie or game and have to take a break to charge your phone.

Works great! It's the same vr game store and network as Oculus Go, and now that the go is out lots of games have been updated and released. I have a note 5 and the only problem is the best grafics games won't support my old phone. I also had to get a cooling fan off of ebay to keep my phone from over heating. The Go has higher resolution and refresh rate, but the AMOLED screen on my phone does have better color. It helps to remove the screen protector to get full quality display.

The first one delivered had a glitch in that it was difficult to insert my Note 8 and make a proper connection. I requested a return / replace and was completely surprised when the item showed up two days later. I promptly packed up the original and sent it according to sellers instructions. The replacement works great and we've had some laughs watching others reactions to getting up close and personal with an apatosaurus courtesy of Felix and Paul studios and Jurassic World.

I previously had a Freefly VR headset which was pretty good FOV, and downloaded a bunch of VR games from google play but this Gear VR powered by Oculus software is in another class. The quality of the software is 100x better, especially with the motion tracked controller. Its so realistic using it in flight sims, for shooting games, and for the fishing game. And the Netflix app is so cool i would rather watch Netflix on my Gear VR than a real 60 inch TV.. lol You can also buy games and apps in bundle packs which can save some money, but there is also free content in the store as well. If you have a supported galaxy phone and want to get into VR then get this.

I have been fighting getting into VR, mostly cause my eyes don't do well with 3D videos. I had some money to spend, and this had good reviews, so I went for it. SOOOOO glad I did! This thing is awesome! The video is so clear, and it runs so smooth on my new Note 8. The oculus app has so many awesome videos to watch and apps to play, you will not get bored anytime soon. Motion sickness? Non existent! I don't know how it counters that, but it does. The controller is comes with works really well too, it's better than the Nintendo remotes in terms of accuracy and response. The Netflix app is absolutely killer as well! All in all, such a great buy, so glad I did it. Highly recommend!

I've only ever tried the $20 headsets before so I was blown away with gear VR! My only complaint is a lack of good games and a lot of times you will have to pay for a game before you find out it sucks. Telltale needs to get on the VR trolly. Walking dead and Sam and Max would be perfect in VR land!

Surprisingly fun. I didn't expect this to compete with the more expensive VR headsets (like the Vive) but I was impressed with its capabilities. And best of all, it is not tethered to a computer or something else with wires. I've had countless hours of fun and so have my kids. I'd highly recommend this cheaper entry into VR if you don't want to spend thousands on an expensive VR headset and computer powerful enough to power it. The games are cheaper than the other VR systems as well (even identical games). There are definitely limitations, and you may find yourself needing to invest in a new gaming controller for this as well but keeping those things in mind up front, this is definitely a fun toy to have. Takes a little bit to get used to the controls and how to do certain things with the headset but overall it has been enjoyable. I would recommend, and have, buying this headset if you own a samsung phone.

I literally have only one thing to say if u own or are ready to buy a galaxy s8 or s9, that being said BUY THIS ASAP......I am not joking, I have one and when I show friends and then their friends, everyone is literally mind blown, I think the best by far to watch is a real live NBA game......your right at the net & backboard and when you turn your head 360°, you can see literally everyone who attended the game....most like everyone else, people who own VR goggles can talk to you to try and convince you to buy it, I literally almost did the other night b/c this thing sells itself......also you can ride every rollercoaster at six flags which u feel like your actually on but besides all that, you can use it for ANYTHING else.....watch a movie in a real theater, the actual moon, etc......screw it that's all i'm telling you, if u do read this and it doesn't exite you, i'm soooo sorry you can't let enjoyment into your life but i'm 100% certain b/c your standing at the very bottom of the top of the food chain since your f'n gothic.........BUY A SAMSUNG VR HEADSET & ITS TOTALLY NECESSARY TO BUY THE VR REMOTE W/ IT

I love this product. I also have a PSVR which is also fantastic. But I love this because this is portable and I can watch my movies in VR anywhere. just like I am in a IMAX theather. The games are cool as well. Defiantly complements the Samsung Note 8. I would recommend this product to anyone. NO screen door effect. Very fun.

I was already familiar with this product as a relative received one for Christmas several years ago. However, online discussions weren't sure if Gear VR worked easily with the latest Galaxy S10. It does -- I did not have to do any adjusting to VR for my new phone! The remote control paired with my device immediately. You will, however, have to wait a significant amount of time to use it as the Oculus software is many hundreds of megabytes and will take a while to finish the automatic download. A number of apps are also pre-purchased, but each one will also need to be downloaded from the web for use. One caveat, older purchases may have to use a magnifying glass to read the miniscule instruction booklet (3 3/14" by 3 3/4").
