Easy to set up. Great for energy monitoring. Uses VeSync App (3* for that)
1) ETL US & Canada Certified 2) 8 amp (1000 watt @ 120volt) resistive load 5 amp (600 watt @ 120volt) inductive load 3) manual on/off on device maintains state during power outage: takes about 2-3 seconds to restore to “turn on” state when power comes back up. Obviously stays off if state was off. 4) relay load control Seamless router connection if you are on 2.4ghz, secure network. Some negative reviewers mentioned the VeSync app needed access to things like camera, contacts etc. That is just not so, at least with the latest version of app (that’s available May 1 2018). Also, a lot of bad rap on 2..4 ghz. These are not streaming devices. They do not need the bandwidth of 5ghz. But they do need range. 2.4ghz is generally much better range than 5ghz. If a 900mhz router on n band were available, that would be better for range! One reviewer even said your setup device has to be 2.4ghz. Well, yes, but only because they need to be on same network. On any dual band router, they are different networks, so yes, duh... Once set up, you can run your app on either band of same router and it works fine. A sidebar to last sentence is you can have the smart outlets on different networks of connected routers, ie, range extenders, so long as they have unique SSID’s and are protected. A concern of some reviews is the inability to delete a device once installed. On iOS devices just select device and swipe left - there will be options, including delete. Cannot comment on Android, but suspect whatever the common systemic delete method is will work. VeSync software is GUI is clumsy, but works. It will revolve. Example: energy use per device is there, but by device. A summary option that lists all devices as rows, and usage cost info as columns by time period would be cool. The info is there, but have to pull it out by device and move manually to spreadsheet, I have 12 of these currently installed. There has been a couple of surprises in energy use! I do not use the remote on/off control, just energy monitoring. Would be great to lock out software outlet control per device, so my wife doesn’t accidentally turn off the refrigerator or furnace... One really good use has been my pond pumps. Controlling the timing and having a remote on/off function, plus energy monitoring is great. These are pretty good, reliable devices. We’ll see how long they last, but my main usage is to cut my $200+ electric bill a bit. at $15 a piece, and portable, with 12, I should have good whole data in a couple of months. Other systems that are Wifi energy monitors are over one to several hundred dollars A MEASUREMENT POINT. These are more versatile and cost effective, except they won’t report on 240v. devices, like the AC. But, monitoring the 120volt furnace, I can see the relative effects of thermostat tampering/control. Thankd for reading.

Simple to use
I was given an Echo as a Christmas present and got these to allow me to control some lamps in various rooms. Now I realize I could have gotten smart-bulbs for those lamps and wouldn't have needed these outlets. I may go with the bulbs yet, but these outlets will still come in very handy when I put my Christmas lights up in the future. The VeSync app didn't work exactly as expected when I first installed the first outlet so that took a couple tries but after that everything was fine. Just make sure you know the power drain of the devices you want to control. I wanted to use one of these in my basement area to control a heater but the heater draws more amps than these are rated for. I bought 4 more of them recently, because as I said above they will come in very handy for Christmas decorating :-) I live in a 3-story townhouse with lights in the windows on all 3 floors, front and back. I have them all plugged into these smart plugs, which are all named Christmas 1, Christmas 2, Christmas 3, etc. Then I created a group called Christmas in the VeSync skill on my Echo and added all of these plugs to the group. So I can just tell the Echo to turn on Christmas or turn off Christmas and all the Christmas lights in the entire home go on or off. The tree will be controlled in the same way when I put it up.

Great product but does not work with wall transfermers.
I really like these devices. Very easy to set up, work with echo dot, very quick set up. But ... they do not work with wall transformers. I wanted to use one to turn on https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0091VAONW/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1. The unit would turn on but failed to turn off (actually turned off but quickly came back on) and the iphone app claimed it could not communicate with the device (try again later). The transformer on the LED string has a 3.6V output and I tried several others (5V out, 4.1V out, and 12V out) but none of them worked except a 3.1V output. Switched to the 3.1V transformer on the LED string and the unit works. Something about the noise generated with the high voltage wall transformers interferes with the WIFI communication with these devices. But they are great for turning lamps on and off, and with the scheduling capability in the iphone app, they are a great product. Update: Absolutely the best app support I have ever seen. You contact the developer and they are right back with you right away. I informed them that when one uses the preset sunrise and sunset feature that the time would not change for the changing daylight time. They fixed it. Today I am changing the rating to 5 stars.

Easy to set up, easy to use, awesome!
I was not expecting these to be so awesome. Setup I plugged in the outlet to the wall socket, downloaded, created account, then loaded the VeSync app, clicked to add Wi-Fi Outlet, followed the instructions, and it found the device almost immediately and was connected to my network shortly after. Whole process took my maybe 15 minutes. Adding additional outlets after was even faster...about 1-2 minutes per outlet. Using the Outlet and App The outlet is as simple as plug-setup-play. The app is pretty much just as easy. Each outlet is controlled individually, which is annoying, but I had read you could control everything with IFTTT. Not sure, so can't confirm, and I don't really care about that right now, so I am not sure when I'll look into it. Setting up timers, seeing power usage, and setting up schedules is super easy and quick. The only problem with schedules is that you MUST setup the timer to start AFTER the current time. For example, if it's 5pm, but you want to set the outlet to power on at 4:30pm, it WILL NOT WORK. It ends up switching the Start and End times. Therefore, you must setup the schedule the following time anytime before 4:30pm. Once you do that, no problem and everything is perfect. There is virtually no delay between the app and outlets in regards to sending updates or turning them on/off. Overall Thoughts I love these outlets and only wish they were lower profile like some competitors. I hate no being able to fit 2 of these on one wall outlet. Right now it's not a big deal, but it will be annoying when holidays roll back around later in the year and I put up lights. I'll deal with that then.

Extremely easy to install and works really well!!
I initially bought 2 plugs to see whether they worked, and I loved them so much I came back and bought 4 more! It's a great product and really easy to setup. I was initially worried about whether my AT&T Uverse Wifi network was compatible with the 2.4GHz requirement, but it worked without me having to change a thing. I was also worried about whether an outlet would work on the opposite end of my house from my wireless router, but no problems there either. With the VeSync app, you can turn the plugged in device on/off from anywhere in the world as long as you are connected to the internet. You can also setup schedules on the app, but I haven't played around too much with that yet. It was also really easy to sync with my Amazon Echo Dot for voice activated functionality. Within the Amazon Alexa app, you can group multiple outlets together and have Alexa turn on/off all devices in that group, which is really handy! Right now I only have lamps connected to the outlets, and I need to brainstorm what else I can use the outlets for! You can also use an extension cord or outlet splitter to have multiple lamps plugged into the same outlet.

Dependable, good value
I've had mine for more than a year now, and they work perfectly. Never had any problems with them. I actually PREFER these to the ones I got at a higher price point, because these are easier to use and they don't block both outlets when you plug them in. I got these for our Christmas light displays around the house, and it was WONDERFUL being able to turn on two Christmas trees, a garland, a Christmas village, and a manger scene, all in different rooms, all at once, and then turn it all off again, without having to fuss around with timers and extension cords and whatnot. I think these are functionally better than analog timers, too, because you don't waste power lighting the room when you're not there, and if you're home at a weird hour, it's super easy to just turn on the tree for a while without having to mess with a pre-set timer. These smart plugs are going in the basement with the Christmas decorations, and they're ABSOLUTELY going to make a comeback next year.

Worth the money
Nice little smart plugs. I've been using these for about a month, but it was rather heavy usage during the Christmas season. I had trouble with one loosing its connection for a short time one evening, but I unplugged it and plugged it back in and has worked fine since then. It is very interesting to see the energy usage of the item plugged into each of these. Now I can show my family members how much they are costing me by leaving the items on instead of turning them off! They are easy to setup but the only confusion that I had was which app I should use. There are two apps available that do the same thing so I've been trying both of them to see which one that I like best. Works great with Alexa!

Work great and very good customer service if you have any issues
RE: this seller: they were really good. I contacted them with an issue when one of my plugs went offline a couple days after I hooked it up, and they responded immediately (fastest response from an online seller I've ever received). When I tried a couple things that didn't work and then communicated it to them, they placed a new order for me free of charge and sent it. The next day, I did get the plug working again (which indicates to me that it was an issue with my wireless network or Alexa rather than the plug itself). Now I have 8 plugs! I would have happily accepted just one replacement (if the plug really was malfunctioning) but they were super prompt and sent me this full replacement order. I would definitely order from them again. (I have had no issues since then with the functionality of the plugs) The plugs work well and connect to Alexa through this manufacturer's app. The plugs are small enough that you can still use the other outlet in the wall when it's plugged in.

Excellent, effective switch for use with Amazon Echo
I've actually purchased sets of these on three different occasions to expand our home controls. Of the 10 that I purchased, 1 was defective as it kept turning itself off at odd times. I contacted product support, and they immediately sent me a replacement product which works perfectly. These switches were very easy to set up... it required downloading an app to my iPhone and switching my WiFi on my phone to use the 2.4 Ghz network. Finding and setting up each switch took only minutes. Note that once the devices are set up, you can switch your phone back to using you 5 Ghz WiFi network without any issue. I love the fact that I can add these to groups within my Alexa/Echo and control devices throughout the house. Note that these are SWITCHES, not dimmers... they only turn on and off. I particularly love that they report a history of the amount of power used by the attached lamp/device. It's actually great to know how much power that Christmas tree is actually using! I grouped all of my lighted Christmas décor into a single group so that I could automatically turn them on and off with a single command. My aquarium light automatically turns on at 7:00 AM and off at 10:00 PM without fail. This is definitely a WiFi switch that I would recommend, and as my purchase history shows, it's a switch that I would buy again and again. It's a great value for the money, and a product that company stands behind.

Perfect for remote and voice management of lamps
These are better than your standard plug timer since you can control them with your Smart phone and Alexa. Plus I also have the outlets set on a programmed schedule. If there are others in your home that might want to turn the item plugged in off and on, you will have to train them because using the smart plug means that the switch on the item plugged in is no longer effective. All users will have to use either Alexa or their phone to control the item plugged in. Since the lamps I control with these outlets use LED lights, I don't feel bad about having them on even if no one is in the room. I turn on my bedside lamp in the evening and have it turn off automatically at a time I tell myself that I should go to sleep. When the light clicks off, I tell myself all devices are off and books are down! Ha! Ha! It's important to remember that these outlets basically allow power to or turn off power to whatever is plugged in. So the item plugged in must be in the ON state at all times. This works great for lamps, but won't work for most (maybe all) TVs.
