Great product for the $$
I was very impressed with this log splitter. It was perfect for my application. I was able to split about 2 cords of straight pine and oak over the course of 2 afternoons taking my time. The pine had already aged about 9 months and the oak was very old. It split it all with no problem. I could see people having issues with very large and/or fresh cut logs. Even when splitting by hand I've always let my wood age for at least 6 months before splitting. As long as you understand what your getting this is a great tool for the price. I already have several family members asking to borrow and possibly buy their own.

Don't hesitate! Ah-mazing!
We finally decided to buy a splitter after several years of doing it by hand, and wow was it worth it! This thing is a little tank! In the pictures, we have a 16" diameter round of cedar that it split with ease. The only time it got bound up was when we had a knot right where it was splitting, and all we had to do was flip the log around, and it had no issue. We have split 2 cords or so with it already... it makes life so easy! The stand is a back saver too. Love it!

Works flawlessly
I put the biggest nastiest (non-knotty) piece of red oak on it I could find and it busted right on through it without a struggle. I wasnt able to split those with a splitting maul but this splitter got on through it. I had over 100lbs of weight on it and it didnt flinch. Splitter itself is probably 100lbs. I'll come back when I find a more difficult piece

Cracked wheel, great machine, and good customer service
"dropped" off yesterday, and upon inspection, one of the wheels was cracked thru. Still had the need to try it out, so last night in my living room, I started splitting- Works like a charm! This 75 year old body has been telling me enough with the Paul "Bunion" thing! About the wheel, spoke to service this morning, and they couldn't be more helpful and pleasant. Part is in the mail! I'll post an update in a few months, but for now, it does what it's supposed to. Just an observation- two hands on the controls for safety, really makes no sense. I'd feel safer having one hand on the log. There must be enough stupid out there to set it up this way.

SO FAR SO GOOD
Used one season about 15 hours. Do not hesitate to buy. I chose this unit over others because it had more pressure AND IT CAME WITH A WHEELED STAND. You don't want to be on your hands and knees doing this work or dragging this awkward tool around without one or having to build a table for it. The stand was annoying to attach due to the usual problems we face in assembly these days but once together this thing performs. Anything (all hardwood) under 10" in diameter it split easily except for pieces that had extremely twisted grain which required several repositionings. Make sure you keep bleeder valve open during operation and follow directions regarding filling with hydraulic fluid. Quiet, efficient.

Works great!
I have been using this to split logs at my cabin and it is working great. I like the stand, so I don't have to bend over while operating the splitter.

Great investment!!
This was a gift for my husband, or should I say a toy and he was beyond excited and thrilled to get this log splitter. He put it together rather quickly with the help of my dad and I think split a whole tree in one day..he did say it went through the oil fast. Over all, he loves it and can't wait to chop down another tree to split the wood.

Terrific product
Just used the Wen Log Splitter (LS) for the first time. If you attached the stand to the LS (highly recommended) you may need two people. It's heavy/bulky and a bear to maneuver on your own until you attach the stand. Having said that, this LS is awesome and as advertised. Just spent approx. an hour splitting dozens of individual logs that would have taken me all day with an axe or some other tool. Easy to use if you read the instructions. Keep people away from the front of the LS when splitting logs. Occasionally, the log split and shot out on an angle to the left and right of the front of the LS in such a way that it could possibly hurt someone especially children who are not that tall. Remember to bleed a little air from the device (via the "air bleeder") in the front of the LS prior to using. All in all, a great device. Getting prepared for the winter is never easy but this LS certainly saved me a great deal of time and effort.

It's a Beast
I was a little skeptical of buying this as I was originally wanting a 20+ ton towable unit, but I am super happy I did. I didn't want to shell out $1k plus on a log splitter as I only need roughly 2 cords of split wood a year. This thing splits every thing I have thrown at it. Even split hedge (osage orange) no problem. The stand makes it super nice on my lower back as well.
